This year is our first time to go to the F&WF and we have tickets for Party for the Senses on Oct. 14th. I know it begins at 6:30, but how early should we arrive? Any other tips appreciated. Thanks!

We're going that night, too! :goodvibes

I know the concert starts at 5:45. Are you planning to go to that? If not, I would arrive a bit after 6:30. I've read there can be quite a line to get in.

Are you dressing up? If so, are you wearing your nice clothes at the park or going back and changing? I can't decide about that!

Anyone else?

I would get there around 6:00 - get your plate & glass & program and begin to peruse that night's offerings to decide what sounds good to you.

Thanks for the info. I will probably dress up a little (skirt and sandals). We will change at the resort (BWV) before we head over. I don't want to be sweaty from spending the day at the parks.

We attended the Party for the Senses last year. When we got to the information table for the Food and Wine Festival, they told us: no shorts, no tennis shoes. So, we went out and bought some things because we hadn't brought anything suitable. That was fine-no problems. However, when we got to the Party, there were people in every kind of dress, so it really didn't make a difference. However, we were glad that we decided to follow protocol and dress up a little.

The PftS is wonderful. Terrific food, wine, and beer. We are going twice this year. Have a terrific time.

I'm a bit confused ..

I thought you had to line up to get in and they opened the doors at 6:30? From the posts above, it sounds like my info is wrong!

About the same time as the eat to the beat show ends, guests are allowed in - sometimes earlier, sometime not. It's in the interest of crowd control to let those who skipped the concert in prior to the rush arriving.

They let us in early last year, but NOT to the food! You get into a "holding area" with couches etc. They don't open the food area until 6:30 so don't panic that you will miss food if you are at the concert!

Looks like I will miss you.

I am scheduled for 10/14 right now (with my job who knows what will really happen?)

About how many tickets do they sell (how crowded is it) and at 6:30 when they do let you inside is there a better place to try get a table then others?

I also have some questions that I am hoping someone out there might be able to answer. We decided at the last minute to try and get tickets for PFTS September 30th. I hurriedly called and booked tickets while I was at work, but due to the prying ears in the next cube and time constraints, I didn't get to ask a lot of questions. I did ask if all of the information she was giving me about directions, times, dress code, etc would be sent to me. She said no. I asked if the information was online. She said yes. I can't find anything with the details about the party on the Disney website or otherwise.
For example, will I receive the tickets in the mail? When are we expected to arrive? She mentioned VIP seating for the concert, Eat to the Beat, 30 minutes prior to the show. Do I have to reserve seating?

I appreciate any help, anything at all. I’m so excited, but I’m in the middle of classes and work, so my research time is really limited. 

You don't get tickets in advance. If you go to the concert there will be a place to check in where they have your name on a list and then send you to the seating area. If you don't go to the concert you just check in at the Party location (the old Millenium pavilion)

While folks claim they wear park attire at the event I went to last year there was one couple in park attire and she looked MISERABLE! I wore Capris and sandles and felt fine.

I never had a table as I was solo, but it wasn't a real problem.

Not to contest your observation...however, over the last 3-4 years of PotS I've seen plenty of folks in shorts/tee shirts that seemed to be enjoying themselves. :)

I'd say it's an individual choice...but I wouldn't try to go say in a tank top. Bermuda shorts and a tee or collared polo has seemed to be fine however.

I would definitely feel out of place in park attire. Dh and I have been going to Party for the Senses for several years and although the 'dress' is not as dressy as in years past, it is still overall dressier than 'park attire'.
