Passholder line Q

Just back, 5/30-6/3. We also were there 4/1-4/8. Both times we had AP holders and non-AP holders. They permitted our entire party to go through the line at MK and AK. During the April stay, we entered through the IG for Epcot, so no AP line there. During the 5/30-6/3 stay, the AP line at EP was considerably shorter and we used it. We were first in line at DHS so we didn't check for an AP line.

95% of the time, I would have to walk past an empty regular line to get to the AP line so it's very rare for me to use it.. there have been moments it was helpful but overall, I don't use it much as it's not faster.

NOW the AK bag check they did for passholders was a dream.. they could check 3 times the amount of people in the same amount of time. I want that to come back :)

This makes sense. It would have been of no benefit for you to enter quickly, then have to wait inside for the non-AP members of your party to enter through the regular line.

I asked last time when my son came with me because I'm an AP and he isn't...their answer was as long as you're with a passholder, no problem going thru that line.

That being said, in our 5 days and probably 10 or so park entries, I think we used the Passholder line once, since the regular lines were no longer.

My husband and I are passholders and used the passholder line during RD at most parks.

My kids are not passholders. They are 12, 12, and 7.

Can they come with us in the passholder line or do we all need to use the regular line?
I was told only 1 person in party needs to have AP. Could very by CM of course, but we had no issues

I wish they had an AP only bag check and enforced AP line to where only AP's were allowed in it, with the exception of young children.

That would be nice too. Although, I have an adult child and her soon to be husband who DON'T have an AP and they often travel with us. I know it's a gray line and one that certainly could be abused.

I am also with @HopperFan with the security check for AP holders. Most AP holders KNOW what to expect at the security. It's so frustrating to see folks who don't have a clue just throw their LARGE backpack and/or purse up and then have to be instructed to open it up. Then they open up the MAIN pouch only. Ugh!!!!

I like cargo pants/shorts and try to carry as much as I can in my pockets. Even to the point where I will carry a collapsible bag that I can then use once I am INSIDE.

Haven't been there since they changed the security checks to the TTC and other locations, so we will see how that goes in a few weeks. Staying at Fort Wilderness, so I am curious how ours will go.

I sent an email asking, but I'll bet Disney never intended to limit the AP line in the way you suggest. It would be no benefit at all to let AP members quickly enter a park, only to have to stand inside waiting for the non-AP members of their party to go through the regular line. All too often, people seem to adopt the narrowest, most restrictive, least sensible interpretation of a Disney policy, state it as fact, then accuse people of violating (or Disney of not enforcing) their construction of the rule. In any event, the posters who have actually asked report being told that non-AP members of an AP holder's party may use the line. In this case, Disney is "enforcing" the AP line exactly as it intended.

Wow. I think this is the first time I posted a question only to get 2 pages of posts!

My question seems to have been answered. Maybe or probably. Lol I'm going to assume yes since they're kids.

As for security/bag check lines, an AP line would be awesome. However, I used a flip belt and carried my few items in my hands through the no bag line at every park. The only issue I had was heading the poly to board the monorail. I didn't know there was security so ended up having to take off the flipbelt. Lol
