Hello everyone! We will be at Disney for Christmas this year. I am officially listed on the roll call list, arriving on the 13th of December. I may have posted in the 1st part of this thread, but I have been busy since then with family matters, teaching, organizing and planning another vacation etc. Now I am back in full blown Disney planning mode. I can't believe that when I post this, my ticker will be less than 2 months!!!:cool1:

Originally we were booked at ASMo with a FD pin for a two weeks. I will never know what possessed me to save a couple of dollars and NOT book AoA - LM section:confused: At first I tried to be excited about ASMo, but I couldn't stop thinking about what a fool I have been, especially since with the pin, FD was actually available with AoA as well, whereas with the general public FD offer, it was not offered. So, I have tried to change my reservation once already. Of course AoA LM section was all booked up for our two weeks right over Christmas...not that I was shocked over this news! Yesterday I was bored, checked availability at AoA and the LM rooms showed up! So I called just to check if I could change resorts and to make a long story short, I was able to switch using my pin!!!

So, now we are spending 2 weeks at Christmas at AoA!!!

ONLY 59 MORE DAYS:banana:

DH invited me to join him on FitnesPal so that we can log in our eating habits and excercises. I just joined yesterday and I'm going to start logging in what I eat today. Since I'm still trying to heal with a (now small) inflammation in my left foot due to a cortisone shot, I'm going to use the excercise bike we have. At least I can get some excercise in :cheer2:

That's a good idea. I have always found I do better when I write down my eating & exercise activity. I walked with the dog yesterday after very little exercise the past few weeks - I was sick and then busy; the kiss of death for me. I tend to do well for a while and then something pops up to interrupt me and I take too long to get it back into gear. I don't even want to lose any weight, just get toned and into better shape generally. Maybe all of us here will keep each other on track leading into our trips. Good luck!

Congratulations on making the switch! AoA looks like a fun resort.

I still can't believe it! I keep checking my account on the the Disney site and yes, it says it right there...Art of Animation! I have also received two confirmation emails, but I just can't believe it!

First of all it's 2 weeks over Christmas less than two months away. The LM section has not had availability for our dates for quite a while now. Even the CM (who was very helpful!) said that since I was booked with a pin, it would have to show availability for that pin even though there may be rooms available to the public and he said he hadn't seen that particular pin work for a while and considering my dates, it probably wasn't going to happen, BUT he said he would check anyway and I couldn't believe my ears when he said that YES, it was showing availability for for dates and the pin I was booked under. He asked me if I wanted to book it and I was screaming, "YES" :rotfl2:

It literally felt like someone with my exact pin and my exact dates cancelled and it was meant just for me....it just felt like such a big sign for me to get a second chance at AoA:cheer2:

We go to Disney every year, but we have never actually spent Christmas in the World (but have always talked about doing that one year!) and my original dream was to book a LM room at AoA whenever we booked a trip when the resort was open, but Christmas and AoA at the same time? Even I didn't dream that big:goodvibes

Our girls know about Christmas at Disney and they think we are staying at ASMo, but I really want to keep this newest change a surprise!!!

Same name and merchandise as the one by us. Not much WDW stuff, mainly Disneyland or general parks merchandise. It's in Cypress, TX, Houston Premium Outlet Mall, I think?

DS loves Vinylmations and he found several for $2.99. I also got a mystery coupon to use next week, so I think I'll go back and get him a couple more Vinylmations for Christmas.

Those mystery coupons are so tempting!

46 days!!!! I can't wait!

It may sound crazy pants of me, but I packed my son for Disney yesterday (mostly). He's with my parents this weekend and since this trip is a surprise, I can't do it when he's around. When we were at breakfast I thought about it, and we have something every weekend between now and then and no plans for him not to be here, so I had to act while I didn't have to do it in secret. I had been putting things in a suitcase as I bought them, but I packed shorts (too cold in WI to wear them again) and shirts. Only need pants and socks. I threw some things of DH and mine in a suitcase to start.

I guess I just am way excited!!

I think I'm on a roll and everything is done but let me go through a checklist

  • Hotel booked for night before (12/6), to break up journey.
  • Resort booked. POR Royal Guest Room. Requests: Oak Manor, Garden View, room with roll-in shower for Mum.
  • Park Tix & Deluxe Dining Plan
  • Photopass Plus ordered & received - have coupon to trade in for PP+ card when we arrive
  • MVMCP tix ordered & received
  • La Nouba tix ordered & received
  • All ADRs secured, none outstanding
  • Park days figured: 12/7 DTD & Epcot (emh); 12/8 MK; 12/9 HS (emh); 12/10 Epcot; 12/11 MK & MVMCP; 12/12 AK & La Nouba
  • Excitement: Engaged
  • Packing - Meh, day before we leave :thumbsup2

Is there anything I have forgotten?? Surely not. Ooh, ooh! Don't let me forget to get an anniversary card for my parents before we leave - its their 42nd anniversary on the 12th, I can get a gift there.
What day are you doing La Nouba? i haven't bought our tickets yet....was originally going the same show as Levenhopper but now I think it only works on friday night, 12/14. I originally switched to this day because it was the last day to see the show by using some discount available to Cirque club members.....

Hey, don't forget to buy that card for your parent's anniversary :lmao:

Okay guys, I'm leaving for church.....don't talk too much while I'm gone!

Hehe, too true. I did at 22. My parents surprised my brother and I when I was 14 and he was 12 (so that would have been 1985). Then we went again in 1990 and 1993 as graduation gifts from our parents. However, in 93, I bought my own 4 day ticket from our local Disney store. But I don't remember if I paid for my own plane fare or if my parents paid that part .

Hey, my mom took me to WDW when I was 26 and newly married! My little brother was 11 at the time and I really think she needed me as a buffer. :). I don't think I paid for a thing and I left my husband at home :).

Me too! Lost 35lbs so far logging.

Great Job!!! I learned about logging and measuring food my first pregnancy and now I don't need to do it unless I need to get back on the eating well wagon. :teeth:

Congrats on part3! Question: if you were to see only one at DHS, would you pick the beauty and the beast stage show or the little mermaid show?

I had a discussion about LM yesterday with DSis. Know we saw it, I'm a bigvLM fan and I honestly can't remember anything about that show. I couldn't even remember if it had live actors?!?! Made that much of an impression. ;)

I vote B&B.

Does anyone have any experience splitting table service meals? We have Artist Point (Signature ts) at 5:30pm and Ohana at 9:15. The AP dinner is really just for hubby to get the venison appetizer and scallops entree. I think I'd just be happy with the portabello soup and a few bites of the cobbler dessert ;) Would they let dh use a table service credit (really 2 credits) and me just pay oop for the soup (thus saving us 2 credits)?

Everyone at the able does not have to have or use the DP. Should be fine.

*sings* GOOOOOOOD MOOOORRRRNING!!!! :teeth:

Hope everyone is well

:goodvibes it's magic ... AoA was waiting for you ;)

46 days!!!! I can't wait!

I guess I just am way excited!!

Yeah, because you could have done it any day when he was at school .... you just got Disney Fever :rotfl:

What day are you doing La Nouba? i haven't bought our tickets yet....was originally going the same show as Levenhopper but now I think it only works on friday night, 12/14. Okay guys, I'm leaving for church.....don't talk too much while I'm gone!

We go Tues 12/12 - my parents anniversary. Haha, thanks for reminding me to get a card ;)

We'll be at Epcot on the 10th, too! I'll look for your hot pink shoes and monster bag.

My DD11 is like 'seriously, you are going to Disney with that?' So I asked why, does she not like it and she said "I love it. And its right for me to love it, I'm 11. Its not for your age group" :lmao: :lmao: I love it.

Me too! Lost 35lbs so far logging.

Sorry but this had me laughing. I'm thinking "WOW, she must have really strong arms now!" then I realised that you didn't mean logging in the cutting down trees sense :scratchin Congrats on the loss, thats awesome!

I actually might start a suitcase today too, since I have to put DS's shorts away anyway.

Anyone have the burning desire to help me plan what days for what parks? I thought I had it done, then we added a day, then we changed hotels, then we changed hotels again :rotfl2:

I think we are set now. The hotels changed things since we are now walking distance to Epcot and HS which was a plus since we have a wheelchair along. We are fans of HS so like 2 days there. We have 10-day hoppers and are there the 3-13 with the 12th being my daughters 14th birthday. She has some delays so she is mor like taking a 4-5 year old to the parks so our focus is more like one with younger kids then teens. That said, last time we went she nearly killed me by riding RnRC 5x straight without getting off in the front seat! I had to sit the next hour trying to regain my bearings :rotfl2:

I don't like going to the parks on the day we fly out, but plan to go the evening we arrive (we land at MCO at 1pm). I figure ME will pick us up at 1 on our final day so after packing, checking out, and grabbing lunch we won't have much time anyway. ADRs are few this trip. We have breakfast at H&V on the 12th for my daughters birthday and O'Hana at 6:45 on the 9th. We want to catch Wishes at least one evening along with the MSEP and Fantasmic, and illuminations. Am I asking too much? I keep trying to plan it out but with the opening of Fantasyland thrown in I can't figure best time to go to MK.

Any ideas? I know I'm asking a lot:) but you guys seem to have this scheduling stuff figured out. Usually we just wake up and decide, but I think my daughter would do better knowing what to expect ahead of time.

Thanks!

I work, so no time during the day. He's only in pre-K and home with my hubby after 11am. I have my vacation mapped out to a T, no time to not be at work.... Plus I'm super busy there... This was the perfect time.

Sunnysideup3 I just noticed you are from Wawatosa! We are in Delafield and our nurse traveling with us is from Wawatosa! What dates are you going?
