~~Part 2 ~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip-or two-or three ~~Off plans 10/11 ~~

Adorable shoes! I'm glad they will be here in time & that the rest of your clothes came in & fit. I'm like you, I like longer inseams on my shorts too. The ones I ordered for the trip are perfect.

Especially the Pumpkin Spiced Cupcake at Gaston's Tavern... I have a thing for Pumpkin Spice bakery items this time of year. ::yes::

Yes. Exactly this. All things PUMPKIN!

Hi Shannon! It's great to see you back on The Dis! :lovestruc I loved seeing the pictures you posted on FB from your DL trip, I hope you had a lot of fun!

Thanks - I feel like we have a good plan... Plenty of park time, plenty of down time, plenty of eating time. ::yes::

Hahaha... I will tell you that it's not the new Toy Story Vans - although - I am VERY tempted by those! They are sooo cute! I especially love the Woody ones, and they definitely make me not want to retire my Toy Story set - which I don't think it's making the trip this time... This will be the first trip that this set hasn't made the cut since 2013. :scratchin If there's a next time - I think my TS set will need to be reworked?

Yes - AK is just amazing in every way - it's so different. I love it when people say they don't like it, or won't go to a "zoo" as they have zoos at home... More room for me. LOL There is nothing else like AK anywhere else in the world. :lovestruc

I know - right? Time is going so fast!!! The sad part about that, is that means it will go fast while we are in Disney too. :scratchin

Yes - staying at AKL was a true dream come true for me, I don't know if I will ever get the opportunity to stay there again - so I enjoyed every moment we were there. And AK - I just smile every time I think of walking through... The smells, the sounds... It's all totally unique to that park. ::yes::

Oh my gosh!!! I don't know how you do it??? Even when we go to the lake - I start packing days before, just so I know that I have everything together. LOL

I did see the preview of the new Vans... I am very tempted by the Woody themed ones... I am a sucker for denim and yellow checks. LOL They would be so fun to wear everywhere... I'll have to think about it. ::yes:: Maybe I'll share my new shoes today? :scratchin

Yes - they did close early... I have so many friends there right now, and I've been so worried about them. Most of them have checked in recently and it seems that Matthew veered a little more to the east and has been downgraded to a Cat 3, so that is good news. I even saw a post on FB about 10 minutes ago, which was live and it showed a view from GF looking at MK - and at that time, the Contemporary still had power, as did Space Mountain... So, that's good news!

I have several days worth of updates to do yet... I've only done 5 of 10. ::yes::

Thanks Carol! Love ya too!

It's looking like they will make it just on time. ::yes::

Yes - so excited about AK and so excited that we plan to spend so much time there! ::yes::

Bummer that we won't make it to TL at all this trip - I am not even going to tell V that they are there, or I'd have to buy TL tickets. LOL

So glad to hear that the typhoon was downgraded and you are OK... It's looking like Matthew veered a little off to the east and was downgraded to a Cat 3, which is good news... Continued prayers to everyone!

Thanks, me too - I am starting to cut it very close now! ::yes::

I can't decide on the C*D bag yet... I did buy some popsicle sticks to some how attach to him, just to insure he doesn't flip forward... As long as he stays positioned correctly - I'll keep him on there. ::yes:: I"ll work on this in the coming days to see if I can figure out a way to keep him. :)

Yes - logistics worked out much better than I thought it would. ::yes::

Yay for Tokyo Disney - I know it's not exactly the same, and I am glad you get to go! Hopefully it helps you feel a little less home sick.

*******************************************************************************************************

As with most of us Disney people, Hurricane Matthew has been at the forefront of our minds over the last few days... I continue to watch live hurricane coverage and pray for everyone down there... I have several friends traveling there now and I have several more who live there - everyone (except Sue - she doesn't have FB) has checked in at some point in the last hour, so I feel a little less anxious about it. Continued prayers to all! :lovestruc

Yesterday - I had a good day... I did my heavy lifting right away. I noticed in the mirror yesterday that my back muscles are getting to be a little more defined again - this is a GOOD thing! ::woohoo: I ordered a pair of size 9/10 jeans last week - as I wanted a pair of skinny fit for under all of my boots - I was a little shocked that they actually fit me. :woohoo: I did wear them yesterday and they could stand to be a smidge looser - but, not terrible enough that I can't wear them in public. ::yes:: Also, the shorts I ordered came, they also fit. This is great news! I was worried that I wouldn't have anything to wear in WDW that wasn't short shorts. :scratchin The shorts are bermuda length - so I am a bit unsure of that... I may hem them to have about a 5" inseam - as I am very comfy wearing that length.

And my shoes shipped... According to tracking info - they should arrive just in time. :woohoo: I am sooo excited for them! I am always on the lookout for 2 pairs of shoes - my "holy grail" shoes... The first is a pair of comfy red with white dots... And the second is a pair of black with white dots. The black shoes I have now, do have white dots, which are quite small - they definitely work with my outfits, but I continue to look. I happened to be on the Vans website yesterday and I was super excited to find these... :woohoo: I knew what size I wear, because V has a pair of Vans, which fit me - I couldn't believe how quickly they jumped in my cart - I was checked out before I even had time to come to my senses - which has yet to happen. :lmao:

Screenshot_2016-10-06-04-45-20_2.png

I worked all day yesterday and managed to finish this week's custom order early - which is always nice! ::yes::

I even started on my own wallet yesterday, I hope to finish it this weekend.

And then Allison and I ran to town, we grabbed lunch and picked up V from school - I dropped her off at work and then drove to the airport... Josh and I grabbed Jimmy Johns for him and Allison for dinner, and I had leftovers from home. I've been working hard these last few days to still eat semi-W30 and no snacking. This is going well. Just taking it one day at a time.

Today... I will work out shortly - I plan to do Level 3 of 30DS.

I am taking today off of work... I need to make an effort to get to Ulta, as I am running out of time to get this done, and the way my next several days looks - today is the best day to do it. I also really want to run to Old Navy - they have a vest I really want... Trying to refrain from extra spending... Gah!!! LOL

I also need to make a grocery list of easy items to feed Josh and Allison while V and I are gone... Sadly - they will get a lot of processed food, as that is what is easiest for Allison to make.

I can't believe it's getting REAL and we are getting close! :woohoo:

We don't really have any big plans for the weekend... I'd like to take some time to finish my wallet... The house needs to be cleaned - so I will probably work on that for a while... I will also really work on packing. That's about it.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!! I will be updating my TR throughout the weekend with our intended plans... Today will be MNSSHP. Sending prayers and Pixie Dust out to everyone - especially all of my friends in Florida, and anyone who's trips are impacted by Hurricane Matthew. :lovestruc

D~

Long time lurker. Have followed all your reports. We had a dismeet a couple years ago at Target. Hope you and V have a great trip.

Those shoes are so cute! Love them!
So happy that you are seeing progress.:woohoo:I am sure there is probably a lot more progress than you realize with your weight/health. I think sometimes we are too hard on ourselves. But progress is a great motivator to press on. :thumbsup2
Have a great weekend!:goodvibes

Thanks!!! I am so excited to get them! They will be really fun to wear with my outfits! And they should match with every one of them - except for maybe my halloween outfit. :scratchin

I hope so... Some days I see progress and others I don't. LOL I think I've just gotten so used to myself at this weight that I am not seeing it anymore - or not much anyways. I just keep on, keepin' on. ::yes::

Thanks, it should be a fun one for sure. I hope you have a nice weekend too!

Crossing my fingers that everyone in Florida will be OK when Hurricane Matthew is done.

YAY for your heavy lifting showing results

The shoes will fit your outfits perfectly.

How great that you managed to finish this week's custom order early. Now you can start on the next one or make something for yourself. I can't wait to see the wallet you're making for yourself.

It's great that you are still eating semi-W30.

Your plans for MNSSHP looks great, but I don't think it's a good idea to sneak out and go to MK alone before V wakes up. But it's a fun thought though

Today the car shop finally called. The man who sells the type of car I'm getting is on holiday this week. He said I could come and get the car today, but then I wouldn't get as much information about it as if I waited. Since Ulf is away and isn't back until Monday night I said that I would like to come and pick up the car on Tuesday. The man then asked if I wanted them to get the winter tires on the car before I picked it up. I answered that it would be great. Winter is soon here and there is sort of a deadline for changing the tires and that is on the 16th October. So getting the winter tires on the car now sounds like a good idea.

I'm picking the car up and then I have a physiotherapy appointment right after so I guess Ulf and I will take the new car straight to town for the appointment. And then I have to practice driving that huge car with Ulf every day for some time before I dare to drive that thing alone. It will be a challenge to park the car in the garage I have because it's a big garage where everyone that lives here have their cars and each parking place isn't that big. Hopefully I will learn to park in my garage without damaging the car in the process.

The mountains around Tromsø had a lot of snow on them a few days ago. But today all the snow is gone. They said on the radio that it's 48.2ºF outside today and that it's warm for this time of year.

Yes - it looks like Florida is in the all clear area... WDW is back to "business as usual" today, it seems. This is a good thing. I am so glad there was very little damage, and Disney did a great job of keeping everyone safe.

I am so excited about the shoes - I just hope they aren't too hard to break in. I"ll wear them every day before we leave, and it's my goal to pack more mole skin today, just in case. ::yes::

I am trying hard - I don't want to eat too W30 right now, as I know it won't be long and I'll be eating Disney food... So, I am trying to keep it a little balanced. Hopefully it works out OK for me.

Hehehe... I'll see how i feel that morning. I don't think she'd be too thrilled with me, if I had to wake her up via a phone call from MK. :lmao: However, it would make a funny story. ::yes::

Yay!!! So glad you are getting your car on Tuesday - AND they are getting the winter tires on it for you! :woohoo: I was hoping for good news soon! I know the weather is very quickly turning (here too, we were in a frost advisory last night), so I hope you get enough time to get used to driving the car in good conditions before it turns bad.

Have a great weekend Lillian!

I'm so glad your new shorts fit, and those shoes are absolutely adorable! I love them! I've never tried Vans, although my daughters really like them. Hmmm....I might need to look into getting some. Yea for getting your custom bag done and getting a start on your wallet.

My girls and I love the Halloween party. Love, love, love it. It's so much fun. Your plan for your AK day sounds great, and your plan for your MNSSHP sounds great, too. 'Ohana is our family favorite dinner ADR, so I wonder how we would like breakfast there. We did our first ever breakfast ADR in August when Alyssa and I were there with my sister -- we did Kona Café and we loved it.

