Good morning everyone!
I get the Christmas bug, too, but I force myself to wait until the day after Thanksgiving- then I wake everybody up to Handel's Hallelujah Chorus blasting on the sound system. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Do they :scared1: out of bed?

Doesn't the Disney web site have a Santa video that you can personalize with presents and kids names and such? That might be a cute way to do it. In fact I wish I had surprised my son with this. Although one time, a couple of years ago, we surprised him by picking him up at school and getting on the highway for a couple of hours before he realized that something was off! I swear. When we finally told him what we where doing-going to DL for 3 days he wasn't as excited as I had hoped.

off topic- did anyone watch the Giants/Cardinals game last night. I swear the rain in HDTV looked like pixie dust! Go Giants!!

Oh I watched the game!!! It was awesome! I was going for the Giants too and the rain was insane! Insane in the membrane, insane in the brain... Sorry, couldn't help it... :rolleyes1

but as for your suggestion of the santa video... um, lets just say, I think my girls would look at that and say "really, mom?!? It's bad enough you went without us and you bring us a personalized santa video?" yea, don't think that would go over too well... but a bag of salted caramels from Goofy's might help ease the pain :thumbsup2

The surprise is out of the bag; we told the kids on Sunday they gave us the perfect lead with asking us to call santa and ask him for tickets for Disney. So Jeff called Santa and he said yes. The kids were like that's great hey can we go play. I was a little (okay a lot) disappointed in their reaction, but let it slide. So last night at dinner Kate (DD) asked how many more days until we go to Disney I said 39 days. Her eyes looked like a deer in the head lights, she screamed and said we are going this year. Jeff and I both looked at each other with a confused look, the kids thought we were going next year at christmas. After we explained the situation we got the reaction we wanted the jumping up and down and the faces all aglow.
:santa::santa::santa:

DBF bought my presents with me there. 2 Coach purse and a wristlet and 2 pairs of shoes I wanted. He said it was easier and I'm fine with it. I get what I want. Plus I know he has plans for Saturday night.

I can't believe how close the trip is!

That's pretty awesome! DBF is like that too - he'd rather me pick it and him buy it than attempt to remember what I wanted, the size, the color and then get it wrong... but he's the same way! He's soooo hard to shop for because if he wants it, he buys it... so yea, for a while, I didn't like the whole, "just tell me what you want" idea but now, I realize it's not so bad...

Well no wonder they didn't act too excited at first, they thought they still had over a year left. But yay for you (and them!) that they were excited once they realized how close the trip is!!!

I send DH screen shots of what I want hahaha

I'm just joining this thread (just joined the Facebook group, too)! So much to read through!

We have 60 days to go. Here are our plans so far:

12/22-Arrive midday sometime. Spend the afternoon at AK, head to DTD, and eat at EOS.

12/23-Breakfast ADR at Chef Mickey's, spend the day at MK, dinner ADR at Liberty Tree.

12/24-Epcot, dinner ADR at Via Napoli

12/25-open day (not sure shared might do). Dinner ADR at Boma (had originally made ADR at Liberty Tree, but decided I didn't want the stress of MK on Christmas)

12/26-HS, lunch ADR at Teppan Edo, and back to HS for nighttime.

12/27-Will either spend a couple hours at one of the parks or go to DTD before we leave.

We know it's going to be crowded, but we're just going to have fun!

Hi! Fun is what is all about right?

:santa:

Yeah, it's not awesome that home values in our neighborhood dropped, which is why taxes dropped. But I can't really do anything about that so for now I'm happy to have the cash. :)

yeah that part sucks. :( our neighborhood has dropped some, but not to the crashes other areas have had.

:scared1: it just occurred to me that I have not been to the disney website to check or tweak ADRs or anything today. quick somebody hand me a thermometer :eek:

So I went over to touringplans.com with great anticipation because they had added a feature where one could incorporate a FP runner into the touring plan. From what I can tell, all it does is add the words "Using a FastPass runner, remaining party skips this step." In green.

But, despite what it claims to do, it still might add in the time it takes for the FP runner. I've tried it several different ways and it just doesn't work.

For instance, selected an FP for TSM when the park opens, then RnR. It showed my FP collection at 9:05 and RnR at 9:13. If I try RnR first and enter the FP retrieval second, I get a FP distributed at 9:24. You can't do two things at once. Other times it causes the party to wait.

Fail.

Someone please tell me I'm just doing this wrong!

I'm pretty sure the answer to this question is going to be yes, but I feel more comfortable knowing for sure. My mom and I were wondering if there are any ATMs available at the resorts and in the parks.

I ordered a cookbook when I ordered my camera and it came yesterday. DH kinda looked at me, like why did you order that. I said I was going to tell you I want it for Christmas, but I knew you would never remember it so I just bought it. He was okay with that. :thumbsup2

So, I've been going back and forth on whether or not to do a CP dinner package, and finally decided that since I've never done it before, I will! I just booked one for 11/30 for the 5pm show. It's actually a Lunch instead of Dinner, but that's fine with me since it's cheaper :thumbsup2 I was going to go with Coral Reef, but it's $20 less for Biergarten, so I went with that instead. It's funny, for solo trips I go cheap, but if I'm with someone I'll go for the more expensive option. :rotfl2: And now I'm excited to get to hear Whoopi Goldberg!

It's aweful how mean girls can be!!!:furious:

Interestingly enough, my 9 year old was crying herself to sleep the other night because some girls were mean to her and she said that she can't wait to get to Disney so she can get away from all the mean, fake girls.

Just breaks my heart:sad:

:-( this makes me so sad. I don't understand why kids are so mean these days. Like I remember eating picked on some, but nothing like the stories of what happens today.

:welcome: to the group!!!! I think dinner on Christmas at a resort is a great idea. Then you can decide if you want to venture into a park or just take it easy and resort hop or swim.
We fly out the day you arrive. :( Where are you staying?

Oh I think for Whoopi you would need a package!!! And with Biergarten, hopefully you will be seated with a fun group and you will have a meal not eating solo. (I typed 'eating alone' first, but that seemed so sad). :lmao: I think my next trip will be a solo one, so I loved reading your TR!!!

I don't get it either. I was overweight in school and got made fun of plenty, but it was not so bad. Kids also being so connected with texting, social networking etc etc etc makes it so hard to get away from. One of my goals as a relatively new parent is to try and make sure my kids have a good moral compass because these things break my heart. I know its not all me, but I also want them to know there will be consequences if they every are so unkind to people.
