I got DH's stomach bug. WAH. Thank goodness for Zofran. Staying home today. If you see me on here later, remind me to keep hydrated!

We spent 5 days at WDW April 2011, it was so crowded and hot! I hope since we are taking out 12 year old out of school that the crowds should be lighter at the beginning of December.

You're right we are Disneyland crazy, well at least my son and I are! lol

Have you done Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party? I'm just trying to find out if my tween is too old for it?

I have not done MVMCP before so I can't answer, but I love the response (below) that you got. Makes sense to me! The crowds will be lighter in early December and the weather, nice and dry! I would just make sure you pick parks on their recommended days as then the parks will feel even a bit less crowded.

I don't think a 12 year old would be too old. If he doesn't care for the parades and meet and greets, there's always the bonus of riding the rides without long lines. My son just turned 10, and I still think he will have a blast at MVMCP. 1) It's Disney World! 2) We're encouraging him to stay up way past his bedtime. 3) He's not in school!

I see I have a few more pages to catch up on today, which I'll do later. Anywho, I'm unloading the dishwasher and all of a sudden I start getting into the Christmas mood. Yeah, a bit early I know, but I usually get the "bug" for Christmas music towards the end of October. So right now, I'm listening to Christmas music on Pandora (since Live 365 is currently having problems) . It makes our vacation seem so much closer As of next Monday, we are exactly one month out before we leave

I was wondering because I actually don't need tickets to the park, but I was interested in a dining plan. My cousin goes down to visits family and sometimes hit up Disney while they are there. So I was inquiring to see if I could sell the tix to my cousin to use. Figure it could possibly save both of us some money. Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure you can get the tickets separated from your KTTW card. You have to buy them but Im sure you dont have to use them. There's a ticket sticky on the Theme Park board. Check there. There is a ticket expert (I.e. someone who works in Guest Relations) on that board.

Its our first time also and after all my research, we are also doing the second parade as it is less crowded.



Absolutely not! Thats a funny age in the sense that they want to grow up but secretly they still want to be those little children.

My DD said to me (she's 12 next month) that she can't wait to get back to Disney because she feels free there and can be a child and there are no 'mean girls' to judge her .... made me a little sad but then I remembered what that age was like for me.

This makes me sad too I often tell my husband (especially after reading of so many tragic events that occur on a regular basis) that I want to home school my children, never allow them to leave the house (except for vacation in WDW) and basically shelter and take care of them for the rest of thier lives... I know I know it's not the "right" thing to do, and I'd probably do more harm than good (with the whole never letting them co mingle with the general public) but I still want to... Plus since my daughter started pre-k shes been a germ sponge...

This makes me sad too I often tell my husband (especially after reading of so many tragic events that occur on a regular basis) that I want to home school my children, never allow them to leave the house (except for vacation in WDW) and basically shelter and take care of them for the rest of thier lives... Its tough, this age has been a real culture shock. We raised our girl to walk to the beat of her own drum - find stuff that interests her, not what interests everyone else. And I love that in her, her hobbies are very individual .... she has no interest in boys (yet) and finds it crazy that people wear clothes with the shops name on it (but thinks its funny that no-one wears a t-shirt with Kroger or Walmart across the front HA!) .... and yet, thats what most of the girls are interested in now - boys & clothes from Hollister/Aeropostale.

Of course we want to shelter them, thats natural, but I look at it this way, the next few years are going to be tough but my DD will find her way in life earlier and be comfortable with what she likes. The others will just be starting that journey.

And of course I bought them new toothbrushes last week when DS2 was diagnosed. Guess I'll be gettin more next week.

You can do this. Just ask them to take the tickets off your KTTW. You will get paper tickets. They are transferable to anyone as long as they have not been used. Other people have probably already said this, but I haven't read the last 5 pages yet.

Do they have the Osbourne lights at HS every night?
Also do you think my son 12, a tween would like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party? I wasn't sure about this?

Osborne Lights are every night from about 6:00 until an hour or so after the park closes. And they are AMAZING!!!! We went one night last year and my camera battery died. So I made my family go back the next night so we could see them again and I could take pictures.

The Christmas party has a special parade and fireworks. If he is not interested in any characters, he could just ride rides all night. The lines should be shorter than on a normal night. This will be my first party too!!

You don't think a 12 year old tween is too old for MVMCP? I'm trying to decide if I should buy tickets? My son just turned 12 in August.

My nephew was 11 when we went to MNSSHP. We all though he wouldn't want to dress up in a costume, meet characters or trick-or-treat. In fact, he had a blast! When he heard I was dressing up like Snow White he begged me to make him a dwarf costume, and he ran around with his younger sister and cousin trick-or-treating and wanted to meet lots of the characters. It definitely wasn't too "young" for him at all!

I don't know about MVMCP, I haven't been to one yet, but I'd imagine a 12 year old would still have lots of fun. The parade and shows are cool no matter what age you are, and even if he doesn't want to meet characters there's all the rides he can go on that'll likely have shorter wait times than normal too.
