Hey all,
We passed ROFR on 2/8 on our first DVC property however we still have yet to receive any closing documents. Is this normal? I'm really hoping to get a room at VGC in September would love the process to hurry up a bit so we can try and book ;)

OP, keep calling or emailing your closing company and keep yourself on their radar. My experience has been the closing documents arrive 1 week to ten days after passing ROFR.

I'm in the same boat. We passed ROFR on the same day and NOTHING. So frustrated at this point! :headache:

I'm not happy that you have not gotten your docs either but it does make me feel better that I am not the only one. We pass on the same day with the same company, guess it's just a waiting game now :(

I took the PP advice and shot an email off to the title company, but since it's a holiday weekend I don't think I will here back from them until Tuesday. :sad2:

Yeah I'm sure they are closed until Tuesday. Let me know if you hear anything back and if not I'll be making a call to see what is going on. ;)

we closed recently and for us, it took 5~6 days after ROFR when we received the closing documents from the closing company. It shouldn't take this much time for them to receive estoppel back from DVC to prepare the closing documents.
I'd contact your agent to expedite the closing complany.

Yep, I talked to Sharon at Fidelity on Wednesday and she said they'd received the estoppel and had approved closing, so we should get the closing docs "any day now." I really thought I'd get them today.

Are they coming snail mail or by UPS? I'll be on the lookout for mine next week!

I asked her if the title company would email them, she said no, we'd get a hard copy. One of the other Disers on the ROFR thread said that they should be overnighted to us (which I'm guessing could mean either USPS or FedEx).

That's really weird. I also bought from Fidelity and they emailed me the docs. Who is your Title Company? Mine was First American.

Weird. My contract is going through First American too. I went and combed through my spam folder in my email to make sure I hadn't missed it and there was nothing there. :confused3

I went ahead and sent Rachel an email to get an update on the status of the documents. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

It did take me over a week to get the documents. First Fidelity has to wait for the estoppels to come back from Disney. Also, I specifically asked for the docs to be emailed, since I am in a hurry to book a trip.

Good post. Let your broker know (as sweetly as possible) that you are anxious to book a trip and that, upon receiving the documents, you intend to sign and send them back immediately with the closing check (next day would be best). Your broker gets paid when the contract closes and all the money has been received.

Got an email from Rachel at Fidelity this morning that said We approved your closing documents on the 17th. The title company will be mailing the documents to you. You should have by Wednesday or Thursday. so hopefully by the end of the week we will have our closing documents! Hoping to be able to book our vacation in the next few weeks!

I got a similar email from Sharon's assistant saying the title company was preparing my closing docs. Except hers said it could take up to 7-10 business days to receive them. :scared1: I really don't believe it will take nearly that long. Everyone who I've talked to who used Fidelity says the closing docs are usually overnighted. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll have mine this week too! Here's a little pixie dust for the both of us. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Okay a bit of an update. I called Fidelity and was put on the phone with Rachel (who apparently was the person who approved the contracts to go to closing this week). She's going to call First American and find out if they're planning to overnight my closing docs to me. If they are, perfect! If not, she'll ask them to email the documents to me so I can get them sent back in this week. Phew. :goodvibes

:yay: I think I'll shoot her another email and ask about overnight/emailing me the documents as well!
