So now for opinion. Thinking we are going to make lunches in the villa-- however we will need to do QS the first Saturday in AK.... So Yak & Yeti QS or Flame Tree BBQ?

We are doing Yak & Yeti QS. I think its really good and at least something different!

Just decided over the weekend that we would be surprising our son with a trip to WDW leaving on Christmas Day. We will be staying at OKW Dec 25-31 and SSR Jan 4-6. We are staying at the Best Western Lake Buena Vista for the days in between.

Still trying to decide how to surprise our DS (10)! Any creative ideas would be appreciated. We have to leave our house around midnight on Xmas eve so we will have to let him know before then :)

OK, finally caught up! I will be on here and posting a lot more because I temporarily inactivated my Facebook account. I had a lot of friends posting a lot of negative political stuff that I just couldn't take it anymore. I will probably log back in next week. ;)

Ride that I will probably never do again? TOT
I know a lot of people love this, but I hate that stomach dropping feeling and I hate only having a seatbelt to hold onto.

Favorite food:
Pineapple Dole Whip Float
Mushroom Filet at LC

I have a new question for everyone: What is the first attraction that you want to do/see on your first day (if it were up to you and not your travel companions)?

Our first ride will be the Safari. I'm hoping the animals will be active. :)

My first must do rude every single trip is POTC!

Has been since I was 4!

Oh my goodness how exciting!!!

I'm still here! Not so patiently waiting for mickey mail and my chase Disney rewards redemption card!

I'm torn on whether to devour all the reports/blogs on the holiday decorations or start a self imposed blackout so I can be surprised!

Main Street USA if we were doing a park that day.

Still waiting for Mickey mail and our PP+.

I haven't really checked Facebook in days. I'm just burnt out. Way too much drama.

I had a nail appointment tonight, I go every two weeks. I realized I only see her twice more before we leave!

It's only 8pm here and I'm already tired enough to go to bed.

Hey everybody checking in.....

I am currently still in New York. There are still many people without light or food and not much gas. I am glad that my teacher gave me this week off and I lose nothing all I have to do is write about the experience. I am still excited by Disney and yay we will be there in like 35 days, but honestly it's all in the back of my mind when I am helping feed these people or helping them look for the remaining items scatter all over where there house use to be. I am so glad that Disney is donating 2 million dollars for the hurricane relief. Also you can help donate 10 dollars by texting ABC to 90999 or Red Cross to 90999. ABC being Disney organization. I do this because I would love to think if this happened where I live there would be someone else doing it for me. I love to see the amazing people out there come together when something like this happens. NYC is after all my home town.

I did order the blankets cause I know the free personalization will not be included come Monday. I know I think starting Wednesday the 25% off everything( I think) and I know that code is disneypal. So if you have had your eye on anything I would wait till Wednesday if its regular price.

I can wait till the 9th so we can start getting some reports back hopefully, also anyone one else going to be tweeting live? Maybe we can have a post with everyone's tweeter names

This thread has tons of great ideas for surprise trips: ***Official Surprise Trips Thread and Planning Tips!***

Never done Yak & Yeti QS, but I LOVE Flame Tree BBQ :goodvibes

This will be my first trip as an adult that my first ride won't be Space Mountain, that is what I've done first the last 3 trips. But AK will be my first park this time, and I will be doing KS right away!! :goodvibes

First of all, welcome to our 2 newest Roll Callers!!

WOW!!!!

9 pages in 6 hours. By my math, if we keep up the pace, Part 5 will be ready in 6.8 days.

Edit:
By Contrast... The November thread is only on page 24 of part 1.

WE RULE!!!!!

I think BDL ha sit out for the November thread. tisk tisk! :rolleyes1

But yeah, we rule.

It's NOVEMBER and the November thread only has 24 pages on it??? We TOTALLY rule!!!!!! ::yes::

There are going to be a lot of DisBoard members who stalk Tofu's future trip plans to book trips the same time she's going just for her wonderful Roll Calls :rotfl2:

We are hoping to go for just a few nights in October, but there is already a roll call. wah wah ;) I've had a lot of fun with this thread!

Here's my schedule so far:

Fri 12/7: EPCOT (CP and EMH)
Sat 12/8: AK morning/MGM (Osbourne Lights) night and possibly River Roost at POR afterwards
Sun 12/9: Resort hopping in the morning/Magic Kingdom & MVMCP at night (with a Dole Whip stop)
Mon 12/10: DTD morning/MGM (Fantasmic!) afternoon & night
Tues 12/11: EPCOT day/DTD night
Wed 12/12: Open day (with Le Cellier dinner)
Thur 12/13: Park hopping for merchandise/Departure at night

Just keep an eye out for the 6' 300 lbs Boston Irish guy decked out in Bruins/Pats gear (or a Mickey Mouse hockey sweater), and you've found BDL. :wave2:
I will be at DHS on Monday night. Might see you at Osborne!

