I'm trying to decide how many sweatshirts to bring. It always seems to get so cold when the sun goes down every time we're there in December. This year I'm bringing several pairs if knit gloves too.

I have a couple pairs of the gloves packed.....i'm only bringing my heavy fleece jacket. It's a Mickey one :) It zips up so I figure I won't be wearing it all the time.....it will make a lovely fashion statement, tied around my waist and all ;)

I know my hubby will be bringing his Ohio State and Cleveland Browns hoodies, though

During our AP preview all the kids went up and got photos. I don't think the CM's were very happy but I heard quite a few "but we waited a long time and don't get a photo" and they let everyone get photos.

FWIW: They actually closed the attraction to new guests as the line was too long several times while we were there. It was the longest we have waited for anything in a very long time.

On a positive note, we somehow experienced the shortest character lines ever on the MNSSP on Nov. 2nd. However, had we wanted candy the lines were long. Even my kids realize we can buy candy at the store and don't want to wait in line for it.

We took a photo with the wardrobe but the CM was in the way:rotfl: They fuss around with all the pieces they use to indicate the roles.

LOL, thanks for the report! Hopefully we can make it to this attraction a couple times, so maybe once we can hold back and be ready to snap a fast photo with the wardrobe on the way out.

And they had to close the line to new people? YIKES. And the general public hasn't really invaded yet. I think they're supposed to have FP for this. Makes me wonder if there will even be any spots left for standby once FP gets going.
This made me smile today. Thanks for posting; it looks gorgeous ...

I'm wondering about the photo ops, because there will be people like us who really want to participate, but who don't want a photo. DS6 says he wants "to be the guy in jail" or at least a knight, but he's not interested in a picture at all so we'll skip it.

I really hope there's not so many people that they'll close the attraction. I doubt we'll be willing to wait in a line that's more than 30 minutes for Enchanted Tales with Belle. It looks fun, but there's very few things that are worth more than a 30 minute wait for to me, even at Disney.

As I said, I think it's supposed to have FP, so I'd just make that a priority. I think they made a mistake with Belle that is affecting the flow with this. They need to ditch the photo op here and put her back in Town Square Theater so they can keep things moving faster.

At the very least, they need to make it so people can start exiting if they don't want the photo op. Like the old Belle's Storytime.

1000th post!! pixiedust:
Ok, I'm dating myself here, but I remember those being popular in the 80's when I was a teenager. I never did get to buy a pair mostly b/c at that point my mom was buying my clothes since I was not old enough to get a job yet. Glad you were able to find what you were looking for.

Haha there is a "hole" in the knee, and they are not my normal style. I have been having a difficult time finding what I like now that I have lost weight and can experiment more... I am not 100% on them, and still may return them. My sister and DH liked them and they looked good with my maryjanes and a pair of chucks....

Well I'm pretty ticked off at myself! I had 2 sets of the MM dominoes in my cart at Disneystore dot com and today I placed an order just assuming they were still in my cart. :( They are gone. Sold out. Great sadness. They aren't even listed on the website anymore...does that mean they are gone forever?

I bet it comes back - it seems when they sell out of stuff it disappears.. I never got on the disneystore last night... I ended up passing out on the couch really early. I guess my7 hours of sleep over 2 days (one of them being 23 hours long) meant that sleep was happening whether I liked it or not!

I'm not even going to worry about it until the week before we leave. I live in an area with similar weather to FL and there is no point trying to predict Christmas until closer. :rotfl:

Ive had white Christmases, and I have had our Christmas dinner outside as a picnic, with 80 degrees and sunny. :confused3 crazy southern weather.

I plan on bringing a little bit of everything. Being a Northerner I imagine a lot of the "cooler" temps will not be as cold. That said I have 2 pairs of capris, jeans, t shirts, and 2 hoodies. I was going to bring shorts and then decided against it. I am bringing a variety of layers for my kiddos too.

No. But assume it goes something like this "Hey! I see you have a Lime Green Mickey Head. I'm a fellow DISer too!" Then you both throw your arms up in the air and scream.

Hahahahahaha! Love it. I should make a LGMH just for this reaction - my husband would be mortified in general if someone walked up to me and was like "Hi I DIS too" so this.... This would be hilarious. I would like to do a few DISmeets one of theses days, but think I have too much going on in this trip - just with all of my family....

So it's getting pretty close!! 18 days. In those 8 days - my DH is working 7 days this week (at least it was only 6 last week) and then we have Thanksgiving week... Then... WE LEAVE!!!

I need to drag the suitcases out of the the crawl space and start packing and buying the last of my odds and ends (plane toys, snacks, diapers) I need to finish making my little invites for my kiddos, I bought some scrapbooking paper and fun scissors to cut and paste them to.... 2 things scratched off my list are - public potty re training (she seems to be over her fear! Yaaaay ) and transistion DD1 to a sippy from a bottle (so happy this is basically over, just her bedtime bottle has to go) - that was a challenge - she fought me on it.

I also need to print everything and organize it my little file, take pictures of park passes, PP+ etc... I need to write a shopping list as well... We are doing breakfasts (well most) in the villa and I recently decided on lunch too (feeling the need for some extra healthy food options) I am thinking sandwiches and salads for lunch will be pretty easy.

So those of you bringing a DSLR what lenses and gear are you bringing?

So I need to start setting aside some time to get this stuff done - I need to make a master list..... I am kinda starting to freak out now!!! :hyper:

Good Monday Morning friends!! The suns out and it's supposed to be in the 60s today. So I plan to get out and soak it up while we can since it's going back into the 40s this week.

Speaking of packing. I plan to bring everything. Shorts, capris, jeans, t-shirts, & long sleeves. I'll probably wear shorts as much as I can since we won't be able to at home. I'll probably put jeans and a sweatshirt in my backpack for at night.

We did good at the outlets Saturday. The sales were awesome plus I printed out a ton of coupons before we went. I went to Gap because I had a 40% off coupon and got 2 pair of jeans, a pair of pants and 4 shirts for $100. Also hit the Disney Store with my 25% coupon and got the boys Jammies and a few Christmas presents. They didn't have a ton of shirts and nothing that really excited me. So I may run to Old Navy today to see if our store has the Mickey shirt.

Yep that's what I'm thinking too. No way to know until much closer. Our weather in NC has been all over the place lately. And historically Dec could be anywhere. Even a couple days out from the trip, I'm not sure I'll believe the forecast will definitely hold and will still bring some of all kinds of clothes in case of a change while we're there

good Morning!!!!

DD & I hit the outlets Sat too. I had email coupons for Loft and GAP and made out great there. DD thought it was funny that our savings was more than we paid at the GAP :-)

My packing list is funny. Too much stuff due to potential weather fluctuations

Have a good day everyone!

17 days here... Back to work today after having Thursday and Friday off with the stomach flu. I did get a lot of stuff done around the house this weekend and for the trip. Luckily it's slow at work now through the trip, so I will be DIS-ing a lot.

DH will be wearing the backpack with the LGMH, maybe I won't tell him anything and wait for someone to approach him...

UG. I had a zillion things multi-quoted and the internet went out at work. It's back now (obviously), but I am not going back through the thread. Thanks for all the advice for my Plan B trip. :goodvibes I won't know anything until next Monday, maybe Friday. I didn't even give DH the options. DB had a concert last night. I left my house at 2:00 and got home at 10:00. DH didnt go with me, so we havent really even talked about it. I just told him I had spent the whole morning on here discussing it with you guys. Part me of wants to do the whole week at POR, but then the practical part knows it would be dumb to not take the free dining for part of the week. I know DH would not want to do a split stay. I would push for that more if it were the value first. I think AKL or POR-POP would just be too much of a letdown. And I dont know what will be available when I call to actually change it. So we will all have to wonder for a few more days. :rotfl2:

Good morning!! My boss' boss is coming in from the corporate office so it will be a long day.

The 80's are SO back. Old Navy is very 80's at the moment, and my DD11 is wearing lime greens, oranges, yellows, she's wearing lacey fingerless gloves (madonna anybody???) and skinny jeans in bright colours. And she thinks I don't know fashion ... i'm like "Honey, I set the trend for those" ;)

I still love that look, but now that I'm 41, some of those styles don't look good on me anymore. The other problem I have is that those styles are now for the teenager and those in their 20's. They're also mostly available in the Jr. department.

So who do we need to contact to get this work thing moving along??

Morning. I'm barely awake. I have Coke Zero..

I'm packing capris, shorts, jeans, long sleeve and short sleeves, a few hoodies, a cardigan or two and a zippered fleece. I'll also have a hat and knit gloves in there too, just in case. Planning to take a pair of flip flops, two pairs of sneakers, and one pair of "nicer" but park friendly shoes. I'm most likely going to do my signature dining in capris and a plain tee with a cardigan.

We leave in 27 days! I need to finish my mousekeeping envelopes and print my Drinking around the World passport.

I did finish my LGMH - I just need to print it and then figure out how to laminate it or maybe I'll just cover it in packing tape. I think I'll print 2 on regular paper, put a thin piece of cardboard between them, cover it with packing tape and then punch a hole to tie it to my back pack. I put my DIS name in the middle of the head and I used the one with the tiara.

I did look at the Disney Store site last night. I love the Cinderella hoodie but I'm not buying anything else until we get there.

I'm not so patiently waiting to hear what Valgoof decided.

Hey!! You were one that I had quoted and lost. Glad to hear nothing is broken!! Hope your arm heals quickly. :goodvibes
