Just decided over the weekend that we would be surprising our son with a trip to WDW leaving on Christmas Day. We will be staying at OKW Dec 25-31 and SSR Jan 4-6. We are staying at the Best Western Lake Buena Vista for the days in between.

Still trying to decide how to surprise our DS (10)! Any creative ideas would be appreciated. We have to leave our house around midnight on Xmas eve so we will have to let him know before then :)

I don't have any great advice to give you, but we're also surprising our DS, 5, with a trip. Our flight is at 9:30am, so we're saying that we need to take my BFF to the airport and we're meeting her at mom's work. She'll ride with us, DH will be driving, and I'll be in the backseat. Once we get to the airport, we'll tell him that --SURPRISE-- she's not going anywhere, but we have this letter for him to open...and inside is a map to Disney and a big ol' Mickey Head. You're going to Disney kid!!:goodvibes

I THOUGHT IT WAS A PICKLE!!! Oh my! :confused3

I want to figure out this whole twitter thing...

I too, want to try the twitter thing...got it, but then found it a bit confusing for me! kids just laughed....maybe by the time we leave, I just might figure it out. Nice to know that I am not the only one that has to figure it out!

Btw, has anybody here used in-room sitters at Disney World? We could leave them at the Beach Club but its a lot more reasonable for 3 kids to just get the in-room sitter for the night we adults are going on our IllumiNations cruise, plus we'd rather they were asleep by the time we get back. How far in advance do you have to set it up?

Phew... All caught up!! 25 days tomorrow for us!! I really started to kick into high gear today. I ordered all of our specialty shirts. They are too cute!
I am going to try and put up my Christmas tree this weekend I just have to get the house straightened up. I usually put up 2 large trees and 3 small trees in the kids rooms but I am considering only one tree this year. Also we usually hire professionals to hang our Christmas lights. They called my husband to schedule and we told them we would call back when we decide if its worth it this year. Ugh!!! To many decisions!!

Same for us. How long is your trip?

I don't get on in a few days and qwe are on part four!!!!!!

"I cann not beeelieevvee it!" in my best Quincy from Little Einstein voice.

I know I will not be able to catch up and tomorrow will be running lots of errands. I have a appt, then going to get stuff to hDIY mugs for DD to give her anuts and uncles for Chsitmas which we are celebratig with my side the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Also hopefully the other gifts I need to finish that sides Christmas, just some candies. I also need to vote.

Hope everyone is doing well and has agreat day tomorrow!!!

I just love the feeling of walking down Main Street that first time, preferably the first day. The smells, the music, the little misty tears I get...it's just all so magical.... :cloud9:

I love, love, love, main street and the castle! First ride, I really like Tower of Terror, although we have T of T at California Adventure here in Cali the one at HS is SUPER COOL!

I also want to go on It's a Small World there at MK, did not do it last time because the facade was not cool enough, for me to stand in an hour long line in 95 degree heat. I figured it was just like the one in Cali, but either way when it's decorated (at least in Cal) it's spectacular!!! ::yes::

I sure hope it's open for the MVMCP??? pixiedust:

24 days, when I wake up! :hourglass

IASW will be open during MVMCP according to the map released last week :goodvibes

OMG I miss a week of checking up on the Roll Call and I come back to find we're on PART 4  Catching up is going to take days! Not that I mind, I could sorely use the distraction after last week.

I'm starting to totally freak out. I have a TON to do to get ready for this trip and my whole month is basically booked solid. And on top of an already nutty schedule, I have a strong suspicion we're going to be finding a new Corgi puppy sooner rather than later because our Brittany doggy, Wesson, is NOT doing well at all. Anyone have any suggestions for naming what will probably be a Christmas present Corgi puppy (we'll definitely get a boy)???

Well, our doggies name is Walter Disney Park, Park is really our last name!!! You could name your doggie Walt! I wouldn't mind at all! :rotfl:

PM ME YOUR TWITTER NAMES
(for those who are live tweeting during their WDW trip).

Also add your dates again so I can keep the list in chrono order!

I will collect them all and share in POST #4!

Hey everybody checking in.....

I am currently still in New York. There are still many people without light or food and not much gas. I am glad that my teacher gave me this week off and I lose nothing all I have to do is write about the experience. I am still excited by Disney and yay we will be there in like 35 days, but honestly it's all in the back of my mind when I am helping feed these people or helping them look for the remaining items scatter all over where there house use to be. I am so glad that Disney is donating 2 million dollars for the hurricane relief. Also you can help donate 10 dollars by texting ABC to 90999 or Red Cross to 90999. ABC being Disney organization. I do this because I would love to think if this happened where I live there would be someone else doing it for me. I love to see the amazing people out there come together when something like this happens. NYC is after all my home town.

I did order the blankets cause I know the free personalization will not be included come Monday. I know I think starting Wednesday the 25% off everything( I think) and I know that code is disneypal. So if you have had your eye on anything I would wait till Wednesday if its regular price.

I can wait till the 9th so we can start getting some reports back hopefully, also anyone one else going to be tweeting live? Maybe we can have a post with everyone's tweeter names

Thank you for all you've done. My BFF's mom still doesn't have power and I have a co-worker on Staten Island who's had power intermittently.

My heart breaks for everyone effected. I have no right to complain that my commute was 20 mins longer when so many others are suffering so much more.

I too, want to try the twitter thing...got it, but then found it a bit confusing for me! kids just laughed....maybe by the time we leave, I just might figure it out. Nice to know that I am not the only one that has to figure it out!

I just started a couple of months ago. It is pretty easy. Also if you want to just use it for the trip, the hashtag we decided on from the Facebook group is #decDIS12 so you can actually type that in the search box on Twitter and it will pull up any tweets from people who have used it.

Questions for those that have been to Disney at Christmas before.....I was just reading that they put the BIG icon tree on Main Street up after the TV taping. That is the Friday before we get there, how long before the tree is up? I was wondering if we'd see it for the MVMCP on the 4th or our MK day (the 5th)

Also I can't remember but can you take a boat from Poly/GF or Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge or would we have to go to MK and transfer? I'd LOVE to see WL too, but I guess it will depend on timing since I definitely want to see the monorail resorts before MVMCP...hmmm

You put your tree(s) up early! That's very cool though, I love Christmas so nothing wrong with getting it going sooner or later.

25 more days until WL! I will keep my ears open for someone yelling Jaxon! :rotfl:

Thank you BELLAALLY for all your efforts, you are touching hearts & lives!

I haven't really checked Facebook in days. I'm just burnt out. Way too much drama.

Ha! I don't really know what I think of FB to be honest. I like that I can stay in touch with people but, I find it tedious and annoying sometimes. I don't like how some live their life through it, or those that use it 'hang their dirty laundry out' ...... ummmm, I shall shut up now :teeth:

I THOUGHT IT WAS A PICKLE!!! Oh my! :confused3

:rotfl2: I was about to say :lmao:

Yes, you both must! It is confusing at first but I love it because its short & sweet lol, people can't go on like some other social networking site (see my comment above) ;)

We'll be at POR from the 28th until Jan. 2nd. Then DW has a conference off property but we'll still be going to Disney through the 5th.
