I have a question about booking shore excursions. Is there any place on the DCL site where it lists the specific times of the port adventures? I see where it says how long each one lasts, but it doesn't say when it starts or ends. This makes it difficult to plan activities back on the ship if you have no idea when you'll be back. For example, on Pirate Night, we have the Main Seating. So our dinner begins at 5:45pm. I'm trying to plan how long before that I need to be back on board in order to have enough time to get my Jack Sparrow costume on (it takes a while, makeup & wig & such). I want to make sure I book a port adventure that gets me back in plenty of time, but nothing shows the times, only how long they last.

You could do some searches on the DIS for excursion times. The problem is that all of the DCL booked tours are dependent on when the ship docks, which is a good thing about booking through DCL. If the ship is delayed getting into port, the excursions are re-scheduled accordingly. You might want to just call DCL and ask them about the times. Our you could look at old Navigator's.

I am certainly going to have my camera ready for Pirate Night!

DH just informed me that it is 168 hrs until we are in Disney. YIKES. I haven't really got anything in the suitcases yet, plus working until Tuesday morning. Boy to I need this break.

I am certainly going to have my camera ready for Pirate Night!

Don't get too excited! Pirate Night will probably be the first time I actually put on the entire costume all at once (clothes, wig, makeup, facial hair, accessories). It will most likely look totally fubar! I've tried on different parts of the costume here and there, but never the whole thing yet (and I haven't even tried applying the fake facial hair yet as I only have a limited quantity and don't want to waste it all before the cruise). Depending on what time we get back from any port adventure on St. Marteen and how long it takes me to put everything on, I may end up having to forget about some of the more time-consuming parts such as the wig and makeup. I hope I have time to get it all on since I've certainly spent more than enough time creating the whole get-up (and annoying my wife to "world's end" in the process!).

Now that I have my costume pretty much done, I suppose I should start working on my stargazing presentation for the following night!

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any. But we do have our own mini-'Personal Navigator' in the first post of the thread - that and all my meals will probably keep me busy!

I Am sooo jealous of those leaving now! we aren't hitting the road until next Friday.

So... I am still totally stuck on FE gifts for the girls/boys in that illusive 10-15 range

I have the same issue...But we will figure something out. We still have a significant amount of work to for our FE gifts, but are getting closer.

Worked on some more packing tonight as well.

Tomorrow we leave for the weekend for my wife's 15th HS Reunion, so our time at home is limited!

Here's my first random thought of the day for new cruisers:

If you have a lot of electrical stuff that needs to be charged at night (iPods, laptops, cameras, etc) it's a good idea to being a mini power strip or an extension cord with extra plugs, since there is only 1 outlet in the room. I just picked up a new one at Amazon - this one is good if you have power supplies with large power packs plus it's really cute, 'cause it looks like a little man:
