PART THREE! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

So I opened an envelope from my mortgage company this week and the envelope contained a check. My property taxes had dropped and apparently they had withheld to much for escrow. So not only did my mortgage payment go down by $100/ month. But I have a check for $1900 that I was not expecting. That makes the trip budget a lot less tight. :)

WOW! Looks like you got some extra pixiedust: magic spread your way! Congrats!

My biggest issue is 6 adults - and 2 children and the breakdown would be off :) I wonder how many people the wagon holds. We are doing HDDR and this may be a viable option! Thank you though!

When are you going to HDDR??? What day/time????

Holy cow! Congrats! Did you husband tell you that it doesn't go into the Disney account or did you tell him about it? ;)

Well, I did briefly think about that conversation two weeks ago re: a short F&W trip. ;)

But really we had some unexpected expenses this summer so with Plan A our budget is a lot tighter than I would prefer. So I did the sensible thing and used it to pay for what we already have planned.

I just keep telling myself I'm too busy the next two weeks anyway to plan another trip. And by the time that's over Ill be freaking out over how close the Dec trip is. ;)

We told our kids we were going to Fla but didn't tell them we were staying at WDW. They know we are going to visit there for maybe a day...little white lies don't hurt right?

My boys are 6 & 2, and my parents are staying at our house with them. Plus we plan to go next Sept for DS6's birthday.

I'm right there with you... When the time comes we're going to "Orlando"... They'll ask if we're going to WDW which of course, we'll say yes and then they'll ask if we're staying there too... which we will respond with a very confident "NO, we are not"... which technically is true because we're across the street at DTD Hilton... ;)

I'm hoping that will bring them off the ledge... that and promises of lots of goodies :thumbsup2

Hmmm I may resemble this remark. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

It sure does! I'm wondering what are we going to do once everyone's had their vacations and the December 2012 Roll Call thread is no more

We will have the Dec 2012 Roll Call Group Trip Report, Pixie Dust Moment, Group Therapy Thread :)

hello pixie dust! I got a letter about mine going up! HA. Just 10 a month though. thanks to homeowners going up a tad.

Mine go up every year, in the past 3 years my mortgage has gone up $300 because of taxes. It sucks. :( However Terri - that is awesome!!! Money around vacations and christmas is always so helpful!

When are you going to HDDR??? What day/time????

12/5 at 4pm :) Are you going?

Ah yes! The Trip Report! And we will definetly need the group therapy for the withdrawl we will be going through :rotfl:

Good morning everyone!
I see I have a few more pages to catch up on today, which I'll do later. Anywho, I'm unloading the dishwasher and all of a sudden I start getting into the Christmas mood. Yeah, a bit early I know, but I usually get the "bug" for Christmas music towards the end of October. So right now, I'm listening to Christmas music on Pandora (since Live 365 is currently having problems) :santa:. It makes our vacation seem so much closer :goodvibes As of next Monday, we are exactly one month out before we leave :cool1:
I get the Christmas bug, too, but I force myself to wait until the day after Thanksgiving- then I wake everybody up to Handel's Hallelujah Chorus blasting on the sound system. :rotfl:

Oh em gee. I go away for a week and I have about 80 pages to catch up on? :rotfl2::rotfl2: Good thing nothing is pressing in the office today! I hope all is well with everyone. 50 days to go! (can't wait for tomorrow!)
Oh, hey, here's the person with the hot EJO avatar. :) I'm not stalking you, I'm just a die hard Battlestar Galactica fan- I even have the drums from the title theme song on my ringtone. It does get one's attention.

So awesome! :thumbsup2 I'm the designated FP runner as I don't do rough rides, so that just made my day. Think I'll grab a cup of tea and settle in for a long planning session...

Okay I finally made it to the end of the posts, for now. :grouphug:

We are staying in Marriott Harbour Lake timeshare. I read somewhere that we probably won't need the front of the line passes, because we will be going the first week of December.

The Harry Potter area will most likely be crowded. My DS read all the books, he's a self proclaimed nerd and IOA is the big deal for him, this trip. I've already told him I know there are rides DH and I will not be going on and he's good with going on his own. Of course we will stand in line with him.

I will ride everything at Disney, but I don't like the rides that could hurt my poor ole neck. :rotfl:

Gotta go, have a great day everyone! pixiedust:
I've got a bad neck, too, and learned my lesson on the Drop Zone at Great America in CA. I ruptured a disc in my back- ended up with an MRI and of course I have arthritis all through there that I didn't know about but should have, since it's in my neck (I have had RA for about 10 yrs). So for anyone who might have back or neck problems- LISTEN TO THE WARNINGS. I've had one steroid injection so far and let me tell you, I'm so sorry I blew them off.