It turns out that one of my best friends at work is going to be going to the conference in Tampa next month that I have to go present at...she is a HUGE Disney fan also and she just happens to have four one day park hopper tickets that she won in her nephew's school fundraiser ($100 each) and we started talking yesterday about her and I adding on a day to the conference trip so we could go to Disney together. I talked to my husband about it last night since he said he might like to go with me to Tampa, but he didn't want to do Disney...and he said MaryKate and I should go and have a great time. So I'm going to get an unexpected day at Disney this year! We'll only do one day, and part of that will be at Epcot because neither of us have done Food and Wine Festival and we'd like to see that...not sure which other park we'll hit that day...I really want Magic Kingdom but I'm not sure which park MaryKate wants to go to. It will just be a quick one day, but that's better than nothing. I'm excited!

Hehehe.... I cannot believe how excited I am over a pair of shoes! LOL It's borderline ridiculous! Ahhh - but it's the little things sometimes, isn't it? I have pretty difficult feet, they've gotten much better since I've lost weight, and I can handle wearing shoes like this for a bit of time before I have to switch back to my flip flops (which are an orthotic type) - So, I will be wearing them on days when we plan to park hop in the afternoon, or I will just carry my flip flops with me in my park bag. Now, if they would just make red ones with white dots and a black line - exactly like the ones I got, but reversed colors - I would be one happy girl! :woohoo:

We are so excited for every single day of plans - there really is no bad day in Disney, IMO. LOL Each day has exciting elements. ::yes:: We've done 'Ohana breakfast several times, we've only done dinner there once - we prefer breakfast, especially when we can work it out to be later in the day like this one is. We did Kona during Allison's trip in Jan - it wasn't a favorite... but V's favorite is "macadamia nut anything" - I am certain those pancakes will be a HUGE hit with her! ::yes::

Eeeep!!! That is sooo exciting!!! I wish it would be in October while we are there - but I am still thrilled for you! I wish I lived close enough to do just one Disney day every now n' then. ::yes:: Have fun planning and I can't wait to hear what you decide! :woohoo:

I just love reading about your plans! I'm now thinking seriously of booking a trip for next Oct. If my sister can't convince her husband to let her go, my DH may be drafted. He enjoys it while we're there but doesn't get overly excited ahead of time. He really is a good sport though. It's such a good feeling to try on clothes and have them fit - yay! Love the shoes and the throwback picture. Your plans for the party day sound perfect!

Rene'

In all honesty - we have been to Disney during several different times of the year... Jan, March, August, October & November.... I have to say that October is my favorite - the weather is (usually) nice and Disney does Halloween right, IMO. I just love their fall decor and the Halloween party. ::yes:: I urge everyone to go at that time of year, at least once.

Glad to hear that your DH is a good sport... Mine isn't - and it's tough. However, he's been warned - when BMTL take their big trip to Disney in a few years - Uncle Josh will be there and will enjoy it. LOL

Yes - I wish these clothing items were a little less tight on me, and I know with my upcoming trip to Disney - they will get worse before they get better, and I am pushing through - I am going to try to be a *little* good while I am down there. ::yes::

Thanks - I am so excited to get the shoes! I love them so much and they will go with nearly every outfit... I am so frugal that things like this excite me. LOL

Thanks - we are very excited to go to the party - and it's even more exciting that V paid for the entire thing. I am so proud of her for all of the saving she has been doing, it's really fabulous. First the party, and now her souvies - which I am 99% sure she will spend on everyone, but herself. LOL

Thanks for checking in - it was great to see you - have a nice weekend! :)

This year they are funneling everyone who has MNSSHP tickets through a side "back stage" door by Tony's. This is where they are handing out the Trick or Treat bags. You will come out close to the Tomorrowland Terrace. Make sure to plan that in your timing to get to your fast pass. We didn't try to head down Main Street so I'm not sure they would stop you but there were quite a few cast members pushing people to the the side entrance.

We saw the Hocus Pocus show. It was great!! Definitely worth the wait.

Ooooh - this is good to know - thanks for the warning. This is very new. At least I know, so maybe I can ask if I can go through Main Street? :scratchin I am sure they are doing this to try to circumvent the people who have been sneaking into the parties on their regular tickets? :scratchin

I am so excited to see that show - we watch Hocus Pocus every year at Halloween time, it's a must do for us... I couldn't believe it last year when they announced the stage show - I was praying they'd continue it this year. ::yes::

Adorable shoes! I'm glad they will be here in time & that the rest of your clothes came in & fit. I'm like you, I like longer inseams on my shorts too. The ones I ordered for the trip are perfect.

Yes. Exactly this. All things PUMPKIN!

Me too! I knew it just depended on when they shipped... Now I just hope I can break them in enough to make them OK to wear a few days - I will still have all of my other shoes with too.

I prefer longer inseams - but not too long, as I am a short person - so I think they make me look really short. LOL I definitely don't like my rear showing out the back either... I like a nice mid-length. ::yes::

Eeep - I am not sure if it's the pumpkin or the cream cheese frosting - I am pretty sure it's both... But man - my favorite frosting is cream cheese. ::yes:: Carrot cake, spice cake, pumpkin cake... All of it with cream cheese frosting - home made. ::yes:: YUM!

Long time lurker. Have followed all your reports. We had a dismeet a couple years ago at Target. Hope you and V have a great trip.

Hi Kim!!! I remember you! It was so fun meeting someone from The Dis in real life! I sort of "expect" it when I am in WDW - but at home, it's the furthest thing from my mind - so I am glad you said hello that day. ::yes:: I hope you are doing well? It's great to see you here again! :lovestruc

***********************************************************************************************************

Alrighty everyone.... I had a fun day yesterday! :woohoo: My apologies for a long update today...

First off - I skipped my work out... Terrible, I know. Annd - I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast... So, I double whammied my bad food day right from the start. Thankfully - I was reasonably good for the rest of the day, so I feel very little guilt from that.

I headed out on my shopping adventure - I only had a few things on my list...

Ulta for my lip gloss... I think I need to do a make-up packing post this week. Any interest in that? I just LOVE make-up (thanks to Allison), and it's so fun for me to sort it and figure out what I am bringing with me on trips. ::yes:: Which reminds me - I need to wash my make-up brushes this weekend, so they are fresh for the trip too.

Then I found myself at Kohls - I was acutally going for socks, and then I was distracted and never did get socks... So I need to go back. I found the cutest black top - tunic length - with white dots! :woohoo: It is see through - totally - so I"ll be wearing a tank top under it. Best part - it was on clearance for $8, plus I had a friends and family coupon for 20% off. ::yes:: That item is now in my wash pile so I can pack it.

My real reason for going that direction was Old Navy... I have this super cute and comfy lightweight quilted vest (black) that I wear all of the time, it's from last year. They came out with them again this year, and I felt it was necessary to get a couple more colors... They were on sale yesterday (the one is not today???) - not the greatest deal, but the gray one is pretty much sold out online, and that was the one I really wanted (of course, it's back in stock online today too... LOL) http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=98796&vid=1&pid=333090002 And then I also purchased a cream one... http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=98796&vid=1&pid=227490012 I love these vests because they are light weight and I can wear them comfortably under a winter jacket - the puffier ones, I cannot... it's too bulky and drives me nuts. And - on top of that... I love ON because they give a 10% military discount (so does American Eagle and many others) on top of the other discounts - which is awesome!

OK - I left the mall right away, I didn't want to be tempted to spend anywhere else... I got the 2 items I really wanted.

I headed over to BFFs work to say hi... I didn't stay long, because there was a lot of construction in the area and I still had to stop at Target to grab a few groceries.

Of course - at Target, I found too much... Story of my life, I swear...

They had swimwear at 70% off, and V can wear their swimwear... I found something cute... I figured for $10 to have an extra swimsuit with us on the trip, that would be a good thing. ::yes::

I also, FINALLY, happened upon a long tunic length knit tank top in dark purple!!! :woohoo: I've been looking for one ALL SUMMER to go with my Halloween outfit - I couldn't believe I found it in the fall. I purchased it in a Large - they didn't have an XL - and even though I typically wear a solid large - I like tops like this to definitely cover my bum, so I prefer to buy them a size larger. Sadly, this one wasn't available anywhere in the metro - so I settled on the large size. When I got home, I tried it on, and it will work. I'd prefer it bigger, but it will be OK. ::yes:: It covers my bum and that's the most important thing. ::yes::

Ummm... I think that's all I got that was trip related.

I came home, unpacked groceries...

My new Fitbit Alta came.... I don't think I told you all about that? :scratchin I got my Fitbit Charge exactly 1 year ago... I am always quite careful with it, but the band started to peel away from the tracker... I did some research and found out this is a pretty common issue with the charge. I contacted Fitbit twice about it (I am not sure they got my first email?), because once I contacted them the second time, it was resolved within hours. Fitbit no longer sells the regular Charge (just the Charge HR), so they replaced mine with the Alta - free of charge. How awesome is that? Even better that it was here with in 2 days. So, I spend the majority of my afternoon trying to set up the Alta to get it to sync with my phone... Now it's working and tracking perfectly. Fitbit told me to recycle my Charge, so I gave it to Josh to see if he could glue it or something? Maybe get it to work for him, since he showed interest in it. I was thinking - if he wears it and likes it, a new one would make a nice Christmas gift for him. ::yes::

We went out to dinner last night... Our favorite Chinese place... I was hungry for it - but yet again, I grabbed my favorites, took a couple of bites and the food kind of gave me a sickening feeling. So, I ate very little of the Chinese stuff and stuck to mostly the fresh fruit area... This makes me a little nervous for eating in WDW.

And that's it... I sat on my tablet for the rest of the night.

Today... I plan to work on my wallet - I hope to get that finished. I haven't decided if I am going to put a simple applique on it? Or if I am just going to leave it plain? :scratchin We'll see what I am in the mood for when I get up there.

Also - today is V's BIG laundry and packing day. :woohoo: Her schedule is so jam packed between now and when we leave - this is her only real day available to get this done. Soooo exciting! I am also urging her to clean out her Vera Bradley Disney backpack - which she has been using for school - so I can try to repair the little portion of the strap that ripped away from the bag, so it doesn't get worse. Then she can use her old one for the remainder of school days she has left, and pack this one. ::yes::

I think that's about it for today...

I may run to town to purchase the last of my GCs I need for the trip... Which essentially is my souvenir budget $$. Now that every thing else is paid for - I know how much I have to spend for fun down there.

And that's it! Stay tuned for our Universal Studios plans...

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Those of you who are in the path of Matthew, please stay safe. Prayers and Pixie Dust to all! :lovestruc

D~

Universal Studios plan...

I will wake early this morning...

It looks like U/S opens at 8am this day... So we will need to leave our resort by 6:30? That sounds so early?

Santos is planning to pick us up, and take us to U/S, so I haven't booked any sort of shuttle service.

We will get there early, so I can plan to switch our Military passes into hard card tickets (or whatever it is that they have) - because I will just have a paper ticket, which won't get us through the turnstyles.

We will head straight back to the Harry Potter area and do all of the rides and attractions there.

We will board the train and head over to the other park and do the same thing.

We will have lunch in whichever HP themed area we happen to be in.

I need to be very cautious in these parks, as last time, I was quite sick - all of the 3D rides really do me in, so I fear I will need to sit a few of them out.

V will have Allison's interactive wand with her, so I am sure she will be trying out a few spells along the way.

I also need to have some Pumpkin Juice - as I forgot to try that last time, and I've been regretting it since.

We will be stopping for ice cream at Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour - that was a highlight of our last trip there, I will be ordering the exact same thing I had last time, the Lavender and the Clotted Cream flavors. YUM! ::yes::

Since I know I can handle all of the HP rides - we will be doing those as much as possible.

I also know that V wants to spend some time in the Dr. Seuss area - so we will make a point to do that too.

For dinner, we will eat in whichever HP area we are in - hopefully in the opposite park. When we were there last time, I have to admit, I preferred the food at 3 Broomsticks over the food at the Leaky Cauldron - I just didn't enjoy the fish all that much - it gave me a sickening feeling, I think because it's deep fried?

The park closes quite early on this night - 7pm... Hopefully we will be back at our resort at a half-way decent hour. ::yes::

I had to laugh when I red that you read that you didn't get the socks you went to Kohls to buy but got home with some other stuff instead. Sounds like it was good shopping even if you didn't get the socks :woohoo:
Sounds like you found a lot of great stuff at Target as well :woohoo:

How awesome that you got your Fitbit replaced to Alta free of charge. It's great with companies that has that kind of service :woohoo:
Sounds like a good idea to get Josh to glue your old Fitbit and let him try it for a while and then get a new one for him for Christmas. Nothing better than to get someone a Christmas gift you know they like and will use.

Sorry to hear you didn't feel well after eating a little Chinese food. Crossing my fingers that the food at WDW doesn't make you feel sick.

Your plans for Universal Studios sounds like you going to have a lot of fun.

I can totally understand the 3D rides at Universal Studio making you sick. I get sick of those kind of rides as well. I have never been to Universal Studios because I hate roller
coasters so I don't think it's worth it to pay a lot of money to go there even if it would be cool to see the Harry Potter part of the park.

I can't believe you have had frost advisory already because we haven't had frost advisory yet. The weather forecast says it won't be frost advisory here the next week either which is great because then I can practice driving my new car not worrying about frost advisory yet.

I went to my parents house and ate take away Chinese food for dinner. I ordered fried duck with sweet and sour sauce and rice. It was a lot of food so after eating 1/2 of it I was full. I took the rest of the food with me home so I can it the leftovers today.

Other than that nothing exciting happened yesterday.

Sounds like you had a great shopping day yesterday. Yea! In glad you found a dark purple shirt that will work. I am excited to see pics from your trip and see all your cute outfits!

My daughter informed me that we only have 9 more days of W30. I though we had longer.... I will admit that the joint pain is gone and no "tiger blood" although some days I have more energy, but some days I still have horrible chronic fatigue. My joint pain has not gone away but my stomach has definitely been doing better and that's good. I'm debating about continuing in a bit longer myself....I haven't decided yet.

I certainly won't be doing W30 at Disney - there are some things at Food and Wine that I really want to try, and some "must haves" at Disney Springs as well. :-)

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Dee,

We made it out of Orlando on Wednesday, before they closed the airport and the parks. We had a very nice trip and best of all, a rain free Halloween party. :cheer2: Our MNNSHP night was a lot of fun and I got all my 'must do ' things down, so that was good.

It was very hot and humid, though, during our trip. We got rained out of our Star Wars night, which was a disappointment. The nice thing was that we saw the SW fireworks from our resort room that night and from our table at Narcoosses the other night. That was fun to see. :)

We had a very nice evening at AK. The afternoon rains had chased the crowds out of the park and the animals were active with the cooler temps. I think we will only go to AK at night from now on. ::yes::

I hope you have safe travels and a great time. :) I'll be thinking of you while we get our kitchen ready for remodeling.

Good morning!

I am new to chiming in on your report. My name is Heidi. I also have two daughters and am in the process of planning a trip with my oldest coming up in May! I have wanted to do a one on one trip with each of my girls for a long time and my husband finally agreed with me (after a lot of coaxing :rolleyes2). She will be 13 at the time of the trip and to say we are excited is an understatement.

I also enjoy reading your reports because we are kind of "neighbors." I grew up in Minnesota and have family in Northfield. Such a beautiful area!

Your planning is looking awesome and I can't wait to hear more!

Hi, D! Your Disney and U/S plans sound great! I hope you and V have an awesome time!

Tomorrow is my DH's 40th birthday and since me and the boys have a few days off of school, we are headed to Cooperstown and upstate NY for a few days. I'm guessing you'll probably be on your way by the time we return home. I can't wait to hear all about your trip!

To start - ONLY 8 shoes/flip-flops are packed?! o_O I'm lucky if I pack more than 2.

Sounds like you have some pretty great days planned and I know you must be so excited as your trip gets closer and closer!

Love your new shoes! I have one pair of Vans and they are light grey with small white dots. I love polka dots!! ::yes::

I'm thinking you need a Target intervention! It does look like you were able to score some amazing deals though!

Well, they released our long awaited employee discount codes since the acquisition of Starwood and they are awesome BUT so limited. I immediately looked up Swan/Dolphin and there they were with a rate of $89 but only available ONE day. Sigh. Still, I may just book so we can try it out and because come on, $89?! We shall see.

I hope your weekend has been lovely!

I know, right... So now - the next time I am over that way, I need to run in and grab socks. LOL

I was very shocked that Fitbit replaced my Charge so easily - it was very awesome of them. I also love it when companies stand behind their products. There are definitely things I like more about my Charge and there are things I like more about the Alta - so we will see how it goes. I definitely like the fact that the Alta looks more "girly", and that it's much more slim than the Charge, which will be very helpful in WDW - as I wear so much stuff on my wrists. ::yes::

I think I will need to be a little careful in WDW, and really watch how much fried food I eat.

I do think Universal is worth it for the Harry Potter portion - which you can easily do in one day. So, if you ever get the chance to go, I would. Yes, there are a lot of roller coasters, however - I found that most of the rides were the ones where you ride through a simulator and wear the 3D glasses - I can tolerate a few of those, but not a lot - so this time, I'll need to be choosy.

Yes - 2 nights in a row now with frost advisories... We turned our furnace on yesterday as we were all running around the house with several layers on. LOL Hopefully we won't have to keep it on for the season quite yet. It sounds like today is supposed to be a little warmer.

Your Chinese dinner sounds delicious - I hope you enjoyed your left-overs. :)

I was so THRILLED about finding the dark purple shirt! :woohoo: They had it in several colors - and i am tempted to go back and grab one or two more, as they fit nicely. I hope all of my outfits are cute this time - I am so nervous - I am just not that confident in myself lately, and it's difficult.

Awesome!! You are doing great! I am so proud of you! I am happy to hear that you are seeing some of the benefits... I think each person's experience is different... I never really had Tiger Blood either - however, I chalked it up to being a pretty active person already - I think the people who experience it more are the people who previously aren't very active? I am not certain - it's just my own personal theory. ::yes:: I cant' wait to hear what you decide. I already know that I"ll likely do some sort of reset when I get home from Disney - as my jeans barely fit me now, I am not expecting them to fit me when I get back - so I'll need to do something to insure I can wear them this winter. LOL

Oh - I won't be doing W30 at Disney either... But I will try to be semi-good when I can. There is just sooo much there that I love! ::yes::

Thank you - I hope you are having a nice weekend!

SUE!!!! It's great to see you!!! I am so happy to hear that you are home... I was able to see that all of my friends were safe from the hurricane, except for you. So, thanks for checking in!

I am so happy to hear that you had a nice trip and that the weather was mostly good. That is awesome! When is your next trip planned?

I am very much looking forward to spending time in AK at night this trip - we have 2 nights where we are planning to be there, and I am very excited about it. I'll never forget how beautiful the Tree was all lit up at night - it's such a (previously) rare experience, and one that I look forward to doing! :woohoo:

Thank you!!! Oooooh - I am so excited to hear about your remodel! I hope you'll show pictures and progress with me! :woohoo:

Again - it's great to see you Sue, thank you for stopping by!

Welcome Heidi!!! It's nice to meet you!

Oooh - your one on one trip sounds great!!! I have truly enjoyed doing these trips with my girls - and they have created some of the best memories for us - not only that, but it's given them the confidence and ability to travel on their own - which was something I was terrified to do for a long time. ::yes::

So, tell me more about your trip - where are you staying? What are your plans?

Cool! We find ourselves in Northfield quite often... It's such a beautiful little city - it's so charming and I love the history they've kept alive there. :lovesruc

Thanks! We are so looking forward to sharing this trip with you all! it will be lots of fun! :woohoo:

Thanks for stopping by - I love meeting the people that follow my TRs! :lovestruc

Thanks - we are so excited! :woohoo: As the days go by and our trip gets closer, we are finding it hard to contain ourselves. LOL

Happy birthday to your DH! And have fun on your vacation - it sounds wonderful!

I am so excited to share my trip here with you all! :lovestruc Thank you for the well wishes. Wishing you safe travels too!

I hope your weekend has been lovely!

Hahaha... Yes *only* 8 pairs.... My feet are pretty sensitive, so I consciously wear different shoes through out the day to give my feet a break... I feel like it really helps a lot, especially when we are on them so much in WDW. I always bring with several pairs of my same flip flops - even though they are the exact same thing, they are a little different, and it feels good to change them out.

V and I are terribly excited - we cannot wait! As the days get closer and closer, I find myself making more and more lists. LOL

Cute!!! I think I ordered my Vans a half size too big. :( I checked V's yesterday, and I didn't realize that we ordered her a half size smaller than what she normally wears... We will see, because when I tried her's on, they were a smidge too short on me - so maybe I will be fine? I tend to be very particular about my shoes - they can't be too big and they cant' be too small. LOL

Hahahaha - I *know* I need Target intervention... And Starbucks intervention. LOL We find ourselves there almost every day. And I try very hard to only buy what I need... Most days I am successful. Most days. :scratchin

Woohoo - so happy to hear that your discount was finally released... But a HUGE bummer that it was so little and the availability was so limited... Maybe it will be more open next year - like maybe they only have so much available, and it filled up quickly? Fingers crossed that it's something like that. Yes - for $89/night, definitely worth trying out!

Thank you - it's been really busy - trying to get all of our last minute stuff organized and more lists made, so I don't forget anything. LOL I hope you have a nice weekend too!

***********************************************************************************************************

So, yesterday... I never even left my pajamas. I was that lazy.

I did work upstairs until lunch time... I made one wallet and my measurements just didn't work out right - so it was too small. Which was a bummer, but it happens sometimes when I am trying something new. The second time, I decided not to quilt it, and just use interfacing - for as small as I wanted it, the quilting just made it too bulky. ::yes:: It turned out much better. It looks a little lopsided in the picture - but I assure you that it isn't, I just have stuff in it, I didn't think to take it out for the photo. ::yes:: Overall, I am happy with it - the size is much better - and I did make a pocket on the back for my military ID and SoG bus pass - so I don't have to dig through my entire wallet all of the time. (and forgive the fuzz, I forgot to lint roll before taking the photo)

20161008_115100.jpg

Then, V also talked me into remaking her Harry Potter wallet - the original one I had made was too big for her liking... Sigh. There are benefits to being able to make them what they want - but they also know that I can remake it if they don't like it. LOL Sometimes I think I've created monsters. LOL Sadly - I don't have any pictures of V's new wallet - she really likes it much better now though - which is good.

While I was working - Cindy messaged me, she was at the Disney outlet in Orlando... Yah - they had 2 of my favorite Vera Bradley patterns there - and a nice selection of them... So, I may or may not have done a little bit of advance shopping with some of my souvenir money... :scratchin: Let's just say that I have a nice personal stock pile of Midnight with Mickey and Perfect Petals hipsters. ::yes:: For less than the price of ONE at WDW. Thanks so much Cindy!!! :lovestruc

After that - I was totally lazy all day. Like, under a blanket, on my recliner, in my jammies lazy all day. ::yes:: It was nice.

Until I started my list making after dinner and realized I have so much to do yet before our trip - my time yesterday spent in my recliner would have been much better off used for trip prep stuff. Doh!

So, today, I will be working on some trip stuff...

I will also be making a trip to town with V - she is getting very close to being ready for her road test - so we are going to go work on some of her parking skills. While we are in town - we will probably go to Target and Starbucks. LOL No surprise there.

These next few days are going to be incredibly crazy! I have so much going on, not related to the trip. Lots and lots of lists are necessary, otherwise I'd forget everything I need to do!

I have a cute picture of all 4 of my "kids" from last night... They were all trying to cuddle on the couch so nicely - except for Cooper, he is such a puppy yet and can't sit still - he is so funny!

20161008_211912.jpg

I hope you all have a marvelous Sunday!!! Sending out prayers and Pixie Dust to all of you!!! Stay tuned for our day off plans!

D~

One of our days off - plans

Isn't it funny that I seriously debated on what to title this post... Day off A or B, Day off 1 or 2, Off Day X, Y, Z... Finally - I just settled on the above. LOL

So, V gets to "sleep in" a little bit on this vacation... I tried really hard to fit her "not a morning person" personality into this trip - which, as you all know, is super hard for me, as I am definitely an early riser by nature. Typically - my day is finished by noon every day, because I just get going that early. ::yes::

Anyways...

On this day, we have a late (11:15am) breakfast planned at The Wave.... I am VERY excited to introduce V to the foods here - it is one of my favorites!

I gave V several options of things to do on this day, but in the end - she chose something that I didn't even mention....

Once we are done with breakfast - V wants to head over to AoA and explore. On our 2013 trip, we met Suzi and family there, and we wandered around the Cars area - V loved that so much and wants to re-explore that area, along with venturing off to explore the other areas. I thought this sounded like a fantastic plan! It will be fun to do this and explore their gift shops too... Maybe grab a snack? Any suggestions for what we need to do/snacks to eat at AoA?

At some point, while we are at AoA, Cindy is going to meet up with us. She has so kindly offered (OK, I asked) to take us to one (or both) of the Disney Outlets... I've never been there and always wanted to go. I am hoping that maybe they have more Vera Bradley stuff left? Or even some fun souvies to take home as Christmas gifts - seeing as I will have an extra piece of luggage with on this trip.

I am sure we will take her out for dinner or something fun this night.

I do hope that we can make it back to our resort with enough time to swim and relax too.

I'd like to be in bed early this day, as we have a full park day ahead of us the following day. ::yes::

D~

Hahaha... Yes *only* 8 pairs.... My feet are pretty sensitive, so I consciously wear different shoes through out the day to give my feet a break
That is smart. My DH only took one pair of shoes with us to Disneyland. His feet were killing him.
Love the wallet. Do you have a picture of the Id pocket?

Your wallet looks great.

How nice of you to remake V's Harry Potter wallet. I'm so glad she likes it much better now. That makes your hard work worth it.

YAY for Cindy findin some Vera Bradley patterns for you :woohoo:

I can't believe V is getting close to being ready for her road test. Parking practice is important because when you take the car somewhere it's often because you need to park it so you can walk somewhere. I'm a little scared for my parking practice with my new car. I really hope I can learn to park that thing in my garage without damaging it :)

What a great picture of the girls and the dogs. :lovestruc

Your day off at Disney sounds like a fun day. How nice of Cindy to say yes to take you to one (or both) of the Disney Outlets. I'm sure the prices are much nicer there than at WDW.

No frost advisories here yet. The weather is very warm for this time of year. It looks like it's going to rain here on Tuesday. Crossing my fingers it won't be too bad since it's a little harder to drive in rain than in cloudy weather. The sunset is at 5.30PM now and soon we are turning the clock one hour back and then it will be dark even earlier.

I'm not used to driving in the dark since I haven't had to do it since early May. It's weird how fast you forget how to drive in the dark when you don't do it for almost 5 months.

The hours can't go fast enough now. I'm so excited about getting my new car and I can't wait until Tuesday at 1.30PM when I have the appointment to pick it up.

Ulf and I are going to Stavanger next weekend from Friday to Sunday to a geocaching meeting. I do look forward to the trip but at the same time I can't help thinking about the hours I loose to practice driving my new car. The weekend after both Ulf and I are at home. But the last weekend of October Ulf is going away on a Tai Chi course again so then he won't be able to practice driving with me. So I'm crossing my fingers that I have gotten enough practice by then so I'm confident in myself to drive the car alone. If I don't feel a can handle the car on my own yet I will just have to drive my old car. I'm planning on keeping my old car for a while until I see that the my new car is working as it should and that I don't need to go into the garage to adjust the customized pedals.

I'm so sorry to rant so much about my new car. It's just that I'm so excited to get it and I really can't wait until Tuesday.

Which Disney Outlet location had the Vera Bradley stuff? It's highly unlikely they'll have any when I'm there next month (next month!!!) but since our departure day will be spent at Disney Springs before we head to Tampa to catch our flight, I think we can squeeze in a trip to the outlet if it's worth going....

Your wallet is so cute! I have a couple of little VB wallets that size but I'd like to get a Disney one. Might have to look for one while I'm there... I use a huge wallet normally, but when I am at Disney and just carrying my hipster I don't want my huge wallet -- just a little zipper pouch like that one. Hopefully they'll have one in the print that matches my hipster....

Sometimes we all need a day spent in our pajamas! I have been in my pajamas until noon every day that I worked from home this week! LOL Some days are just like that.

I have a problem with Target, too -- it's an addition. It's terrible! :-)

Your trip is getting so close! Very exciting!

Cute picture of the girls with Cooper and Max!

I'm glad Cindy found some Vera that you liked for you. When we were there last month there wasn't anything. I really didn't like the 2 patterns that Disney had at that time. I love the triple zipper crossbody but note the black pattern they had so I still have gcs I didn't use.
I pack a lot of shoes, too. We go stuck in the tropical storm when we were there and ended up with very wet shoes so thee is a good reason to bring extra.
It's getting cooler here, too. I really don't want to turn the heat on. We're supposed to go out today and get apples and then go to Geneva on the Lake and walk around. We'll see if wee actually get there. The wind is coming from the North today which means it's coming right off the lake.
I'm taking a week's vacation this week because after October 31 I won't be able to and I has so much PTO time. I have no real plans other than working on a few sewing projects.
I can't believe your trip's almost here. I wish I was going back.
Have a good day.
Liz

I am so happy to hear that you had a nice trip and that the weather was mostly good. That is awesome! When is your next trip planned?
I'm sorry that I didn't check in sooner. I was suffering from a little Disney depression, something I don't usually get, and I was avoiding the Dis a little. Anyway, we are excited to be returning to WDW Dec 3rd to 7th. And with the new 13 month AP renewal, we can return next December.

The funny thing about the AP renewal was that we arrived in WDW on Oct 1st, the day the discount was released. I was in line to buy a TiW discount card when I decided to check my email. While I was reading the email from Disney Destinations about the new 20% off discounts for Annual Passholders, the CM was processing our TiW payment. If I had only read that email about five minutes earlier, I wouldn't have bought the TiW card. Oh well. But we were able to use it at Liberty Tree Tavern and Crews Cup Lounge where we ate both lunch and dinner, and so we will eventually break even or come out ahead. We also have a trip planned in March with my sister and friend, so it will get used.

Thank you!!! Oooooh - I am so excited to hear about your remodel! I hope you'll show pictures and progress with me! :woohoo:
I didn't realize it at the time, but when I took all those pictures of my kitchen to send to you I was creating a photographic record of what my kitchen used to look like. I'll be sure to send you the finished product. You'll have to wait until January, though, until it is finished. :faint:

So, V gets to "sleep in" a little bit on this vacation... I tried really hard to fit her "not a morning person" personality into this trip - which, as you all know, is super hard for me, as I am definitely an early riser by nature. Typically - my day is finished by noon every day, because I just get going that early. ::yes::
What are you going to do for all that time? We like to be out early like you do. DH would go nuts if he had a relaxing morning. ;)

On this day, we have a late (11:15am) breakfast planned at The Wave.... I am VERY excited to introduce V to the foods here - it is one of my favorites!
We are planning to eat there in December. We want a trip without a lot of things planned out and the Wave is perfect for last minute ADR's.

We had fun exploring both AoA and Pop Century. We had never been to a value resort before and wanted to see what they look like. We ended up eating lunch at the Pop food court and it was pretty good food. We were able to use our TiW card there, since they take the discount. :)

Loving reading about your plans as always. Your U/S day sounds just perfect - Harry Potter all the way. I could live on the Butterbeer...mmmm. That Lavender and Cream ice cream sounds divine. Also the first "day off" sounds great too. I find it really funny that when people who have never been to Disney or Orlando ask me for advice, I always say that you should try to have extra days to not go to a park because it is exhausting. People don't seem to want to get that sometimes....until after their trip....

Hey there D - happy Sunday and happy almost Disney time. I love your last minute shopping. The new Van's are too too cute. I have a serious Target addiction as well. I have a Super Target which is stocked really well. I "dropped in" late last night and of course had to throw in some cute Halloween stuff.

Your V and my Shane; so not morning people. It would drive me nuts even on a down day at Disney not to do SOMETHING! I would have to sneak away early and come back.

Hope you incorporate more varieties of food this week. Your stomach will thank you later. Sick stomachs at Disney are not allowed.

Love your Universal day; I haven't been to Universal in a million years; way before HP was even dreamed of there. V is so going to love it.

Wishing you lots of pixie dust and energy for the week ahead!!!

Love and hugs
