Well, the time has come to begin to pack for the trip home. As promised, DH took DD for EE @ the Magic Kingdom. DS decided to stay behind with me to help pack. Thank you DS
, lol. By the end of our trip, he was only interested in purchasing pins for his collection..geez..that kid! It didn't take me as long as I thought it would to pack, so he and I went down to the Food & Fun Center for a little breakfast. We went to the concourse for a bit of last minute shopping...a few more pins for him, and some surprise gifts for DD. I sat for a few moments looking at the view from the Tower and thought about how much I wished I had a day to myself @ WDW. My day will come, hehe. We took our purchases back to the room, packed them away and decided we had time for a monorail ride before the others were to meet us back at the room at noonish. I had gotten permission from the front desk to check out at 12:30. We had a lunch PS at the Concourse Steakhouse @ 12:45 and Transtar Towncar was picking us up to take us to the airport @ 2:30.
So anyway, DS and I hopped on the monorail. When we got to the Polynesian, we decided to check it out. Very nice!! We really liked the looks of the lobby and pool area and decided we must stay there sometime. It was almost noon, so we headed back to our room to meet DH and DD.
They had a great time. DD was so happy to have the opportunity to do more rides at MK before we left. She loved the gift we got her, and she also had a gift for me! What a coincidence that it was exactly what I was thinking of purchasing at the Poly gift shop, but thought I should restrain myself!! LOL..it was perfect!
Bell services arrived at 12:30 to take our luggage to storage, and we headed over to lunch.
I must say that the Concourse Steakhouse was a very pleasant surprise. It looked kind of plain from the outside, but was very nice and relaxing once we were seated. They had a very nice menu and our waitress CM was my favorite of our entire stay. She was a most pleasant young lady and gave us excellent service. We enjoyed that meal alot as we sat there discussing a future trip to WDW!
We calculated that we still had enough time for one last monorail ride, and since DS raved about the Polynesian to DH, we headed over there. DH and DD were as impressed as we were.
We got back to the Contemp. just in time to get our bags and find our towncar driver waiting out front for us.
Our flight almost didn't leave on time due to lightening and a storm that seemed to be brewing, but at the last minute, it was given the go ahead.
We were sad leaving the World...but once on the plane..we were anxious to get home.
