Party tickets

We will be in WDW when the Princess & pirate parties are going on,my question is if we bought the party tickets do we need to use a normal admission ticket as well, also at what time can you go into the park with the P &P ticket if you dont need a general admission.

What rides will be open and will there be a special parade and fire work show?

you definetly need the regular admission tickets but as to the rest of your questions I don't know the answers - sorry

You will need to use a normal park ticket if you go into the park during the day but if you only intend to go to the P&p party you need a party ticket.
When we went we got in the park on a party ticket at 4pm. You will be given a wrist band to enable you to stay in the park after 7pm.
There is a parade and a fireworks show and you also get a velvet bag to collect your chocolates and jewels in.

As said, no other ticket needed if you are going after 4pm. We went again last Friday Eve for 2nd time. Official times were 7pm-12 but unofficially its 4pm-12.
It was almost like the park was closed there were so few people in there, only crowd was for the parade, even then it was only single people around the route.
Parade is different to any other and so are the fireworks, probably best in WDW apart from New Years Eve.

No Velvet bags or chocs this year though its was beads(lots of) card hats, pop ring, candy necklace.

Its worth going just to experience Magic Kingdom with walk on rides, no line all eve.
Only downer was we got in early to do Jungle Cruise as I knew it would be closed all evening, lined up for 40 mins(I never line for 40mins) and then the heavens opened, thunder and Lightening so they closed, we were due to go on next boat.

We want to do the P+ P party only so would go in after 4pm so how do we get the tickets? I would like to get them for sometime between 12th and 24th May.
Do we just get them on the gate or can I purchase on line and get an E type ticket.

You can buy them at the gate but you pay more. Discount if you buy in advance online and a bigger discount if you are Annual pass holder.
We usually swap any vouchers at DTD but did it on way to party last Friday, no line, really easy.
