I've been making my ADRs for my Nov trip and am finding that my party of 9 will need to be split to two tables many times. Has anyone gone recently with a large party? I'm wondering how lucky we'll be in getting the tables near each other or actually pushed together so it's as if we're at one table. These are the restaurants where I've been told we'll be split:

Planet Hollywood
Rainforest Cafe
O'hana
Boatwrights
Wolfgangs Cafe
50's Prime Time

Any info appreciated

Just did this with a party of nine a few weeks ago and back in October. We were split at Crystal Palace and Garden Grill, but with tables next to each other. GF Cafe, WCC and Chef Mickey's and Marrakesh we were seated together. 7 of us did Sci-Fi and we were in one car, but three of us were kids.

They really try to keep you together--or at least next to each other. Enjoy!

We had a party of 10 about a year ago, I was also told we would be seated at two tables when I booked ADRs. I think we always sat at the same table except once when most of the tables were booths. After I gave it some thought it was not a big deal if we had been split. Just get to your ADRs early and make the request in person.

There are a couple of things you have to consider when you have a large party.
If CRO says your are booked on two tables and you will be split, that is because that was the only way they could accommodate your party size in the system. Now, if your "reservation" is very early (when the restaurant first opens) then I would assume, in most cases, that they will be able to push table together and seat you at one table. BUT, if your "reservation" is in the middle of the serving time, or at the height of the dining period, then it is very difficult for the seating staff to predict which two tables in a specific server's area will both get up at the same time. The seating staff has to keep each server equally busy, and most servers don't like to leave a table empty, in the hopes that a large part will arrive as scheduled.
So, your best bet is to book early in dining schedule, as close to opening as possible, arrive early, request that you are seated together, and advise them that you are willing to wait to be seated together. If this is possible, I am sure they will do their best to accommodate you.

We had a party of 10 last June & I was told we would be split but we were only split once at CP & our tables were right next to each other.

Sorry to be nosy, but what dates are you going? We will be a group of 7 for most and couple days 9 over Nov 3- 11th. Wondering what other places you made ADRs and did you get what you wanted?
TIA

We are a group of 7 going in August and the only restaurant that told us they'd have to split us is Nine Dragons. We are reserved at Mama Melrose, Fultons, La Cellier, Spoodles and Liberty Tree Tavern. For Nine Dragons I was thinking as long as we get there early and are patient that we will be able to be seated near each other.

We had a party of 9 and were seated together at Garden Grill, Chef Mickeys, Rainforest Cafe, & 50's PrimeTime. We were told at all of them that we may be split, but they accomodated us everywhere. :goodvibes

Cool :thumbsup2 That gives me hope that I'll get mine. Trying to call in the next couple of days.

I was also told we would be seated at two tables when I booked ADRs for our party of 10 (7 adults, a 4YO and 2 1YOs) We were told that we would have to be split up on several occassions and yet we never were. Some of the places we went to were
mama melrose
1900 park faire
prime time
crystal palace
tony's

oh we went the first week in may.

For our 2004 trip, we were a party of nine. We were always seated at one table. While we did not eat any any of the restaurants you mentioned, here is where we ate (I cannot believe I remember this stuff):

Crystal Palace
Cinderella's Royal Table
Chef Mickeys
1900 Park Fare
Character Breakfast at AK

We're going this October and I was told that we would be split (party of 10) at every ADR we made. They recommended we get there early and request to be near each other and they would do everything they could to accomodate us but really, I'm not worried. We're just going to be eating- not spending the day. If we can see each other we'll be okay. I work in a restaurant so I understand that you need to split groups sometimes. It always amazes me when a large group comes into where I work (we don't take reservations) and gets so mad when they can't sit together. We had a party of 20 flip out on a Saturday night because they couldn't sit together. Like the person on one end of the table would even be able to talk to anyone at the other end anyway.

We had a large group last September (9) and was told of splitting. We ate at Kona's, LeCellier, Concourse without splitting. We were split up at the Plaza and 2 times for dinner at CRT (one was to celebrate my 50th birthday and the restraurant knew it as I had a cake ordered, but still, my kids and grandkids sat at a table separate from us and had a different server). So if they tell you they may split you, be prepared, as we run about 50/50 in being split.

they told me the same thing at prime time they had a large table for 9 of us but for the castle it was two tables next to each other so you will probably next to each other have no fear they will not put your party across the room from each other
