Does anyone know why the partners statue is in the Studios park in DLP instead of the Magic Kingdom like it is in WDW, DL, and TDL? thanks

I asked this when we did the guided tour of the studios. Aparently there is no official explanation, but the unnoficial one the guide told was that because of Walts pointing hand gesture it could be misinterpreted by some Europeans. If it was in Main Street Walt would not be pointing to anything in particular where as in the studios he is pointing to Studio One.

Oooh I knew I had read that somewhere - and now I remember where it was - it was your trip report.

Ooh, that's where I must have read it  I vaguely remembered reading it somewhere but didn't realise it was on here.
I'd thought it was one of those urban legends like Walt being frozen!

Anyhow, I asked the same question on both our tours. I got the same answer by both tours guides ~ that when Blaine Gibson designed the original statue for Disneyland in California and it was decided to go worldwide with it, the Imagineers said that of all the Disney parks DLRP had to have it in the Studios as it's the only park that's modelled as a proper working Hollywood Studios and it was only fitting that Walt had to go there, right in the heart of Hollywood, especially seeing as Studio 1 is based on the first sound stage at the original Burbank studios.

They both told me this so I wonder if they've adopted this as the official line since you asked!! It will be interesting to see what others get told. :)
