When I went last July, the parks were actually opening 20-30 minutes before the official 9:00 opening time. I was wondering if they're still doing so this year. I leave Friday, can't hardly wait. Thanks :cool1:

Yes, they are, and it's a huge advantage to be there when they open first thing, even if you have FOTL.

On Thursday 07/07/05, they opened at 08:30am.
On Friday 07/08/05 they opened at 08:45am.

If you take your front seat ride on Hulk, then high tail it back to Pteranondon Flyers, you can get a few rides without getting out of your seat before the kid rule goes into effect.

The other advantage, is the park is quiet, and the sun is just coming up. After a few hours, things heat up, and you'll want to head back to your hotel room.

I am going during the last two weeks of August. Do they still open early then?

I don't know about that time of the year, it's not the busy time.
If you look on the park web site at the hours, they reduce them for the last two weeks of August. Opening early is based on crowd levels.
You'll still have a huge jump on the crowds if you are waiting at the gate when the park opens, even if it is 9am.

My guess is it will open around 8:45. Even when it's not very busy, most of the time Universal Studios opens 10-15 minutes early. I don't know about IOA though.

We just returned around 2 weeks ago, and even if they don't open early there were only 10 people in line @ around 8:45. Have fun! ...and it's nice to see a TITAN'S FAN... :thewave:
