I am trying to make a breakfast reservation for 5 @ Tusker on 1/21/14, between 8:00 and 9:00 am. I see a party of 1,2,3,4,6,7,8+ available but nothing for a party of 5? I reserved a table of 2 & 3, but is there any other way around this? If 6 is available can I book that even though only 5 will dine??

Yes, if you cannot find a reservation for 5, look for 6. When you check in at the restaurant let the CMs at the podium know that there are only 5 of you. For restaurants that require a credit card guarantee (such as Tusker House) you will not be charged for the "missing" guest as long as at least one person shows up for the reservation.

Always include everyone in your reservation because of the fire and safety codes. You can book for a number more than your group (e.g. 6), rather than fewer (e.g. 4). You can also reserve tables of 2 and 3 and when you check in ask if you can be seated together.

Book it for a table of 6,7, or 8 then call the Disney dining line and they can take off the extra guests for you. I saw a reservation for 6 for BOG and i hurried up and grabbed it, I only needed a ressie for 2 though. I called and spoke to an agent and she changed it to a ressie for 2 and released a ressie for 4 back into the system :) they don't mind at all! She even asked what I was celebrating and she added my birthday to the reservation :)

This. :thumbsup2 For some reason, the Disney dining system doesn't like odd numbered parties in general and parties of five specifically. I think it has some programmed-in constraint on occupancy percentages that limits how many tables for four it will assign to parties of three, tables for six it will assign to a group of five, etc. But since they don't apply the no-show fee to groups that show up a person short I just search for that next even number and book it with a "phantom" guest that won't be present.

I had reserved a table of 2 and a table of 3 to accommodate our dining party of five. I called Disney, we could leave reservation as is in hope that we could be seated together but they were unwilling to take the open party of six table and modify it for us.....

I called yesterday for a separate question but mentioned again about this split reservation. The CM was more than willing to adjust the party of six that was available and modify it to be a party of five. Guess it a depends to on who you talk to??
