We are planning a trip with family for next June. What activities have others done with a group this size that is enjoyable. We are looking for something besides typical parks and chareter meals. Most are adualts kids that are 9, 5, 4. Looking for ideas.

Thanks

It really depends on your likes and wants. We were a party of 10 last year, 7 adults and 1 baby, plus 2 4 year olds. The oldest of the group was in her 70's.

The group did stick together a lot, and we planned lots of sit down meals at places like CG, Narcoosee's, etc because that is how the group usually vacations.

We did also do some times where the group split up. Frankly, it's tough to travel with 10 people. I crave my alone time, so ducked away several times. My friend's brother, who was paying for the whole trip, seemed to get a little bored of the kiddie rides (he couldn't ride Pooh 100+ times) so 'uncle' and I went on some adult rides so that he could enjoy his vacation too.

Think about what you like to do as a group, and make plans. We enjoyed our nightly dinner together, and most nights watched Wishes as a group. That's the part of the trip that the adults remembered and enjoyed most. (Of course, the 4 year olds like Pooh best, and can still remember every detail of that ride!)

In the fall of 2003 we did an 8 day trip w/ 12. 3 of them were kids (1 a baby). We did the character meals-- and I know you mentioned that, but they really were the highlights of the trip. Some of rented a boat in DTD.

In the parks we separated off and on. It's very hard to get a group of 12 moving anywhere all the time. So, it was best to spend about 1/3 of our "park time" together, and the rest doing our own things.

We really got the togetherness in our vacation by staying together. This wouldn't work for everyone. We rented the pool homes. They turned out to be a blast. On our off days we just gathered around the pool and it was like 1 big party. We did this most nights to as the parks closed early when we were there. It's what really made the trip. Now, I wouldn't be able to stay w/ just anyone. So, it does really depend on who you go w/ for this to be an option. We're doing this again this spring.

Not sure what type of budget you have. When my family went in April we did a private Animal Kingdom Parade viewing area. It was great, snacks, beverages and seating right on the parade route. We had 4 kids (9, 9, 3 & 4 months) + 6 adults. It was a huge hit! Great character interaction and nice and relaxing. If you want more details, PM me.

My whole family is going to celebrate my parents' 50th anniversary on August 1st -- that means 22 people total! We're doing the Hoop Dee Doo Revue all together and staying at the same resort but other than that everyone's pretty much doing their own thing. We'll probably trade kids with each other every now and then. It really depends on what your interests are.

We're doing this for the first time at the end of Sept. with now 13 people. I booked the Magical Firework Voyage for all of us. It looks like it will be so much fun! :cool1: I also booked Fantasmic/Dining and a couple of character meals.
I'm praying that we all split up somewhwere along the line! My SIL is insisting we all have to be together the WHOLE time......... :scared:
I hope it all works! :rotfl:
