I can neither confirm nor deny my :cool1: status.

PS: we are only 20 pgs (300+ posts) from pt. 4

So what a day and a half? ;) although we do get quiet on the weekend.....

Really wanting to so Ohana, have checked and can get ADRs, only problem is that the family isnt on board with me! really? cant believe it.....thinking about making ADRs for 3 and letting the others fend for themselves, if the DH doesnt wantto go, can at least get the youngest DD to go with me!, maybe.....we arent big breakfast people, but this is the one thing I remember from when I was 9yrs old....maybe, just maybe it will have the save effect on her as it did me?.....

Me and my 3 sisters arrive Dec. 9th. Staying at the Poly:yay: I've never stayed there before and one of my sisters has never been to Disney! Just getting together will be magical! We live hundreds of miles apart and Disney seemed like the perfect place for a reunion!

How far in advance are we supposed to get our Mickey Mail? Do you still get it if it's a room-only reservation? Last time we went, I traded a week at our condo for OKW, and the exchange company never sent us anything.

As early as your 30 day mark. I'm hoping that Sandy didn't delay it.

You know you're a Disney fanatic when you are going to go see Wreck It Ralph at the midnight showing tonight, despite the fact that you have to get up at 7am tomorrow for work! :happytv:

:rotfl: DH got a little pixiedust: 2 weeks ago when he found in his email 2 tickets to see a free preview of Wreck it Ralph in 3D. He took DS and they both loved it!

It was sad here in northeast Philly, I only got a handful of trick or treaters. I have so much candy left over, my babies are too small for candy. I will be going to New York today to help the Red Cross, there power is still down all over. I will be over there for a week leaving the baby's with my sister while I got out and help. So happy I know the general manager at my local Walmart and he is donating 5,000 worth of food and supplies, so I will be taking that up there as well. Taking all the rest of my candy and making 100 or so trick or treat bags so when I see a little kid I can give them one. Hope everyone enjoys there weekend. One more month right!

What a wonderful thing to do!

Morning fellow DISers...

29 days from today, right at this time, we'll be 1.5 hours into our flight!!!

Does anyone else experience craziness before a vacation? It seems like anything and everything that can happen to mentally wear a person down or things being thrown into your life - all seems to come down before a vacation? That's kinda where I am today... :confused3 Makes you want your vacation now!! Maybe all these things happen so we appreciate it more when it does come? :sad2:

Still trying, without success to get into the Dessert Party on ANY of our nights... not happening...

Really leaning toward LaNuoba tickets, especially since ^^ isn't working out... Found decent seats for $99 each.

Will bring out the suitcases this weekend and might even put up our Christmas trees (only fluffing, no decorating)... that's definitely going to make me feel like it's right around the corner!

I still haven't fully committed to La Nouba but i'm leaning towards YES. I honestly thought about getting the tree out next week. The fluffing takes so long and it would be a huge relief to get it up out of the basement!

I totally agree .... my DH has always hated theme parks etc. 2010/2011 he battled with his health - minus the depressing details, we were preparing for the worst, it was a really rough time and in the end he was in bed for almost 6 months. He was NOT looking forward to Disney ... said he wouldn't go any rides, he was just going for our DD .... but it was the BEST THING EVER. Mentally, it helped him get over "staring death in the face" and he still says it was the best medicine he could have. It made him strong and it re-connected us. He was running from ride to ride, attraction to attraction like a huge kid - when I think of it, I see him running in slow motion :rotfl: When he got home, he had a re-newed outlook on life :)

Disney is truly magical! I kind of have a feeling the dh will really feel the magic too but I don't want to get my hopes up too high. I really want to book a bb offer but we already have something going on next July and he wants to go back to West Virginia to go deer hunting with his dad and bro next November.

With the state the Eagles are in? I'm not wagering my garbage on that team!

I have 3 fantasy football teams and although I do not have Jeremy Maclin on any of my teams this year, my Mizzou graduate has a special place in my heart!

For those of you who are scrapbookers - there's a new Disney scrapping podcast.

Yeah! Another bio!

:offtopic: Went to WW today. We didnt have a meeting last week, so for 2 weeks I lost 3.4 pounds. Total for 5 weeks is 10.6 pounds. :cool1::cool1:

That is wonderful! I just finished off the ice cream in my freezer. That stuff has just been beckoning me to eat it. Now that it's gone I should be able to get serious. ;) I wore my new New Balance tennis shoes to work today and I waterproofed my new Skechers today and plan to wear them this weekend as we walk all over downtown Chicago! My feet already ache just thinking about it!

Tomorrow will be ONE month until we leave and I have so much I have not done yet!!!! I want to do tue dyes yet for DH and I. I wanted to find cute shirts for us to wear on our anniversary. I thought, oh I'll have time. Yeah way to go procrastinator!!! It will get done if I'm up to 1am doing it. Plus all my other todos. Packing, making a must do attraction list, call bank to add a travel advisory to our account, sent a note to DS6's teacher letting her know my parents will be with the boys all week, leaving a note that my parents can seek medical treatment for my kids (hopefully they don't need that one). I'm sure there is more but I'm kind of frazzled thinking bout it, so I'm forgetting things. Better go sit down and write out a list.

I'm starting to have mini-panic attacks at night. I laid in bed the last several days unable to sleep.....running through my head our ADRs....hoping I won't forget anything important like my charger or my MVMCP tickets!

We leave in 43 days & are all so excited! I do feel a little bad as I read through all of the threads on, since we are not doing any planning or advanced reservations....all that I have planned out is which park on which day. We're just going to take each day as it comes.

It's my husband and I, along with our 2 teenage daughters. We haven't been to WDW since they were 6 and 8 years old.

Anyone else do this? And if so, what are your thoughts.

Welcome! I'm a freakish planner so I could never wing it but gosh how I sometimes wish I could! We are really looking forward to our ADRs, though, food seems to be the central theme of this trip!

Oh .... and btw everyone .... I GOT MY MICKEY MAIL TODAY :cool1:

Tweet From EasyWDW: Dtd already about as decked out as it gets for Christmas http://t.co/i5ZEMVET

You did? That means mine will be here any day.....but gosh, I'm leaving tomorrow morning with 2 of my sisters and my step-mom and we're going to Chicago for the weekend. I bet my Mickey Mail comes while I'm out of town....and dh will get it and open it and I KNOW he won't even get a tear in his eye as he does it! :rotfl2:

I will be going to a baby shower in upstate NY tomorrow. My aunt does not have a computer or internet. So I will be away from the DISboards on Friday and Saturday. I'm coming back on Sunday so I'm hoping to be on in the evening. DH is already teasing me asking how will I survive without the DISboards :rolleyes1

As it is right now, I won't be able to log into MyFitnessPal to log in my food until I get back.

So, I can't find my wallet... ;) Seriously at the grocery store getting ready to pay and poof it's gone! So I hope it's in the other car or on the table at home. Thankfully I had my checkbook :) however at my moment of weakness I thought of you Valgoof!!!

Also on a none Disney but travel related issue- my daughter used a public potty! It wasn't automatic but we gave her the post it's to make the toilet a "no flush" and I told her Mickey thinks she's awesome and is going to send her something later ;) it took two tries and is helping putting me at ease!!

Yeah for the potty....and I read ahead that you did find your wallet....girls, what are we going to do with you? I think we all have Disney on the brain (me included)!

Wanna help me with my touring plan since DH won't let me subscribe to Touring Plans?

Here is what I was thinking for AK (it doesn't match up with the Unofficial Guide, which is why I need your opinion. As a recap, our dates are 12/8-12/14. AK is our first day. Asterisks mark must-do's.

We have an 8:20 ADR for Tusker House
It would make the most sense to go on the safari, since we'll be right next to it. DH can run for EE FP while I am settling the bill at TH.
Then I was pretty much going to go clockwise around the park:
Pangani Forest
Planet Watch train (depending on EE FP return time)
Do the stuff at Planet Watch*
Flights of Wonder *
Maharajah Jungle Trek
EE if FP hasn't been used yet*
Snack at ice cream cart
Finding Nemo*
Boneyard
Primeval Whirl for DS, Triceratops Spin for DD and niece
CS lunch
Camp Minnie Mickey*
FotLK*

If we decided to take a break for lunch back at the house instead of in the park, we would probably go after Finding Nemo, then start in Camp Minnie Mickey when we return and then head toward Dinoland.
We will not be doing Dinosaur or It's Tough to Be a Bug.

I agree with going in an order.....but don't FotLK and Nemo have show schedules? I went through the map of AK with dh and I listed the things that I thought we could skip this trip. One of them was It's Tough to be a Bug....and he says, "I like that, do we have to skip it"? :lmao:

You know you're a Disney fanatic when you are going to go see Wreck It Ralph at the midnight showing tonight, despite the fact that you have to get up at 7am tomorrow for work! :happytv:

Hubby wants to see that....but it may have to wait. I'm out of town this weekend and his first priority is the new James Bond movie. When does Brave come out on DVD? I want the new Tinkerbell movie too!

So what a day and a half? ;) although we do get quiet on the weekend.....

Oh, I'm sure it'll be while I'm out of town this weekend! :hyper: At least I won't be in the wilderness and should be able to use my cell phone. Not sure how much time we'll have, though.

Me and my 3 sisters arrive Dec. 9th. Staying at the Poly:yay: I've never stayed there before and one of my sisters has never been to Disney! Just getting together will be magical! We live hundreds of miles apart and Disney seemed like the perfect place for a reunion!

I know you will have a wonderful time! I love my sisters!

From one mother to another I know what a HUGE deal that is! Congrats :teeth: I had a terrible time getting mine to use public toilets - I didnt offer you any advice earlier because I didn't have any HA! Nothing worked for me, I just had to wait until she decided she was going to use them :rolleyes2

Thank you! So happy to permanently be here. Yes, that was probably me! I have been a single mom for almost 4 years and had HOPED beyond hope that nothing would get in the way of trip for my girls and I in 2011...and that didn't happen. So, in 2011 I decided nothing would keep us from going in 2012, which prompted the beginning of that thread a year ago but, under very different circumstances. I had been dating a new guy for about 6 months and was still planning on a 2012 for just the girls and I. BUT...the year has been full of ups and downs...the biggest one being that DBF and his DS have moved in...we have a LONG list of things we are looking so forward to doing together...but, decided that starting with a family trip...as a family of 6...would be our first priority! It was supposed to be a surprize but, he is so excited that HE is the one who had to spill the beans last night!:rotfl: I love that he is so excited and I am so exited to start the planning!!!
That's great that your DBF is so excited! So glad you're able to go for sure!

For Pirates League use the "Break" feature. Tell it your staying inside the park and set the times.

Here's the form to report TP bugs.

Awesome ... I was going to hunt around on the TouringPlans site to see if there was a form like that! Thanks!
Morning all!

Back with power, finally got to go home last night.

Also, ONE MONTH!

I'm getting married, and going to WDW next month.

What an awesome thing to be able to say.

:cool1::cool1::cool1:
Awww .... that's so sweet. I wish my DH had been that excited about getting married. I think he was more excited about Disney ... but then again maybe we both were.
I have stayed a OKW a lot (home DVC resort) - we haven't used the buses in a while because it was easier to use our rental car. However if you are in the HH section it's a easy walk to the main pool, Olivia's, community hall etc. There is quite a few bus stops in the resort and when you check in I would figure out which one is closest. There is also a boat that runs to DTD which is a fun little ride. There is also a OKW Lovers Thread that has a bit of info on it. Here is a map of the resort if you haven't stumbled upon one yet!
Wow. I hadn't realized just how large OKW was. We have 2 studios our first night, one HH and one non-HH (that's all that was left when we booked a month ago). I guess the best thing will just to be to take our luggage to the lobby to have it sent to BLT, and meet there to head to AK?
You know you're a Disney fanatic when you are going to go see Wreck It Ralph at the midnight showing tonight, despite the fact that you have to get up at 7am tomorrow for work! :happytv:
Wow that is dedication! We'll probably go to the Saturday matinee, but I'm really looking forward to this movie. Let us know how much you enjoy it!

<warning, sarcasm ahead> Oh, there's more that I just found out last night after posting on here. I may not be able to get back on Sunday  Reason? The New York City Marathon! The mayor has decided that this will still take place! So many people are in an uproar saying it should be re-scheduled/postponed. The City still have several places without power or food and others that have lost everything and are staying at hotels. They're still recovering from Sandy. One DISer posted that her refugee cousin was told by the hotel she is staying at that they have to leave today (Friday) to make room for the marathon! You gotta be kidding me!

There is a thread going on over on the Community Board forums and so far it's only 2 pages. If anyone is interested here's the link to it: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3016070

Rho - will this effect you at all?

I'm leaving around 8 am Eastern Time this morning. I won't be able to check back here until I get back (don't know if that will be Sunday or Monday now).

Morning, everyone!!!
It's Friday and one day closer to Disney!!!!

It effects me every year. I understand it brings money into the city, but it's a huge pain. They run right up First Ave, which is about 150 feet away. They close our block, so if we've gone out and have gone shopping we can get to our building but we can't get the car back to the garage. Not to mention, if we need to get across First Ave we'd have to walk over 15 blocks either way.

I really think they should postpone/cancel it this year. So many don't have power/food/housing and this just adds to a burden on city resources.

The people who are being told to leave the hotel-if they are in a major brand, I'd be calling corporate home office, and the local news. I'm sure the news would love that story.

Drive safely!

First of all, good morning everyone!

Secondly (but more importantly), that just isn't right about the marathon still taking place. Burdening all those native residents after all they've been through? Making them move out to accomodate runners? That makes me ill!

Haha, she's said multiple times that I seem more excited for Disney than the wedding. Don't get me wrong, I'm wildly excited for our big day, but I'm ready for some relaxation.
