The fondant cake looks awesome! I'll have to check on the mini ones since we'll be there for DS's 8th birthday.

We're planning to be in Epcot on New Year's Eve -- anyone else from the thread going to be there? If so let me know if you'd like to do a Dis-meet. I'll be there with my DS (7) and my Mother.

Wow that's a nice loooong vacation! I'm jealous, and I'm going for 2 weeks!:rotfl:

Posted on my PTR a little review of shoes for Disney in case you are interested. Can't blame you if you are not. :rotfl2:

I got in on the Keens sale too! :thumbsup2 I bought two pairs. One of the pairs I really love and the other pair, thats kinda like a mary jane, is a little small so I can only wear them when I won't be out too long :(. Does anybody else think they run a little small or am I just in denial about my foot size? :scratchin

Ugh stupid dishwasher is still broken!! Hopefully the changing of one part and I can wash them in the machine by Tuesday... If I didn't hope to sell this spring I would just get a new one....

So it looks like the mini cake is a go :) Now I have to get a few ideas. I've seen such cute pics.... From formal looking cakes to super fun looking ones....

Taaren your cake was so pretty! How did the fondant taste? I heard it can be interesting... :)

I always liked keens because they are wider... However I've never tried on the maryjane style....

The fondant just tasted like ... sugar paper ... would be the closest thing I could think of to it I guess. The cake inside was moist and delicious, though. Basically they had us pick a type of cake, a filling, plus a fruit, and it really overtook the flavor of the fondant, fortunately.

Darn it! Now you've got me thinking maybe I should order a mini-cake for our best friend's 40th birthday ... only problem is we can only get standard buttercream frosting cakes at Chefs de France, which he picked for his birthday meal. Maybe deliver one to the room later?

Btw, if anybody had an inkling of possibly adding on a cruise, the early December Dream cruises just dropped in price (I've been watching, thinking IGTs would come out). They're down about 1/4 from opening day pricing for the lowest category 11C, and there's not even any restrictions ... sigh. Our paid in full date passed yesterday, but I asked my TA to see if we could potentially downgrade to one of those then get one heck of an OBC in exchange. Probably not, but its worth asking. ;) Right now two adults could get on for $900 for a three nighter, which for DCL is darn cheap.

Sugar paper.... Yum!!! I'm glad it wasn't over powering. I think even the buttercream would be great but you are staying at BLT right? I think it would be very easy to have a cake delivered or pick it up. We had gotten a cake from Whole Foods in 2010 for my husband and enjoyed it in our villa... Plus side he and a friend enjoyed it the next day when I went out and enjoyed EMH with friends.... Granted they were in a sugar coma when I got back.... ;)

I have two pairs of mary jane Crocs, my Teva Mush flip flops, and my New Balance sneakers. Who knows how much I will actually be walking around WDW now, but my feets will look cute :) I do find that switching your shoes up, makes all the difference from WDW.

Mary janes are so cute but they just do not look cute on my feet *folds arms* they make my feet look a funny shape :scratchin

How are you doing?

Lots of changes to my trip this weekend!! Well, technically I haven't called Disney yet to make the changes, but somehow I had to post them here first. DB is not going with us. :( His band friends rent a cabin for a few days that same week every December. He chose to skip that trip last year and go to Disney, but he decided to go with them this year since it is his last year in the band. I am sad that he won't be with us, but I am okay with it too. I love them both, but my DH and DB are very different! We all get along, but I feel like I am always in the middle, trying to make them both happy. So I am excited to just enjoy Disney with DH. I am adding WP&More to our tickets so we can play lots of mini golf and go to Disney Quest--DH's choice. We are still doing MVMCP--my choice. We considered upgrading to WL for the same amount of money as the two rooms at POP, but decided to stay at POP and save that $1400 since I will need a new car soon. So after I call Disney today, our trip will be paid off!!!! :cool1::banana: I told DH that last night and a few minutes later he said oh my gosh, I think my blood pressure has gone down 10 points just from that stress being gone.

So now I get to make a new plan this week. :confused3

In other news, I saw Nemo 3D and I bought new tennis shoes so that can be marked off the list. Sorry Wedgie--they are boring. But they are black and grey, not white like my old ones. And I bought hot pink laces. That's pretty bold for me. :rotfl:

I am a sneaker girl and will have two pairs of New Balance with me. Changing shoes every day or even wearing one pair in the morning and one at night definitely helps!! DH didnt believe me and wore the same pair all week last year. He will be bringing a couple pairs this year. :rotfl2:

For those of you who have the Mary Jane Teva's where did you get them? I love Mary Janes and would love to have a comfie pair.

I have my Nikes and Sperry's for my shoes. I may take my flip flops in case its warm.

I can understand why DB isn't going (and I hope that is DB as in Disney Brother and not Disney Boyfriend :lmao:) and I know you're sad but it will be super special just you and DH - you have something new to get excited about now whilst the rest of us .... our plans are so last century now :p

I would have done the same and saved the money - that is A LOT of money so great decision on your part .... although .... you could maybe upgrade to a mod and still save money :rolleyes1

Ha! The hot pink laces will make those shoes *POP* so I'm good with that :teeth:

I keep reading this ....

 OMG  you know what this means?!?!?!

I NEED TO BUY MORE LOUD & CRAZY SHOES :woohoo: :woohoo:

:teeth:

I haven't really been on this thread (or the first one) in about a month. Just had to share that our ADR's are finally completed - Phew! Unfortunately, we lost out on 50's PT b/c I waited too long before trying to make the reservation :headache:. They are booked solid on our day and the only opening they had was for 8:45 pm, which is too late for us. So I had to book us at Hollywood & Vine instead. I'll keep checking though to see if there are any cancellations for 50's (although I doubt there will be).

The other two we lost out on was T-Rex for our arrival day and Chef Mickey's :(. Both are booked solid. I managed to get us Planet Hollywood for our arrival day and Kona Cafe for our other day (the latter being highly recommended on the restaurant board).

I'm ok with PH and KC but I'm really bummed that I waited too long to book 50's PT. I was really looking forward to going there again. I'm :furious: with myself for waiting so long. Yet DH, DS10 and my mom and brother are ok with it. Although, my mom now understands the reasoning behind the 180 day mark for making ADR's.

In the beginning (when we first started planning this vacation) my mom and brother had a hard time accepting it b/c they are used to the old way (their last trip was back in 1993). Back then you only had to make your reservations a few days in advance not months. With Epcot, I remember my father making a dinner reservation for Germany as soon as we arrived in the park. My mom and brother have since found out that this is not the case anymore. Reservations must be made weeks to months in advance or you risk losing out like we did with 50's PT b/c of me.

We thought about CSR. That is where I booked originally, months ago. I love the look of it, but I really want a food court. I would like the breakfast buffet once or twice, but not everyday. POFQ doesnt have any availability with free dining. CBR doesnt appeal to me at all and I think still has double beds. I forget why I didnt do POR. I know a lot of you are staying there. I think I was just looking up prices as we were talking and we decided to stay with POP so I just stopped looking. I might look into POR today.

ETA: I missed this the first time through--Yes DB is my brother not my boyfriend. :lmao:

It's Monday! Which this week isn't that bad. DS's birthday is today so he's enjoying a 'yes' day. He's excited to go to school and share his snack. He had his party yesterday at Monkey Joes (one of those moonbounce places) and loved it. Both my boys slept like rocks last night

On to exciting Disney news, I will be paying off our trip this week and ordering out MVMCP tickets and photopass+. I will feel so much better knowing its paid off and all we need I do now is save spending money and Christmas money (I plan to do a lot of Christmas shopping in WDW, and hoping one of those includes a trip for next year).

Still stalking ADRs for a breakfast either at MK or Epcot. If we get it fantastic if not oh well.

Hope everyone had a great weekend
