I redid two days of my plan yesterday. I think that's enough for now.
After I calmed down enough to look at the plan objectively I made two changes.
First, I moved MSEP and Wishes to the following Wed. And It really was the only solution that didn't involve huge crowds and major rearranging. Wed, Dec 12 is an off day and we're tentatively headed to GF and WL to see Christmas decorations. So it would be easy to jump over to MK. Of course, there's the chance that we'll be too tired by then. But if we opt to skip it, then so be it. Not the end of the world. And really, there's just not much else we can do since they cancelled the 5th.
The second change I made was to swap Day 2 (Epcot) for Day 3 (MK). (No parks on our arrival day.) I had MK planned for Day 3 because it was a non- party day and we could do MSEP. But since they cancelled it and are closing at 7, now there's no real difference between the 5th and a party day. For my in-laws first time I much prefer MK as first park. Future World just doesn't have the same Wow factor. The only sticking point was my Le Cellier reservation at 6pm. So we're going to start with the MK Welcome Show and AM EMH. Then follow our leisurely MK plan. Then at 5pm hop on the monorail to Epcot. Diner at Le Cellier then end with Illuminations. Much more Wow factor there.
This also has the added benefit of introducing the in-laws to a full day of MK "rides" before I try to get them on Soarin. Being able to move Soarin to our first Epcot day solves the problem of trying to do it after the (now extended) Segway tour later in the week.
I wouldn't have asked for any of these schedule changes, but overall I'm happier with my current plan.![]()
That sounds like a fantastic first park day!! And solves the Soarin problem. I would think the parade and fireworks would work as an end to your off day. The morning and afternoon can still be relaxed and leisurely. Way to make a silver lining out of that cloud!!!
