Part 3
Part 4
It is between 12:30 and 1:00 AM and we have escaped from the Emergency Room at Celebration Hospital. We decide to stop by a pharmacy for Pedia Light (or Gator Aid) and some more flu meds before heading back to the POLY. Now I am driving and am not really sure which way to go at the first light since I was in the back of the ambulance and could not really see how we got there. My DH says he thinks we should go left so LEFT we go! OK, here is where I admit it is really my fault... I am relying on his having driven to the hospital recognizing landmarks! Plus no matter where you are, there are signs directing you to WDW! Unfortunately some of those signs take you the long way around and those were the ones we were following! We couldn't find anything open... No Eckerd's, no convenience stores, (with the exception of the ones at gas stations which we totally forgot might have carried the meds we were seeking). When you are tired your brain works different! I finally say "Let's go to GOODINGS, they are always open!" So, somehow we double back down past Pleasure Island and DTD (thank goodness, it wasn't 2 AM yet or it would have been a traffic nightmare...)
We find GOODINGS and DH says why don't YOU go in and I'll stay with the baby. So, off I go Cash in hand! I find the Pedia Llight with help from a clerk and it is $15.99 a bottle!! (It may have been 7 or 8.99, but I remember gasping when I saw the price!) Now all the way on the other end of the store I find the Gatorade (essentially the same stuff) for $3.99 for a bigger bottle. YEAH! You KNOW which one I got! Then I pick up some generic nighttime flu medicine and a cute Beanie Baby Bear for DD9 that says "I LOVE YOU". This was to be a little "It's OK" gift because she felt guilty for what happened to DD2 in the tub (even though it was not her fault).
When we pull up to valet parking at the POLY, we cannot get so much as a nod from anyone. I could have probably just jumped out and left, but I thought it might be a good idea to get a valet parking stub if we expected to retrieve our car the next day. DH gets DD2 out of the car and heads up to the room while I proceed to wait for a valet. It must have taken 15-20 minutes which is a LONG time at that hour. I decide to walk inside for help, just as a CM returns to the valet desk. It seems coincidental that a pretty blond woman simultaneously walks up and obviously has his full attention. Somehow I was invisible! I had to clear my throat a few times before he saw me. Yes, may I help you ma'am? Why yes, Mahalo! you may!! I would like to have my car parked, thank you very much! Certainly. I don't remember but I hope I didn't tip him!
I throw myself into the room exhausted. DD2 was given some Gator Ade and put down to bed. Mousekeeping had left us a STACK of clean towels and remade the crib bedding (bless them!) The rest of that night was a blur... I don't think I even took a shower because as soon as I could, I was sinking my head into that pillow and Thanking God for another beautiful day!! Or maybe it was SURVIVING another beautiful day at WDW ~ I can't remember which!