I was just thinking of this randomly and...what is your least favorite ride at WDW? Meaning, something you've been on and will be quite happy to never ride again.

Definitely Stitch. HANDS DOWN.

And to all you Small World haters, have you NO HUMANITY?!?! (look at my siggie)

Great to hear of your volunteer efforts. Thank you! It makes you feel good to see big companies you like donate. Home Depot has donated 1 million and heard from former co workers from NJ they have even given employees gas. :goodvibes:

Many people have included their Twitter name on the Facebook holiday page. Mine is JameJame81. Feel free to follow me, I will be live tweeting from DW starting the 1st.

I want to figure out this whole twitter thing...

I'm at 24 days today! I did my mail hold last night and survived the Build a Bear party AND family party.....All we have is Thanksgiving to get through and we'll be on our way!!!!! :dance3:
It appeared it was a group that was making 100 bears and taking them to Children's Hospital. Apparently there was something like 20-25 volunteers that were doing the labor and then bringing them over today. That warms my heart (and is better than 100 people in the store!)
Yay for surviving! I take it the kids had a great time?
And that's so great about the bears for the children's hospital ....
I am just hoping that we are on a fresh thread before I leave so I don't have to worry about transitioning to Part XXXXXX while I am at WDW. :rotfl2:
I have a feeling that's just about the only thing that will slow this thread down, when a good chunk of us are in the parks ... ;)
I can't believe you all finished up that last thread!

I went ahead and ordered PP+. I'm pretty sure I'll just hold onto it until my family trip, since it'll get more use then. I'm such a dork.
But you're taking it with you on this trip, just in case you want to use it right? :darth:
Like I said online check in is completely computer generated while otherwise a physical room assigner will look at your requests the computer does not. This is straight from the horses mouth..

ASMU/POR Dec 16-22, 2012 & POFQ Sept 8-15, 2013
Hmm ... I've been told that the computer generates all DVC room assignments about 10 days out. Wonder if their system is different?
I don't see why we couldn't have a happy bouncy thread.

I'm not sure when we'll go back. I know we talked about doing a bounce back offer if we get one but then the other night he mentioned doing a cruise next year. :sad1:

Yes, this coming from the girl that hasn't been there since 1983. I know I'll like it enough that I'll want to go back again and again and again!! :rotfl:
A DCL cruise would be awesome though, they really are just spectacular. You feel very pampered, the service is just unparalleled. We're doing a park/cruise combo this trip, 5 days before and after a 3 night cruise. If you do a combo, I recommend putting the parks after since to me its just so depressing getting off the ship, its great to have some park time to look forward to. Some will tell you cruising second is better, because its more relaxing, but I rush around trying to squeeze everything into my cruises, too. :upsidedow
I was just thinking of this randomly and...what is your least favorite ride at WDW? Meaning, something you've been on and will be quite happy to never ride again.

Mine is the Winnie the Pooh ride at MK. When I rode it last year, I couldn't believe how jerky and weird and disjointed it was. I was so happy to get off, even thought it's only a super short ride. :rotfl2:

Honorable mention goes to Primeval Whirl, which is also jerky.

Unfortunately, my partner likes it, so we'll be going on it again this year. (And will also be riding Test Track and Mission: Space multiple times.)

It's a Small World. I still remember it from 29 years ago. I'm not going on it again. Both DBF and I have said **** NO!
I'm IASW, too. In 2007 I got stuck in the middle of it for 45 minutes, with the music playing. In 2010 a girlfriend that was part of our travelling party of a dozen that year insisted we all go on IASW together. It was too soon. Not sure I'll ever go on it again.
Just decided over the weekend that we would be surprising our son with a trip to WDW leaving on Christmas Day. We will be staying at OKW Dec 25-31 and SSR Jan 4-6. We are staying at the Best Western Lake Buena Vista for the days in between.
Wow that's super-last-minute for a DVC trip! Enjoy!

I have a new question for everyone: What is the first attraction that you want to do/see on your first day (if it were up to you and not your travel companions)?

I just love the feeling of walking down Main Street that first time, preferably the first day. The smells, the music, the little misty tears I get...it's just all so magical.... :cloud9:

a selection of British pickles - our pickles are very different from US ones. We have a choice of Trifle and Spotted Dick  & custard for dessert. We invite our neighbours over for that and they love it :)[/QUOTE]

I read about Spotted Dick  from John Heald (have you heard of him?) but, I didn't know it was a pickle, I actually thought it is some type of candy bar! lol :rolleyes1

The chips and everything sounds wonderful! :thumbsup2

PS, I love John Heald, that chap is sooo funny! :rotfl:
