Parksavers tix, quick question

It does have to be done in person so you need to have a trip in your renewal window

Well, maybe.

I've been on these boards for a long time.
I've read a lot of "situations" that have been handled in an unusual way.

So would this help people like me who are in the unfortunate situation of having our APs expire on the third day of our December trip, thereby making it so that we can only use the 60 day fast pass window for the first two days, not ten, then have to do the 60 window all over again for the second part after our renewal window has opened and we've bought the passes online?

Would this work for all of in the same situation- to purchase tickets from Parksavers, link them to our MDE accounts, then bridge the tickets to DVC AP renewals once we are there...I believe it has to be done once you've use the tickets to enter a park? Would that circumvent this splitting of our trips and fast pass windows?

And once we link the tickets to MDE, are they considered valid media for our whole December trip for the purposes of making fast passes, or do we have to physically enter a park with them?
You don't have to use the ticket first but yes, it would help you. This is the exact situation DH was in. His pass expired and if I hadn't had the PS ticket I would have not been able to make his FP until we renewed.

And you won't have to wait for anything. You'll link the PS ticket to MDE and when your FP window opens you should be able to book all your FP at the same time. The first 3 days will be on the AP and then 7 days for the ticket.

True enough. Never say never. Policy is in person but we all know how policy is at Disney. It's quite fluid

Thank you SO MUCH! I've never done this type of thing before...we wouldn't need to activate the PS tickets in any way, just link them to MDE, and the system will automatically assign them to our remaining days for the trip after our APs expire on the second day?

I thought the tickets had to be used at least once prior to bridging- was this not your experience? So we could just go to Guest Services on the day before our APs expire and have them bridge to the DVC renewal pass without worrying about ticket prioritizing and entering the park using the ticket? That would be amazing.

If they do need to be used once, how does that work when we already have APs? Do we go to guest services on the day before our passes expire and have them prioritize the tickets, then go back to guest services that same day to bridge?

Sorry for the questions, I just feel that if we miss any of the required steps here, we will be SOL when we try to take care of this :)! I so appreciate the help.

There is no need to use them first. It's been a long standing common misconception.
But, do know what the renewal total will be before you go to the ticket counter. Some CM do not know how to do the bridging correctly. If you encounter one who does it wrong and the total is not what you expect then ask for a supervisor to review the process. Or try another counter.

Even if you did opt to enter the park once, like because you don't have time to do it prior to your first park day, there is no need to prioritize anything. It wouldn't matter what ticket it used for your entrance, unless you planned to save the ticket till later. But even if it used the ticket instead of the AP it won't change anything when you go to renew. Unless you waited till you'd used all days on the ticket or something. And I doubt you'd be waiting that long to renew

You are an absolute lifesaver, thanks again!

You don't have to wait until your final AP day in order to renew.
You can renew any time from 60 days before (and up to 30 days after) your AP anniversary date.
Just go to a ticket booth or Guest Relations and ask for an AP renewal. Then tell the CM you want to use a stand-alone ticket to trade in as part of your renewal payment.
The CM will subtract the current full price of the unused ticket of the same kind as you have from the current full price of the AP renewal.

Very interesting......Thanks indeed.

Yep, it's that simple. I had 2 tickets bought from PS. Went to the ticket counter at AK, they applied the cost of the ticket (the cost Disney sells it for at the gate) to the renewal and I paid the difference. Since I paid about $75 less for the ticket than I would had I bought it from Disney I saved $75 on the renewal, on top of the renewal discount. In our case we did it about 2 days before the 30 day window closed because that's when our trip was. It does have to be done in person so you need to have a trip in your renewal window
This is great to know for the future..Thanks..

Just to clarify, the VOUCHER must be redeemed by 12/31. That is for folks who want a physical ticket that is picked up at the ticket counter. If you plan to link to MDE and have MB, or plan to buy MB, then the date does not apply. Once the ticket is linked to MDE they are valid till 2030

Been going on since at least January. No one knows when it ends

Thank you! This is incredibly great information to have. I'm actually interested in the other offer which is 5-day hoppers plus water parks. (I don't think I'll need 7 days on my next trip, but we do like the water parks.) Do you know if that 5-day ticket would also be good until 2030 if linked to MDE?

Also, when I link the tickets to MDE, do I have to assign them to specific people? Or could I just link them as Guest #1, Guest #2, etc.? I just don't want to lock people in right now in case plans change. Thank you again!

Until the tickets are used you can reassign them to anyone, so if your travel companions change, it's no problem

If you link it to a dummy /phantom account via your MDE you will be able to reassign it anytime you like. Else if you link it to someone that has a MDE account then you need that other person to reassign the ticket from their MDE.... Coz I just tried this

I'm not sure of the exact expiration date of the tickets once linked. It is a very long way out though. Not just a year or two.

I just ordered three tickets for our October trip. This is the first time I've used parksavers.

I got an email saying that my order is complete, but no codes or vouchers for the tickets. Am I supposed to get something else?

If you ordered that the tickets be sent to you (mail, FedEx, UPS, etc.,) you will be getting the physical tickets.

I don't recall that being a choice with PS. Possible for sure but not an option I recall seeing.

A few hours after you order you should receive a voucher that can be printed out and taken to a ticket counter to exchange for tickets.
2-3 days following that you will receive a code to use to link the ticket to MDE

I think something else may be going on. I just got an email from parksavers that says that there will be a delay of a few days because their "ticketing partner put Walt Disney World tickets on a temporary maintenance and potentially changing of ticket sales." They did say that my price is locked in because I bought them earlier, so it's just a minor inconvenience.

I ordered2 tickets a few weeks ago and then just the other day I ordered 2 more. Within hours I received the 1st email which included the vouchers to redeem at the park for hard tickets then in a few days i received the email that has the codes to link to the MBs on MDE. I had no problem
