I'm 30. Ds loves him too and he is 8.

Now, for another important question. How many of us on the cusp of the poll options picked the 'younger set'?:lmao: I picked 25-30 instead of 30-35.;)

38 y.o. here and so is my DH who is 5 years younger than me. Our neighbors are parrot heads too!!! I still have my original 45 of Margaritaville.

I'm 42 and since my option wasn't there I chose 35 to 40 :thumbsup2
I'm growing older not up.

Love the music, not quite sure I'm up to a concert, though...

I'm 27 and I've only discovered it in the last 3-4 years.

One of my girlfriends used "Little Miss Magic" for her dance with her dad at her wedding. I thought that was an awesome idea!

Serious question--do you think it's as much fun/worth going if you're not "chemically enhanced" one way or the other?

TOTALLY not judging others who enjoy it that way, but neither DH nor I can drink or otherwise partake for medical reasons. I always wondered if it would be fun sober, or if that's really so much of the experience that we might as well stay home and just pop in Songs You Know By Heart.

I'm 33 and DH is 36. He is not a JB fan (I know, I married the wrong guy!) but he's coming to Foxboro with me this summer. He thinks JB sings "hippie music". My username is my tribute JB. Favorite songs are Love & Luck and Boat Drinks.

I haven't been since they moved it outta great woods :(

Hopefully when he's done with the stadiums & ball parks he'll come back. GW was lots of fun.

43 and my age isn't on there either. Been a fan for many years. Going to Camden in five days. Fave songs, Lovely Cruise, Barometer Soup, Barefoot Children, Trying to Reason, Tin Cup Chalice

So jealous - Camden tickets are impossible to get. Have a great time!

I am 20 and I am a Parrothead, but I won't admit it to my parents :rotfl:

My parents and all of their friends are serious parrotheads, so I've been surrounded by Buffett and all that craziness my entire life. I've even seen my Dad and his best friend in a coconut bra and grass skirt  :rotfl2:

LOL I hope this is how my DD grows up. We listen to JB and that's about it. She knows a lot of his songs and is going to 2 concerts with me this summer. I wanted to get her to one before he hangs it up. Sometimes we forget that he's 60!

Where's Maggimus on this thread?? She started the other one a few days about about us all uniting :)

If you have ever been to a party where you sober and surrounded by a bunch of people that were totally blitzed, youv'e had the experience.

I went to one JB concert and I was totally sober - pregnant with DD. The person behind me puked all over the back of my feet. Maybe if I had been chemically enhanced I wouldn't have felt it :dance3:

I would never choose to stay home and listen to SYKBH if I had the chance to go. The experience of tailgating and pretending you're living the island life for 4 hours is great whether you're sober or not.

we actually rented buses and had a huge group and it was probably split 50/50 with drinkers and not drinkers...
It is always fun to be around good friends enjoying good food and fun isn't it!!
The concert itself is fun too ~ if you again like concerts... beach balls bouncing around people dancing everywhere... just fun.

I'm the youngest Parrot Head here!?!?!?!

I'll be 24 in a few weeks.

DS2 has pretty much turned into a Parrot Head, thanks to DH and I, as well as my IL's! He actually recognizes when a JB song comes on the radio and bops along to it in his carseat :cool1: . I was unfamiliar with JB until I met DH and he converted me (lol, he couldn't stand listening to any more Barry Manilow or Bee Gees!).

I'm 53. Not much younger than Buffett. I've worn out a couple shirts for his concerts and I partied with him not even knowing who he was on Useppa Island in the mid/late 70's. No need for names. Isn't that a hoot!?

For all you skeptics, not everyone at a Buffett concert is high. Many of us have given up the lifestyle and still love the music, much like Buffett himself.

Well, since I don't like the taste of alcohol, I experience everything sober :rotfl: and I had a good time at the JB concert in Camden a couple of years ago (until some drunk/high teenagers knocked my MIL over and she ended up in the ER with a concussion  halfway through the concert). I actually find it amusing to watch people get drunk off their rockers (as long as they aren't bothering anyone) and make fools of themselves, so it was like a free preshow in the parking lot!

I'd say go and have a good time. None of us (MIL, FIL, DH or I) were drunk and we all had a blast. If you have the option to get regular seats instead of "lawn seating" I would definitely go that route.

I don't think I qualify for Parrothead, but I do like him. I have his boxed set of cds, and I saw him do a great show in Miami about 30 years ago (when I was 22). You do the math.;)

DH and I are huge Buffett phans! We are both 36 and we have 3 keets as well. As you can see in my countdown ticker.......heading back to Vegas in October and can't wait!

Favorite songs

1. Fins
2. Take the Weather With You
3. Elvis Presley Blues
4. Stars on the Water
5. My head hurts, my feet stink
6. Growing Older but not up!

We are also in the leadership of our local parrot head club and we held a charity auction and a guy who knew a guy knew Jimmys luthier and he was able to get us 2 sets of guitar pics. 1 set was from the Hurricane Katrina benefit concert and the other was from his Anguilla concert this year. He also sent along a pair of autographed flip flops that he wore at the Anguilla concert. Of course I had to have a picture of my foot in the flip flop.

I'm 50 and DH is 51.....DH and I have been parrotheads since 1974...... Come Monday has special meaning for us and has been "our song" since then.
We haven't been able to go to a concert in 12 years, so we go to Margaritaville when in Orlando, and we go to Lulu's (his sister's place is the next best thing!) when at our condo in Perdido Key.
I can't wait till his Margaritaville Casino and Resort opens in 3 years!

Cute story,
our youngest DD (7 at the time) was playing at a friends house when the Mom asked Dd what she would like most to do - anything in the world- and my dd said see Jimmy Buffett in concert:goodvibes Did we raise her right or what?!
Turns out that the dad of dd's friend had been an instructor at NAS Key West TACTS (Top Gun school) and had flown Jimmy in an F-14.
He had some neat photos of Jimmy. And we found out he was mentioned in the notes of one of Jimmy's books.
My favorite JB song... besides Come Monday is One Particular Harbour

Hey I was born in 1974!!! I wish I was around when you were (and a couple other over 50's on this thread), you all had opportunities to see the man in cozy little bars & clubs!!

My Dis name says it all. Been a fan long as I can remember:cool1:
