Spring Direct Incentives 2/9-4/27

The home resort priority really doesnt mean much to me at all.
That is the "@ this time" @Girlstar30 talking.
What it will it be like for the in 5-10 years @Girlstar30 talking?

With Disneyland Forward eventually coming I think it will matter more imo with only 2 resorts at the moment for DLR.

imo I would stay put. Also you should be able to rent your points at a premium if the need arose compared to having to stalk something at the 7 month window to secure with SSR.

My only pause is the shorter expiration date.
This is the significant downside to SSR. Even with this lower price point, if you compare the CCV flash sale that just ended to this deal, CCV is still cheaper on a per point per year basis because of the longer life of the contract.

CCV: $209/point + $9.04 dues + 42 years on contract = $14.02 per point per year
SSR: $150/point + $9.19 dues + 28 years on contract = $14.55 per point per year

Of course, that does not account for time value of money nor does it consider potential differences in dues growth rates.

Ill also add, SSR always seems to be the "last to go" (meaning it has strong availability). I don't see that changing soon, so you are losing your 11 month booking benefit.

Especially around the holidays, no better place than Wilderness Lodge imo.

If Copper Creek Studios/1 Bedrooms slept 5, it would be really dangerous for me. Luckily, I don't have to cross that bridge :)

Agreed. Additionally, renting out CCV is probably a lot easier than SSR if you ever have some years you aren't going to use your points.

Still, saving $11,800 on 200 points isn't nothing. And, if you take that, invest it for 28 years, assuming you can earn 6% rate of return, you'll have about $60,000 when your SSR contract expires.

I do have emotional ties to Disneyland. I am actually a "proud" owner there, whereas SSR would be an "I did it because it was cheap" owner 🤣 I am hoping some more credits will be announced for vdh 🤣 Its true what @juliebee said i just want more direct points ugh. I wont do it with vdh. Still havent ran the numbers my wife keeps distracting me. I think she can see the crazy in my eyes right now and knows something is about to happen again 🤣🤣

Can you add vdh in there 🤣🤣

“If you are already a member don’t walk into the store unless you want to buy….”

That’s gonna cause a lot of people to schedule with a guide just before the incentives change. Poor logistics planning.

I was thinking this too. All the people "in the know" will wait until the end of the incentive period to contact a guide. (Which is actually what I did this last one...ha!)

Ok if its $170 per point after $45 off at the 200 level I might freaking switch somebody please advise

So you're considering ditching VDH for SSR???

It could be my chance to get 200 points and not feel guilty 😭😭😭
