Passed ROFR in only 1 week!

My wife and I decided to take the plunge and purchase a resale contract for OKW through the Timeshare store.

I got the call last Monday that we had successfully gotten through Disney's ROFR after only 1 week! After all I had read about the process I was expecting something much closer to the full 30 days.

Now I just have to get through closing so that we can make our first reservations as DVC members.

Thanks to all of you who frequent this board for your helpful advice that made our decision to buy easier.

We submitted for OKW last week and have not heard back yet.

Keep in touch with your agent for any questions or concerns that may come to you between now and closing. That is their job, to walk you through the entire process.

There is a ROFR thread on DVC Community Board that has been tracking who has/hasn't passed ROFR. You might want to post so that Beca can update it.

I too am waiting to close. I think there might be some backups due to all of the ROFR passing so quick as it is taking a bit longer than expected...

So how soon after a contract closes will buyers receive the members packet, cards, etc. from Disney? Our OKW contract should be submitted to Disney sometime this week. It'd be nice to have our DVC cards by the time we leave for Port Orleans on 9/29.

I assume you mean that your "final closing documents" are being submitted sometime this week? Or is your contract being submitting for ROFR waiver this week?

If you are submitting your final closing documents, those will go back to the title company (and they have to get both sets of documents from the buyer and seller). Then the title company notifies DVC to transfer the ownership, which could take 1-2 weeks. After that, you should get a membership packet in 30-days with temporary membership cards. I think someone told me the permanent DVC membership cards will come a month or so after that.
