PART FIVE!! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

From a personal point of view, one thing we won't do again is book lunch & dinner as we found too much time was taken up with eating which meant we couldn't get as much done. Next time we will do what we did on our last trip - good breakfast, snack during the day, TS in the evening.

Welcome back!

We learned on our last trip in 2006 not to have too many TS meals on our trip. We had 1 TS meal for each day this time, all were dinners except for R&C for lunch. We had breakfast at CBR and QS or a snack for lunch.

Sooo..remember the whole WW thing a few months ago? Being off work for the last month has not helped the waistline!! :scared1: Just tried on all my cute shirts. Lets just say a few of them can only be worn if it is cool enough to wear my OSU sweatshirt over them. :sad2: Oh well. I will be at Disney.:cool1::cheer2:

DH and I have been using MyFitnessPal's web site to log in all of our food. I started back in October and lost 8 pounds prior to our Disney trip. When we came back, I weighed myself and saw that I gained 4 pounds . However, part of that was water retention from being bloated (realized that this morning). I just checked this morning and it turns out that I didn't gain as much as I thought. I hardly gained any weight :woohoo:. I guess it was all of that walking that we were doing :)

DH was logging in all of his food during our trip via his smart phone. He gaine a little, but not much and is now back to losing again. However, b/c of what he was eating, his glucouse levels were a bit high even with his insulin injections. Now that we're home, he's been watching what he's been eating and his levels are back down to where they should be.

DS10 OTOH, actually gained weight :headache:. So now he's back to being on a diet to lose it. His pants for school are a size 14 husky. He was just starting to get back into a size 12H prior to leaving for FL and he gained it all back.

8 days until we will be in the world:cool1: Still trying to convince DH to leave Friday night instead. Im willing to spend a little more to have a few more park hours on Friday night. LOL

Packing is going to be nightmare trying to figure out what to wear, and we really dont want to check luggage, but we have to have a few outfits for a nice mean when we see family for the Holidays in Gainesville.

Im checking everyday to see if there are any res opening up at Be Out Guest. Yeah right!:rotfl: One can dream though right?

YAY !!! Its your TURN!!!!!

My biggest tip is, after all the months of planning and the lists of everything you've made that you want to see, once you get there, that planning might go out the window. I found that once we got there, I just wanted to enjoy being there and the itinerary became 'work'. So, I knew what we wanted to do and we just did it when we could.

Oh, and make sure you have tissues on you ..... Christmas time in WDW is emotional HA!

DH has already messed with my "plan" this week, so I am sure it will go out the window once we get there. As long as I see Wishes, Illuminations and the Osborne Lights at least once, I am good. I guess I dont care what we do during the day. :lmao:
:re meals--We did all counter service last year, so I am interested to see how we do even with just one TS a day. They are all dinners except lunch at LC and Sanaa. I might end up canceling Sanaa to eat at BOG instead. That day is subject to change right now.

I was sorting through my shirts last night and I had on the Canada WS shirt and I told DH I was wearing it the day we eat in Canada. He says, (in a very whiny and disgusted voice), "Canada? Why are we eating in Canada??" Wow, he really hasnt listened for the last 6 months. :rotfl: I then reminded him that he didnt want to hear about the restaurants I had picked and that he will go where I tell him and he will like it. And most of them serve a burger. :goodvibes

Off to run the last errands!! Then home to clean and pack. I am sure I will be on here this afternoon in an attempt to avoid the cleaning and packing. :rotfl2:

I have been using MyFitnessPal too and I love it. I lost 10 pounds prior to our trip, then totally ignored it while we were there. Gotta start back on it, but it so simple and easy.

A lot of our plans went out the window too. DH and I loved the relaxed pace of our trip. We are a cross between turtle/commando - our last two trips were more commando based with traveling with friends of ours and we have to say just letting the Disney magic propel us along was worth it. Taking time to talk to CMs other families etc really added to our enjoyment. :D

We had TONS of tears in Disney - seeing SIL & BIL added to it :) it was great. I'm so glad you had a fun trip though. :) I'm waiting on my photopass CD and then I'm debating the trip report thing or group TR ;)

I didn't want to weigh myself. All the salt in the food had me bloated too. I'm finally feeling like I can breathe and I'm going to start my workouts again next week.

Also I bet you all lose weight quick when you go back on your normal eating habits...

I have no idea!! I just checked the weather and now next Friday is 75. :confused3. Tues and Wed have lows of 48. I think I am wearing jeans tomorrow and taking 2 capris and 2 yoga pants. It definitely looks warm Sat-Mon and then might cool off a bit. I never wear shorts, so I think I will be fine with capris on the high 70s days. I am debating how many warm tops I need. I am definitely taking my OSU hoodie and 2 ls Disney shirts. I think the rest will be my ss Disney shirts. Trying to decide if I really need all 13 or if I can choose a few to leave home. :goodvibes

Have fun on your trip! 5 more days for us and I can't wait! I'll be packing capris and jeans too, shorts for DBf for sure and he'll wear his jeans on the plane. Are you going to pack gloves/ hats?

Yeah, I did the same thing. I got back on it this week and saw that it said that I "might need some encouragemnt" because I hadn't logged in once while we were in Disney.

A lot of our plans went out the window too.

The only plans we had that were set were our ADRs. Other than that we just went where we felt like going. Although there were a few things we had to do first like TT and the new Fantasy Land Expansion area in order to get ahead of the crowds.

We had 2 days each in Epcot and MK scheduled. Whatever we didn't finish on the first days we would do on our second. That worked out great. Our first 4 days in the parks were all EMH nights. Which was perfect b/c that meant that if the lines were long during the day, we would save them for EMH when the lines were shorter as was the wait times. That's how we were able to do Soarin, Misison Space, IASM, Peter Pan's Flight and Winnie the Pooh. EMH nights were not that bad. It was less crowded than during the day.

I was very shocked at how quick the days went. We would go in the morning around opening and the next thing I knew it was just about time for our dinner ADR.

For me the bloating was from something else ;). Not the food. I don't know how quickly one would lose weight once getting back to the normal eating habits.

Hey gang! I just wanted to say thanks for all the ideas, support, and patience as I planned this trip over the last few months! Words can't express how grateful I am for everything!

Abby and I are on DME as I type this. It wasn't too bad of a wait, only 15ish mins. Let the fun begin :)

O ..... M ..... G ..... the Wishes & Fireworks at the Christmas party were just absolutely jaw-dropping. Of course, I cried HA!

A TS meal once a day is a must for us - sitting down to dinner is a great way to regroup & refuel. BOG was FAB! If you look out the huge windows at the back of the main dining room its snowing! It is so beautiful :goodvibes

:cheer2: You're welcome!! And the same to you thanks for your support and allowing us to get totally involved in your personal life :lmao:

Can't wait to hear how your trip went!

My DH will have all shorts except for the jeans he wears on the plane too. I do have gloves and those little handwarmer things. No hats though. DH will wear a ball cap everyday. I dont think we even own any winter hats. :confused3

We ended up not going back to parks and resort hopped and things like that. We didn't get "everything" done but we don't feel like we missed out on anything either. I canceled our last days ADR to hang out in our villa as well.

Our vacation went too quick- way too quick! I look forward to our next family trip in Jan 14 where DD3 will most likely be 40" and DD1 should be close as well!!

Haha that's another reason I won't get on the scale yet!!

We usually lose most of the weight within 2 weeks.... However Christmas and that s'mores bake on Disney Parks Blog might make it longer ;)

Oh good, that's about what my packing list looks like as of right now too! I never wear shorts either. Mostly the issue is the highs in the 70s and the lows in the 40s. Capris are fine for 70s, but if it does get down in the 40s I guess we will be making a run back to the resort to change before heading out in the evenings!

Right now I think I'm packing 2 pairs of capris, 2 pairs of jeans or cords, 4 t-shirts, and 2 of the Disney thermals shirts (assuming I can cram all of this and a pair of sandals into a carry on, if not I might end up having to do the evil "L" word on vacation :lmao:). I've got a fleece Tinkerbell jacket I'll take, and if I need another layer on top of that it'll just give me a good excuse to buy a sweatshirt down there!

Ugh! We were checking the forecast the couple of weeks beforehand but then when we got there, it changed again .... it was SO hot, one day got up to 92!! I actually wish I had packed shorts.

The humidity was really high - totally unkind to your hair!

Really good to know about the humidity! Guess I should add a hat to my packing list!

I'm debating the trip report thing or group TR ;)

I vote for BOTH! :cheer2:

We leave on the 19th too! It's practically here :cool1:

If the lows still are in the 40s the day before we leave I'll toss in a pair of gloves and a scarf for my ears. If the forecast changes (yet again) and the lows are supposed to be in the 50s I probably won't bother, but then, I have a very high cold tolerance. Best advice is, if you think you might want/need a hat and gloves, I'd pack them just in case. Way better to have them and not need them than to not have them than to not have them and be miserable on your vacation!

Yeah, I did the same thing. I got back on it this week and saw that it said that I "might need some encouragemnt" because I hadn't logged in once while we were in Disney.

Umm.....of course you didn't check in at Disney. You were on vacation and EVERYONE knows vacation food has no calories and therefore does not need to be tracked ;)

Have a wonderful, magical trip! Hope we run into you when we get down there!

Really good to know about the humidity! Guess I should add a hat to my packing list!

My poor DD has really hard to manage hair (I don't know why) it goes crazyin humidity so all her photos she has messy hair LOL. When we were in Liberty Tree Tavern there was actually a woman in the restroom with her straightening irons - we had a good laugh about the humidity she told me shes been carrying them around with her everywhere :rotfl:
