My girls and I LOVE OUAT - but I"m glad we are an episode behind and watching then on hulu, my girls would not be happy to know there is a delay!! LOL

How's the bloggie? DD11 wants a video camera for Christmas, but I have no idea what to get her! I dont want to pay an arm and a leg, but I dont want to buy crap either. Shes fairly responsible, shes kept her ipod touch and iphone in good shape - but they do have otter boxes.

There is a thread over on the Community Board that I'm on that discusses OUAT. Here's the link http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2821968.

Sony has discontinued the Bloggie. So whatever stock is left in stores is it. There are two different ones out there - one gives 2 hours and the other one gives 4 hours. We went to the Sony outlet store by us and paid $69.95 for the 4 hour one. The 2 hour one was $49.95. We bought the protection plan for another $18 (IIRC) so that if anything happens we can get it fixed, or replaced. If it cannot be fixed or replaced they will send us a check for what we spent.

So far he loves it and has already taken video. But it's still new to him so it has that "wow" factor. He can't wait to use it in Disney.

What type of clothing is everyone brining??? I'm thinking just to bring jeans pants long sleeve shirts sweater etc no summer clothes :(

I keep recommending people pack hockey/football jerseys. They are light, keep the heat in and block the wind great. Also, if it starts getting warm, they are easier to wrap around the waist or fold into a bag, than a sweatshirt or a coat.

So who do we need to contact to get this work thing moving along??

I keep telling DH to at least ask if they would make him switch his vacation, but he won't even do that. Then last night, he says he needs to check the calendar again, he just glanced at it the first time and *thought* he saw that someone had his week. :confused3 Doesnt he know he is stressing all of us out and we need facts!!!!!! :lmao:

I think all ferry's leave from the marina

Thanks. Saw the map, missed the word "marina". :goodvibes

What is it?

Ok the boss' boss just walked in with the VP of HR. And he was a surprise. Could just be an insurance/benefits renewal discussion. Or it could not be a good day for someone. :scared1: There are only 9 of us in my office. I will be logging off now, probably for the rest of the day.

1000th post!! pixiedust:

I plan on bringing a little bit of everything. Being a Northerner I imagine a lot of the "cooler" temps will not be as cold. That said I have 2 pairs of capris, jeans, t shirts, and 2 hoodies. I was going to bring shorts and then decided against it. I am bringing a variety of layers for my kiddos too.

Hahahahahaha! Love it. I should make a LGMH just for this reaction - my husband would be mortified in general if someone walked up to me and was like "Hi I DIS too" so this.... This would be hilarious. I would like to do a few DISmeets one of theses days, but think I have too much going on in this trip - just with all of my family....

So I need to start setting aside some time to get this stuff done - I need to make a master list..... I am kinda starting to freak out now!!! :hyper:

Happy 1000th (well, more than that now) post! pixiedust:

I am in the same boat as you, being used to colder temps so the "cool" days down there feel great for me. When I went in February I met one of my friends who lives in Orlando there for my first park day. It was 50 degrees. I had on jeans, a short sleeve shirt and a thin Mickey Hoodie. She had on Jeans, a long sleeve shirt, a heavy coat, scarf and gloves. :rotfl2:

I grabbed a ton of LGMHs from Home Depot in February so I still have some left that I'm going to use this trip. I'm just going to hang one from my backpack, and bring an extra or two in case I lose that one. :thumbsup2

I'm slightly panicking over everything I still have to get done. :faint:

UG. I had a zillion things multi-quoted and the internet went out at work. It's back now (obviously), but I am not going back through the thread. Thanks for all the advice for my Plan B trip. :goodvibes I won't know anything until next Monday, maybe Friday. I didn't even give DH the options. DB had a concert last night. I left my house at 2:00 and got home at 10:00. DH didnt go with me, so we havent really even talked about it. I just told him I had spent the whole morning on here discussing it with you guys. Part me of wants to do the whole week at POR, but then the practical part knows it would be dumb to not take the free dining for part of the week. I know DH would not want to do a split stay. I would push for that more if it were the value first. I think AKL or POR-POP would just be too much of a letdown. And I dont know what will be available when I call to actually change it. So we will all have to wonder for a few more days. :rotfl2:

Good morning!! My boss' boss is coming in from the corporate office so it will be a long day.

:lmao:

Good luck with finding things out in time to get your plans set, and with your bosses boss!

1stvisit0909 - I love my Kodak playsport which is similar to the bloggie... The playsport is waterproof and you can take videos underwater which is cool... It takes great video and is durable. Just an idea for you... They are around $95.

If you wanna see the video quality I can but a video on here. It would be Disney related.

Wow! A lot of multi-quoting for me today. Ok, here I go...

What type of clothing is everyone brining??? I'm thinking just to bring jeans pants long sleeve shirts sweater etc no summer clothes :(

You need layers as it could be quite warm during the day and then cold at night (you can get up to a 40degree drop). I'm bringing yoga pants (they will be kind to my waist after a meal :rotfl:), t-shirts (for during the day when its warm) fleece jacket, hoodie, some long sleeve tops (just in case its cold all day).

Remember, there are lockers at each park. We are getting one each day to put our coats/jacket/hoodie in for those days when it 70 during the day and 40-50 at night. Saves us carrying them around.

I'm trying to decide how many sweatshirts to bring. It always seems to get so cold when the sun goes down every time we're there in December. This year I'm bringing several pairs if knit gloves too.

I've been thinking about what to bring. We have 3 suitcases that are 24 inches each, so I can't pack anything too thick or it will take up too much room. I have some Christmas sweatshirts (that are kind of light) that I was thinking of bringing. Plus I have my fleece that came with my Columbia winter jacket. I wear that by itself and under different jackets. So that will help. I didn't think about bringing gloves, but maybe I should.

I've thought about using the lockers on our last trip back in October of 2006, but we never used them. I just used my backpack to carry everything. I guess, my issue with that is if we are all the way in the back of the park and the locker with our stuff in it is all the way in the front of the park. Anyone know how much it costs to rent a locker if we do decide to use one? Also, how big are they?

:wave2: I graduated hs in 1980. :gulp:

I graduated in 1990. DH in 1988.

We watched Once Upon a Time tonight too! Such a good episode even though Emma and Snow were hardly in it. I hate when shows do that, two weeks? That's too far away!

OK, I feel so old, I have no idea what a Bloggies is :lmao: But I am glad he is enjoying it.

Yep, the show returns in 2 weeks. When I looked at the calendar last night I realized that we will be leaving for Disney 4 days afterwards! Which reminds me, I have to make sure DH has Fringe and OUAT set to record while we are away. The latter we will watch on 12/4 since that's a downtime day for us. DH is bringing his iPad.

A Bloggie is a mobile HD snap camera that takes video. But Sony has recently discontinued it. DH was saying that it's probably b/c parents are buying their kids cell phones that take video. I think the Bloggie is great for kids, especially DS.

No. But assume it goes something like this "Hey! I see you have a Lime Green Mickey Head. I'm a fellow DISer too!" Then you both throw your arms up in the air and scream.

The last time we went, I saw a family at Pop with what looked like an LGMH. So I went over to them and asked if they were on the DISboards. I got the deer in headlights look :rotfl:. They probably thought I was .

I was going to get some lime green cardstock from the scrapbook dept and print an outline of a MH on that and carefully cut it out.

That's a great idea. I think I may make a stop off at Michaels, A.C. Moore or Staples to see about finding that. I was going to use the white card stock we have here, but lime green card stock (if I can find it) will definitely help me save on our ink cartridges

Btw, for those wondering how to laminate your LGMH's. I bought the small laminating sheets for business cards and such the last time. It worked out great.

1000th post!! pixiedust:

2 things scratched off my list are - public potty re training (she seems to be over her fear! Yaaaay ) and transistion DD1 to a sippy from a bottle (so happy this is basically over, just her bedtime bottle has to go) - that was a challenge - she fought me on it.

So I need to start setting aside some time to get this stuff done - I need to make a master list..... I am kinda starting to freak out now!!! :hyper:

Wow! You do have a lot of things to do before you go!

Congrats on your 1000 post and congrats to both of your DDs.

DH will be wearing the backpack with the LGMH, maybe I won't tell him anything and wait for someone to approach him...

I will also have my pink Jansport backpack sporting my LGMH with my DIS name on it.

Morning. I'm barely awake. I have Coke Zero..

I need to finish my mousekeeping envelopes and print my Drinking around the World passport.

You remind me of DH. He drinks diet soda anytime of the day.

I just bought the small envelopes to print out our mousekeeping envelopes. Now I have to take the time to do it.

It's getting closer, yet it still seems so far away. Everything in the planning is now done and set up. Now it's just the packing and small things like mousekeeping envelopes and LGMH's that we have to do. It will be here before we know it and then over before we know it!

We also watch OUAT. I think we are like 3 weeks behind though.

We were doing that with Season 1. Our vacation bowling league happened to be on Sunday nights. So we would record it. Eventually we started to accumulate a few episodes so we take a Saturday and watch about 2 eps back to back to try and catch up. Plus the ep's were so good that we just had to watch the next one!

That vacation bowling league is the reason why we are doing Disney this year! We did it for 2 years in a row and placed last both times. Bottom half of the league and last place received a $375 credit per bowler towards a vacation. We have accumulated a total of $1500 in credits in the 2 years we did it. So that all went towards our Disney package to bring down the balance. Basically, you are paying for your vacation, but it's being set aside for you. I guess you can compare it to a Holiday Club at the bank where you put a little in each week and then use it for your holiday shopping.

Morning everyone! Luckily I have today off, so I won't be here whining about it being Monday.

Regular scheduled service to resume tomorrow morning. :)

Not too much longer!!

Strange...I saw a lot of people on the Resorts thread were talking about getting "free upgrade" emails, because LM AoA (and some others) were overbooked. I just searched for my dates (Dec 14-21) at AoA, and the only thing available are LM rooms. No suites of any theming are available.

I wonder if they had originally overbooked the LM rooms (since no LM rooms were available for a while), and offered too many free upgrades so now there is a bunch of rooms available?

I saw that too. I'm thinking they had so many people calling for it so they probably upgraded people to have more availability. That happened to us on our cruise. We booked an inside stateroom in Jan of 2008 to sail in September 2008. By the time our cruise paperwork came we had been upgraded to an outside stateroom with a huge window!! Basically is the lower priced rooms booked up but not the higher classes they'll move people up so they can sell out the more popular price categories.

I'm bringing it all. Shorts, jeans, short sleeve, long sleeve, fleece jacket, yoga pants, and capris. I expect I'll be living in my capris and yoga pants.

I was going to try and be at the Osbourne Lights at first lighting then was hoping for a late Fantasmic. I'm still holding out for that one. ::yes::

I prob won't bring shorts but maybe capris!! Sounds nice
For fantasmic if there is a late showing I still can't attend because I have a ADR at 8:30 at cape may ugh!!
I'm trying daily to score ADR at chef Mickey breakfast the day of Hollywood studios so I can just stay :)

During our AP preview all the kids went up and got photos. I don't think the CM's were very happy but I heard quite a few "but we waited a long time and don't get a photo" and they let everyone get photos.

FWIW: They actually closed the attraction to new guests as the line was too long several times while we were there. It was the longest we have waited for anything in a very long time.

On a positive note, we somehow experienced the shortest character lines ever on the MNSSP on Nov. 2nd. However, had we wanted candy the lines were long. Even my kids realize we can buy candy at the store and don't want to wait in line for it.

We took a photo with the wardrobe but the CM was in the way:rotfl: They fuss around with all the pieces they use to indicate the roles.

I think we'll probably have to wait and see how they'll finalize things. I also assume they'll FP this attraction when it opens officially. I did read that there are actually two rooms too and that Belle jumps back and forth between them. It will definitely be a popular attraction. We're very excited about it. I think DS is going to try for Beast's part.
