Feeling very worried about cybertkin - LI declared a major disaster area...

Haven't heard from my mom or brother either - I know they are with out power, and the town is further inland, but have heard of terrible fires... I am making the assumption that I would have heard if something bad had happened....

I'm worried too, I saw that declaration for LI and NYC.

I have a couple people I know on LI too that I haven't heard from since late last night, though I do know they are without power.

I was just telling someone at lunch that I think she is the last Disney friend we haven't heard from. I am sure she doesn't have power. Hopefully she'll be on some time this week.

I'm worried too. I know DBF's parents are ok but their house is without power. They are more inland on LI. I hope she and her family are safe. :worried:

I'm starting to hear signs of life outside here and not just emergency vehicles.

That's got to be a huge help... The sound of just emergency services has got to be the most nerve wracking feeling - one of those things that makes me sick to my stomach with anxiety....

I know they are saying 8.3 million people so far with out power....

That's play a game of what if... What if there is a bounce back offer available, does anyone plan on booking something? For me, yes!

My question is, if I book a bounce back and free dining becomes available for the week I choose, can I get free dining on top of the bounce back discount, or is it one or the other?

I would love to book a bounce back offer, but I'd love for it to be FD and I have a sense that is not going to be offered:( A RO discount is nice, but won't save us enough money to be able to afford the dining plan:confused3

Glad our northern friends are checking in and are ok - hope those of you that waiting to hear from family and friends do so soon.

We still haven't heard from cybrkitn ... hope she's doing ok

We're the opposite. I love RO discounts. We never do the dining plan, free or otherwise. With our touring style and dining preferences, it's not worth it. We make out much better with RO discount

Where are Josh's plans located on the website?

Here are the ones he wrote after the new FP enforcement policy. I bookmaked them because his site really is terrible to navigate.

http://www.easywdw.com/worth-2/planning-around-disney-worlds-fastpass-return-enforcement-policy/

I think he's in the process of writing expanded plans and re-organizing the site. Here is an elaboration of the HS plan that is new:

http://www.easywdw.com/uncategorized/timing-my-ideal-hollywood-studios-morning-in-october-lunch-in-italy-101712/#more-9596

I think will probably do an expanded plan for all the parks, eventually.

Like our mothers always tell us (well, mine anyways) no news is good news. Hope you hear from them soon :flower3:

38 days!

Oh, one more thing: This question got lost in the posts. Is there a new touring plan in place that includes the new Fantasyland?

I saw your question earlier but do not know the answer. I've been wondering the same thing myself because I know that will add hours onto my plan!

We're the same way. And with APs this time around I'm really looking forward to having the TIW discount. Since that applies to alcohol also, we'll save much more that way.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now I have even less motivation to go out grocery shopping on this cold day!

My Disney package arrived! I bought DD the Santa Duffy. OMG he is so cute and soft!

Hello fellow December DIS-ers. I'm finally back in the swing of things after my quick trip to CA. Here's a dress I bought out there (LOL, I buy everything online so it hardly matters where I was when I bought it). This is from Athleta, which I love because I like to wear dresses and their
dresses travel well (and come in my size):

I think I'll get a lot of use out of this, I can wear it in the parks and go straight to dinner.

You're welcome. :)

Regarding your other question, touringplans.com incorporates the new attractions into their plans for Dec. (I know, because I put Enchanted Tales with Belle in right away after I saw the reviews on easywdw. :thumbsup2 ). I hope Josh incorporates it into his plans soon, but he hasn't yet.

Good Afternoon!

Just wanted to say we came through Hurricane Sandy ok here in NC. We lost our power for a few hours yesterday, but minus a lot of wind and the cold, we are good here. :)

I bought a composition book to start planning out our 2 week stay coming up for Christmas and super excited to do so. My dad and I sat down and found some restaurants that we both saw stuff we could eat that wasn't pizza/hot dogs/quick service. I never thought I would get so into all this planning and can't wait to pass the next 6 weeks doing this so we can just go and enjoy ourselves. If we have to change up some of the plans, so be it and have back-ups right? ;)

HELP: Jeff has decided to add a couple of ADR's. We are looking for Sunday and this is what is available.
Grand Floridian
Cape May
Kona
Boma

So out of the above selections what one would you choose (not worried about the kids they get to eat off the kids menu).

thanks

I have been to all but Kona

My picks:

1) Boma - love Boma, the atmosphere, the food, everything - we go here on every trip. It is our first night dinner ADR this year!

2) Kona - purely for the awesome coffee that was given to me by a CM when we were searching for some after 'Ohana, atmosphere and the menu does look very appetizing.

3) Cape May - seafood is so tasty!

4)Grand Floridian Cafe - not that is was bad, but just not our favorite. The food was good, but it felt "stuffy" and was not the place for us to go with young kids.

I would love to but it would take an awful lot of convincing to make it so. I don't think you can take a bounce back offer (room only) AND a free dining offer, but you could book the room and switch to free dining should it become available at a later date. I'd love to book a bounce back for a deluxe resort....like an Epcot resort during F&W? I don't know the answer but can you use the dining package on booths at F&W? Maybe I wouldn't even want free dining if not.

I've heard great things about all of them. My suggestions would be Kona and Cape May. The food selections will be varied and at Cape May the kids can have more of a choice than the standard fare kids menu which seems to be the same for the majority of WDW dining places.
