I must admit, he IS the cutest dog ever....which is a good thing for him since he tends to be a bit naughty sometimes. His cheeky good looks have kept him alive

I'm thinking I need to get those cookies and instead of just chocolate, dip in chocolate, then in sprinkles. I have xmas sprinkles left from last year.

I'm glad I didn't get rid of my 'Ohana ADR for 1900 PK after reading this.

I just realized I need ONE more mousekeeping envy so I'm going to go back through and find the one Terri posted last week. It's a Christmas one and I will use that for our last night.

I keep thinking about making them, but I still haven't. Does someone want to make them for me? LOL. I'll pay for shipping and some extra for time and materials. Lol.

Nope. I called anyways, to see if I might get lucky, but the CM said that even if I was eligible, he couldn't do it since it was a travel agent's reservation.

So did anyone hear the foreboding music after I typed this?? Yep. I was laid off with 2 other people. I was the only customer service person in my office and there are 4 others in Chicago, so they decided to consolidate. It was immediate, so good luck to whoever has to figure out what I was working on.
I get severance, basically my regular paychecks through the end of the year. I haven't talked to DH yet. He will freak out with his job mess and our trip!! Disney is already paid for, so I see no reason not to go, but I will definitely be staying at Pop. I bought Disney gift cards at Kroger to pay for most of the trip, so it's not like canceling will give me any real money.
I texted my friend who was laid off from this company last year and went to lunch with her. She starts a new job the week after Thanksgiving. It is a national company that is opening a new plant here. She is the HR manager. She goes to a plant in Indiana her first week to see how they do things and what she needs. Then she starts recruiting and hiring. So if there is any admin type of job, I will be her first hire. She was very excited about the timing of this because she was going to call me this week about it anyway. So it could work out very well. Fingers crossed.

I'm so sorry! What a crappy Monday! I'll keep my fingers crossed and say lots of prayers that you find a new, better job quickly. Hopefully in a few months you'll be able to look back on this as a blessing.

I just make the simplest ones possible. I take an envelope and write "Thank you Mousekeeiping" or "Mousekeeping, you're the best" or something similar and stick some Disney stickers that I have lying around on it. Simple and done.

Thought I'd add myself to the list of December Disney goers. December 10-13th we will be popping over for some family time and birthday celebrations. My husband unfortunately has to work both my son's birthday (Dec 7) and my birthday (Dec 1) this year, so we thought it would be a wonderful way to celebrate both all together! We are staying at the Port Orleans Riverside in a Royal Room. I've stayed at the FQ a couple of times, which I love! But, I am excited to check out Riverside.
We have also reservation for Spirit of Aloha Dinner show, which I am really looking forward to. We will be spending at least two days at Magic Kingdom and I am beyond enthused to see the New Fantasyland! What I would give for a reservation at Be Our Guest! We just recently planned this trip, so I will keep checking for cancellations. I've been to Magic Kingdom during the holiday celebrations once (15 years ago!) but I remember it being very special. Though I've been back many times since, just not during December. I can't wait!

Here's what I did last night:

Then this is what I did today at work during my morning break. I used three sets of the battery operated lights from Target, an 8" grapevine wreath, and 2 4" grapevine wreaths. It looks better with the lights off

Oh, and this is my poochie. Max likes to sit on the breakfast bar stools and watch my every move.

I love him! And I think you just ruined my diet!

Soooo, I just started reading the thread in Resorts that you guys were talking about - free upgrades from value to either SSR or OKW. I to page 2 and suddenly the board disappeared. Anyone know what happened?

It happened in 2009, to us. I posted on it, let me check.

That is also our anniversary - 10 years this year!

That's why we are going. Our 10th anniversary!!!! Just us, no kids. It will be like a second honeymoon.

Our last December visit was in 1997 and there was a character breakfast at Wilderness Lodge (where we stayed that trip).....I have the cutest picture of my then 5 yo son with Pocahontas! I'm not sure where she's seen these days.

But it gave DH a chance to apologize for his behavior last night and for us to actually talk about the situation instead of screaming at each other. I think I have convinced him that the world is not ending. His biggest issue is that I want to wait until after Disney to look for a job, but if we didnt have the trip planned, I would be looking today. I also want to give my friend time to see if she can hire me. I have another friend at a temp agency (which is how I got the last job), so I am really not worried. I think he is just jealous that I am not going to work today.
So still going to Disney and still waiting to know which week we are going. This is going to be a looooonnnnggg week.

Valgoof: I'm sorry to hear you got laid off, I know the feeling I lost my job back in Aug! I still get up at 530 to make husbands breakfast and lunch during the week. Then I'm awake and can't go back to sleep!

That's a tough one. One the one hand of course you want to find a job right away....on the other hand, how many employers want to work around a vacation so early in employment. At our hospital you don't even get vacation for the first 90 days, I think.

I did see a short video early in our planning of Osbourne Lights. Dh is so excited about that one...he loves Christmas lights! I watched a lighting of the castle video....and proceeded to tear up a lot....I won't watch anything else!
