Party Every Day - Updated 8/29/10

Next we made our way back to Main Street and stopped to grab some intense breakfasts at the Main Street Bakery, as we had several CS credits to use up.

2538.jpg

2543.jpg

2546.jpg

We all got these delicious strawberry “smoothies” (aka milkshakes) as one of our drinks, then juice or water as another drink, then some sort of pastry as the entrée.

2547.jpg

I got this ham, egg, and cheese croissant, and promptly discarded the salty ham and most of the cheese.

2548.jpg

2550.jpg

Liz got this chocolate croissant.

2549.jpg

Laura got a banana, not pictured.

We sat outside the bakery and enjoyed the scenery, and the tons of people who were still pouring into Main Street at this late hour.

Once we’d finished our breakfasts, we made it back into Adventureland.

2551.jpg

When we’d made it to the back of Adventureland, we rode Pirates, and as usual, had a swashbuckling time.

2560.jpg

Then we headed over to Splash and were delighted to find that we could ride without much of a standby wait at all! We didn’t even need to collect the FPs we figured we’d be getting.

2562.jpg

2564.jpg

After zipadee-do-dah-ing on Splash, we were in the mood for more singing, so naturally, we headed to our fav musical performance, the Jamboree! :thumbsup2

What a great show. :lovestruc

We then found ourselves in Liberty Square.

2591.jpg

2593.jpg

2594.jpg

And then took in a showing of the Hall of Presidents. Even better from the first row! :thumbsup2

After the Hall, we went to Columbia Harbour House to use up some more CS credits. None of us was hungry, but we were determined to use up those credits!

It was horribly crowded in there, but eventually we made our way up to the counters, endured the people who I will never understand who get up to place their orders and still have no idea what they’re going to order (after having been in lines for 20 minutes or so, having ample opportunity to look at the large posted menus :headache:), and finally ordered and received our food.

Laura and Liz both got the Lighthouse Sandwich minus the broccoli slaw – so it was just hummus and tomatoes.

2610.jpg

2611.jpg

Laura also got the best side/ dessert around – HSM apples, plus baby carrots.

2612.jpg

I got the salad with fried chicken in it. I just had a few bites since I wasn’t hungry, but it was really good. Terrible for you, but tasted good.

2613.jpg

I got chocolate cake as my dessert and could truly stomach only one bite because I was so full, but this little thing was delicious! The cake was really nice and the icing was really dark, rich, fudgy chocolate. I never expected something so good out of a little cake in a cup!

2615.jpg

After lunch, we made our way out of the MK.

We spent some time walking around the Poly grounds and lounging on the hammocks on the beach. It was divine. :cloud9:

Brenda Walsh was delighted to see Dylan McKay on our television during our break.

2646.jpg

After a while, we got ourselves ready and returned to the GHC for dinner at ‘Ohana.

2697.jpg

2700.jpg

The queue to check in was huge! But we didn’t have too long a wait to be seated after we’d checked in. While we were waiting to be seated, I ordered a Lapu Lapu at the bar and Liz got the Scott MC (or the Glowtini). Both were delicious, and the Lapu Lapu quite strong!

2701.jpg

2703.jpg

2704.jpg

Dinner this night was not as great as ‘Ohana usually is. Chef Steven came out to talk to Laura about her food allergies, and said the sides were all safe for her to eat, and then basically ran away. Laura was fine with eating the sides, but this was not the type of interactions with ‘Ohana chefs (like Chef TJ and Chef Julie who we’d had earlier this week) that we’ve had in the past. The food was good, but service was really slow! Once it came time for dessert, our bread pudding was brought out, but there was nothing for Laura, as the chef had told us earlier there would be. It was so late at this point that we didn’t care to remind our server or wait for a special dessert, so we just left.

Liz enjoying our favorite entertainer! :lmao:

We had to get back to the MK for some nighttime fun!

2738.jpg

2739.jpg

2744.jpg

We walked through Tomorrowland, but didn’t ride anything.

2749.jpg

2753.jpg

2756.jpg

We made our way back to Fantasyland, and watched Philharmagic.

2766.jpg

2767.jpg

Then it was time for Spectro, which we watched from Frontierland since we were already back in Fantasyland and couldn’t get back to Main Street in time for the start of the parade. It was a fine viewing spot except for a child who was pushed in front of us by his parents who was waving one of those light-up swords that strobes/ changes colors – I thought it was truly going to cause me to have a seizure. So we eventually moved away from that area.

2784.jpg

2786.jpg

2816.jpg

2818.jpg

After Spectro, we dashed over to Thunder Mountain, and rode twice. Thunder is just so much fun at night! :thumbsup2 We saw the beginning of Wishes from Thunder, and watched the rest from the exit area.

After Wishes had ended, we walked back through Frontierland and grabbed some cookies to go from the Frontierland bakery (had to use up those snack credits, and those cookies are the best!).

Then it was back to Fantasyland for a spin on the carousel.

2839.jpg

2843.jpg

After the carousel, we were exhausted, but really feeling like taking a ride on the TTA, so we headed over to Tomorrowland and rode. It was a nice way to finish our trip – the TTA was our first and last ride!

We then sadly made our way out of the MK.

It was then back to the Poly and time for packing. We packed and packed, then slept a bit, and then left on the Magical Express early the next morning.

Thus concluded another excellent trip to DW. And the next one will commence in just 6 days! Thanks all for reading and commenting on this TR, and we hope you'll join us for the next TR and on Twitter for our trip next week!

Woohoo for being first on Peter Pan! That must be so cool to just walk through the queue and board right away!

I like that they have the menu at Main Street Bakery. Makes it easier to decide instead of waiting to the last minute to see what's there. When I was at MK in April, a CM gave us menus for Cosmic Ray's, which helped so much because we were squinting to see everything!

OMG, I'd be so excited for HSM apples! Or ... I could go for that chocolate cake right because I'm having a chocolate craving!

I like the pic of the back of the train station. I don't think I ever really paid attention to it because when we're leaving, I think I'm just concerned about weaving in and out of the crowds. I need to pay more attention to appreciate my surroundings!

Haha, lucky Brenda! She had a good vacation then too!

Great pic of you guys squished on Thunder!

Woohoo for another trip! Make sure you post the link on this thread so I can find it!!! Can't wait to read that one too!

thank you for sharing your trip! every day looked like so much fun :goodvibes

and less than a week until your next trip.. looking forward to following along with your Tweets!

What?! Going again so soon!! Lucky!

Sounds like a great last day in the MK! Too bad about the chef at 'Ohana but at least you got a really great chef the first few times. :thumbsup2

Yes, it is so cool to be first on Peter Pan! And the CMs are always so pleased and excited! :thumbsup2

I agree, it's hugely helpful when CS places have menus with items and how they count on the dining plan. I'm sure the pictures on the Main Street Bakery menu also make things easier for non-English speaking guests. Disney should definitely make them and hand them out at the doors of all CS restaurants.

Brenda Walsh did have a great vacation, and looked dapper in her tie the whole time.

I'll report back here after our upcoming trip to link to the next TR! :thumbsup2

Haha, yup - the great thing about taking so long to finish this TR is that our next trip is right around the corner!

The 'Ohana chef wasn't too big a deal, but he was definitely not as accommodating as the other great chefs we've had. Here's hoping we get a great one next week! :goodvibes

Liz's expression at Ohana's is priceless! Looks like you had a great time and you are going in just days!!! Who are the players in your next trip? Where are you staying? Well, have fun and I'll look out for your next TR!

Liz will kill me for posting that pic once she sees it! :rotfl:

This upcoming trip will be me, Laura, and Liz again, and we're staying at the Beach Club. Can't wait for Stormalong Bay! :woohoo:

Only 4 days :yay: Bet you can't wait :teeth:

Loving the updates, a great last day at MK

Thanks for sharing your TR with us, its been a blast reading along with you :)

You all set? Packed up, tickets etc stashed in a safe place :teeth:

Looking forward to catching your Tweets, god knows I need something to distract me from work

Hey guys!

I'm stoked you finally updated this TR- I've of course been DISing away lately since I found out we're finally traveling to WDW! I'm appalled that you all missed Oliver at MGM; the Imagineer luncheon sounded like quite the strange predicament! My mom was expressing interest in the lunch but I insisted that spending $300 on a Wishes cruise was far more amusing and a much better investment!

I was also inspecting the carousel photos in hopes of identifying the Joe Jonas horse equivalent. :cool1: Laura and I have picked out a horse in DL that is quite the Joe look-alike however you can only tell if you look at it from the perfect angle from behind. I must be properly prepared for the WDW carousel version.

I'll be following your upcoming storm of Disney tweeting for sure!

:rolleyes1 Sure, we're all set.... No, we're really terrible about preparing in advance. :rotfl: I've bought everything I needed to buy, like toiletries and ponchos, but no real packing has been done. I've got a couple of piles of clothes and some ideas for what else I need to bring, but inevitably I will be doing my packing on Friday night. Laura, I can be sure, will be doing her packing into the wee hours of Saturday morning. It all always works out in the end though, and we make it there with all we need!

I'm sure our barrage of tweets will keep you plenty distracted! :thumbsup2

Why, hello! :wave2: I've been so happy to hear that you have become such a power DISer/ researcher! Can you please convince Laura that she and I should go down to DW and meet up with you for the beginning of your trip? I am dying to go at Christmas, and it sounds like you are planning quite the excellent trip, which I would like to join in on.

Good choice on the Wishes cruise over the Imagineering lunch. I would certainly have done the same. :thumbsup2

There's a Joe Jonas lookalike horse in DL? :lmao: That is awesome.

Great crew and I can't wait for the next TR!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I really insist that you and Laura meet up w/ us at Disney! :woohoo: That would be super duper awesome!! Excellent, so I will continue to pester her. We're arriving the night of Dec 17th and leaving the morning of the 23rd to go check out Potter World and drive to Cape Canaveral. If I manage to score a Wishes cruise reservation (I feel like I'll need to be on the phone w/ Disney at 4am again for that one) then you both can of course just come along since you can bring up to 10 people or so for each cruise. You guys also need to see if the ride hopper app is accurate for wait times at WDW. I just used it at Disneyland this past weekend and it was actually *really* helpful and accurate! I've heard that "lines" is better (from touringplans) but you have to subscribe for $10 and I of course refuse.

Bon Voyage!!!! :wizard:

Woot, please do continue to pester her! That's awful that you have to be up at 4 am to make a Wishes cruise reservation! :scared1: Good luck!

I haven't heard of the ride hopper app. I'll look for it today and then check it out in DW and let you know how it is. I had Lines on my phone while it was still in a free trial and it seemed good. Of course, the free trial ended the day before we went on our DW March trip! So, I was never able to do any real-time comparisons, since I also refuse to pay the $10. I will gladly check out this free one!