Hence my being the designated FP runner- (actually, I don't run, I zip):moped: I can't do a theme park without an ECV. I resisted for a long time but wow, does it ever make a difference!

Also, my DD18 is a huge Harry Potter fan, too. I'm not going over to IOA with the family when they go during our upcoming vacation. Since I'm going to have to skip the rides and IOA is not as non-rider friendly as Disney (and since once day at IOA is expensive) I'm going to hang around Stormalong Bay or maybe just have a spa day.

Yay! We're at 38 days from today!!!

My birthday is in 11 days so that's helping make the time go by quick!

Our plans are pretty much nailed down with the exception of a few things I'm thinking I'd like to add...

Keeping hoping I can snag the dessert party for either 12/1 or 12/3 - so far, no such luck...

If I can't get the dessert party, might look to add HDDR and then a sleigh ride?

The main things on our list (my list really, of which he's a part of) are:

Osborne Lights on 12/2
Fantasmic and/or Dessert Party on 12/3
Candlelight Proc. on 12/4 (soooo excited about this one)

it's sooo incredibly hard to think about anything else but this trip... There are so many things that need to be planned before then like Thanksgiving and house decorating BEFORE we leave... it's going to be a very stressful November - which will make this trip that much more enjoyable.

Doesn't the Disney web site have a Santa video that you can personalize with presents and kids names and such? That might be a cute way to do it. In fact I wish I had surprised my son with this. Although one time, a couple of years ago, we surprised him by picking him up at school and getting on the highway for a couple of hours before he realized that something was off! I swear. When we finally told him what we where doing-going to DL for 3 days he wasn't as excited as I had hoped.

off topic- did anyone watch the Giants/Cardinals game last night. I swear the rain in HDTV looked like pixie dust! Go Giants!!

My DD said to me (she's 12 next month) that she can't wait to get back to Disney because she feels free there and can be a child and there are no 'mean girls' to judge her .... made me a little sad but then I remembered what that age was like for me.

It's aweful how mean girls can be!!!:furious:

Interestingly enough, my 9 year old was crying herself to sleep the other night because some girls were mean to her and she said that she can't wait to get to Disney so she can get away from all the mean, fake girls.

Just breaks my heart:sad:

Happy Birthday to both of you!

12/5 at 4pm :) Are you going?

That is the date and time we are going also....we are in section 2 though....we ended up renting a golf cart there for the night to drive ourselves around to look at everything and try out the Chip N Dale thing they have there every night. I'm hoping to catch the Electical parade that night there also. I don't know how DH or my DS are going to do at HDDR....they are either going to LOVE IT or HATE IT.....I know they will both love the food though so thats a plus right?? :)

Yeah, it's not awesome that home values in our neighborhood dropped, which is why taxes dropped. But I can't really do anything about that so for now I'm happy to have the cash. :)

Nice! We are pretty excited for it, we have done it before and I am sure my girls will love it, as well as the rest of the family. :)

Yeah my taxes go up and up and up and my house value has gone down.... We have a break even number for our mortgage and realtor fees when we sell, we know we are not even going to be able to recoup the $$ we have put in. It sucks. However, it's a lesson and the money lost will be worth moving somewhere that has a good school system and better things for our family as a whole.

Happy early birthday to you both too! :dance3:

it's funny because normally, I'm making sure all the gift-givers are "prepped" with a list of what I'd love to get as a gift (tacky, I know, but better than trying to wear that fake "oh wow, for me?" grin) plus my mom and manfriend would much rather know what to buy than guess... anyway, this year I keep focusing on so many other things that I keep forgetting it's right around the corner! Now that I think about it, maybe it's my subconcious (sp?) because I'm mentally trying to block it out! :confused3

So, I had quotes saved open in another window and then my browser crashed and I lost them and I'm too lazy to go back and find them. I think my comments were something along the lines of:

I love short hair. Mine takes 5 minutes!

Hooray for escrow checks!

I booked my whole trip at work. :rolleyes1

And I am SO going to need some group therapy when I get back!

DBF bought my presents with me there. 2 Coach purse and a wristlet and 2 pairs of shoes I wanted. He said it was easier and I'm fine with it. I get what I want. Plus I know he has plans for Saturday night.

I can't believe how close the trip is!

DH and DS10 stopped watching once the Yankees lost and were out of the series. I don't even know if they will be watching the series or not. I think they are starting to switch gears to football now.
