Parks in February

I have 4 nights booked for week of Feb 5th prior to a 3 night Disney cruise. I picked this time because the cruise fare wasn't outrageous when compared to the summer. I've been reading that a lot of rides may be closed during this time of year. Would anyone with experience going to the parks during the beginning of February share their experiences with ride closures? Are they usually the popular rides? Also - how is the weather? Will it be too cold in Castaway Cay? TIA!

We were at WDW from 1/29 - 2/4 this year. The day we arrived was a high of 55* (and it got down to 40, we broke out the fleece blanket for our kiddo in the stroller), and the day before we left was 85*. You really have to pack every type of clothing. Luckily we did laundry since we were in a 1BR. We did go to the pool on the hot day, but we are from New England so I think we were anomalies.

As for ride closures... I didn't really notice anything in particular other than the MK train. We were traveling with a toddler so the more thrilling rides weren't on our radar anyway.

Usually one main ride at each park is down during this time of the year for scheduled maintenance/refurb.
We have gone on two DCLs during early Feb. with stops at CC.
One time the water was too cold to get into.
One time it was cold but you could get use to it and was nice.
OP, What ship are you going to be on, we are schded to be on the Wonder around this same time?

Been to WDW that time of year a few times. Weather most days is sunny and reaches low 70s in the day, iffy for use of pool, 50s at night, but you can get colder days and warmer days and stretches of either. Park crowds are manageable, although for Studios in the last couple years, they have been quite heavy simply because half the park has been shut down for construction. You get some crowd increase during Mardi Gras time (Lousiana schools are out then and many from that state come to WDW). There is usually a couple rides, sometimes major ones, down for refurb but generally most things are open except, of course, for things that are down for extended periods (like half of Studios). Because of the usually pleasant weather and crowds, we consider it an ideal time to go despite that it is the lowest DVC demand time of the year at WDW.

We have been every time of the year and find a ride or attraction could be down for maintenance or re-ferb. This past Feb before our Cruise we had great weather, normal construction and 1 ride maintenance. Pool at BWV was closed for maintenance. Crowd level was great and we got everything done including Soarin without FP.

We love February because the weather has treated us well especially considering we are coming from Minnesota and it is pre Spring Break.

We are sailing on the Dream. Our 1st DCL cruise!

Typically, February has Splash Mountain closed in the MK. I know that because it's my wife's favorite ride. One or both of the water parks are usually entirely closed.

Weather is usually in the 60's and 70's, but I've seen days in the 40's and days in the 80's. Little rain, unlike August, thankfully.

We have gone first week of Feb twice. The weather definitely requires layers. Mornings and fireworks were chilly but mid day was great. 70 for winter time is awesome to us! We also like that we can wear pants or long sleeves and worry about sun exposure a bit less.
Splash mountain was closed for refurb both trips. But our Sept trip also had main attractions closed at multiple parks so Feb didn't feel any worse to us.
Pool was too cold for me due to air temp getting out. The water is heated though so my kids were up for swimming.

I concur with all of this. Feb 1-15 is our "normal" WDW visiting time, a dozen times at least. When kids were young they loved the heated pools. 60s didn't bother them. You definitely need jackets/coats at night, especially if you're planning on viewing Illuminations.

We did a Disney Cruise last year at the end of Jan/early Feb. Due to mechanical issues, we missed Cast Away Cay. In talking with people on the ship (guests and staff), they said that time of the year can be iffy for getting into Cast Away Cay anyway because of the wind. If it's too windy they may not be able to dock.
I don't know how much truth there is to that, but that's what we heard.

We've also been to WDW world during this time. Splash Mountain has frequently been closed during this time. But I've hear that will be close towards the end of this year instead of the beginning of next year. The weather can fluctuate a lot. Make sure to check the forecast before you go and pack accordingly.
