We have some partially used tickets, but I can't remember how many days are on them. They are 4 day park hoppers issued in 1996, so there is a magnetic strip on the back. My question is: Where do I go to find out how many days are left? I'd like to know before I go in December so I can buy whatever other tickets I need in advance. Can the Disney Store tell me?

Many thanks!!!

PS I hope everyone at WDW is enjoying the warm weather....it's frigid again today in NJ - with a nasty wind.

There used to be a phone number that when you called gave you the information, however Disney discontinued that service.

WVL Five is correct that the Disney Store cannot check for you.

Guest services is your only option.

At the gate they can also give you credit on the unused days towards new tickets if it will work out better. If you expect five park days and have two or three days left on those ickets, it would probably be best to trade them in on five day hoppers.

While the resorts don't advertise it, and some CM's don't like to do it, the front desk can tell you how many days are left.

When I was checking in last time, there was a lonely CM at the next station, so I handed off my stack of PHP's and asked if she could please tell me what was left on them.

She did not even scan them in, just keyed in the code numbers on the back of the card.

Good Luck!

Thank you!!!! Guess I'll have to wait till December. I was worried about not being able to hop with those passes. I like the idea about trading them in towards new passes - probably our best option. They're adult passes, so I'll use them for DH and me and buy passes up here for the kids.

No, it's probably your worst option.

Those 4 day PH's from 1996 cost you $152.64 or $38.16 per day. If you upgrade those tickets, you will only get a credit of $38.16 per unused day to be applied towards buying those same days back again at today's prices. A 4 day PH today costs $221.52 or $55.38 per day. You will pay an extra $17.22 per unused day to buy back the same admissions at today's price that you already had.

Kepp the 1996 tickets and just use the days. Don't upgrade them. Nothing needs to be done to the tickets to use them on your next trip. Just stick them in the gate turnstile and you're in.

I believe your tickets are only good for the parks that were open in 1996 ---- not AK.

Thanks GoldenOldie - I was thinking they would say we had one day left and just charge us for 3 day hopper and give us a 4 day hopper instead. I also knew that they would only be good for parks that were operating in 1996 - no biggie for me because I'm not a fan of AK (it probably has to grow on me, first impression wasn't good).

Nope, they are good for all the parks. They changed that some time ago.

We will be going to WDW in Feb. I just got PH passes through a special sports promotion.($149/4 day PH plus 1 option, that includes Disneyquest). They do have an expiration date. My concern is now that we may not be able to use all 4 days.

Can I use any of these unused days towards a regular PH pass. I assume I would have to pay the difference, which would be what exactly, I don't know.
Basically my question is can unused tickets that expire have a credit applied to future PH passes?
What do you think?

Just wanted to share something I recently learned. If you have children's parkhoppers but your children are now older, you can take them to guest services and they'll reissue them as adult hoppers for the unused days!!!

That's great for us because DS is now 12 and we have 2 unused days for him!

Can someone tell me if you get a 5 day hopper PLUS with 2 plus options --do the plus options need to be used on one of the 5 days you enter the parks or can you go to a water park on the 6th and 7th day of your visit--or even on the next trip???

Thanks in advance for the answers!!!

You can use those plus days on day 6 and 7 if you want to. If you don't though the plusses are good forever.

We bought seven-day hoppers plus which comes with 4 options for each pass. We didn't do any water parks because the weather was cool, so just did parks everyday. I'll keep those, and on our next trip I'll just buy park hopper passes (not pluses) and use the options left on our old cards!

When you come home, write what is left on the card right on the card!

Probably far from best to trade them in. The exchange rate is very bad, you don't get a day for a day that way.

If you have two or three days left you will probably only get yesteryear's dollar credit worth one and a half or two days, if that, towards the new tickets at today's prices!

You are probably much better off using the old tickets as-is (you said they already have magnetic stripes and fit in the turnstiles) and buying new ones as needed.

Depending on your budget and planned future trips, 7 day park hoppers are a good bet for the remaining days of your vacation and save them for use as-is on your next trip.

Currently the old tickets are good at Animal Kingdom.

Disney hints:

If you buy new tickets before exhausting the old ones (for example for waterpark admission), things do get tricky. It is easy to use the wrong ticket at the wrong time if you carry more than one in your pocket, and you can waste two day's worth of admission on one day.
