Hi All,
It's been awhile since I've visited these boards, but I found your advice very helpful last time when my DH and I went on our adult solo trip, so I thought I'd come back and see if I can seek your help again. This time around, we are planning on going the first week in Dec, staying at POP. We are actually making this trip to "initiate" our daughter (she will be 20 mos when we go.) I know that the parks are not very crowded that time of year, and we will have to still take some nap and unwind breaks in the afternoon, but I'm wondering about the pool situation in Dec. Is it too cold to swim during the day if we wanted to head back for a break? What else do you suggest doing if we were to take a non-nap break if the pools and water parks won't be an option? Any other suggestions? While we are so excited to be finally bringing our daughter to the Disney Magic, I am also worried about our first real trip with a toddler. Thanks for any advice you can give!

Melissa

The weather in Florida is very unpredictable. In December, it can be 50 degrees one day and 80 the next. Most of the resort pools are heated so you should have a good chance of swimming at least during a portion of your trip.

Thats a relieve - my wife and I are staying at Pop for 15 nights from the 26th November - only been in Disney May / June / August before....looking forward to the cooler weather !

I had to reply b/c we too are going the first week of December and staying at the PC with our then to be 20 mo DD. After reading some of these boards I am looking foward to all the Christmas decorations...I guess some of the hotels are decorated very nicely for Christmas. We are hoping to schedule in some time to check these out. Also we are planning on attending the MVMCP one of the nights. Keep in mind that the parks aren't open as long this time of the year. We went a few years ago when my DS was 22 mo and he was perfect! It was sooo much fun! He loved ALL the disney magic! We brought our own stroller that reclined a bit and he would just take his naps in there, it worked out well. I think you will have a blast!

We were there last year from Thanksgiving to the following Saturday. The weather can be very unpredictable. We only ended up swimming one day as it wasn't quite warm enough. Now for park touring, it was absolutely gorgeous! The highs most days were in the low 70's - one day was in the 80's and another couple of days were in the 60's.

but it was never really gold. I had to make the kids take their gap fleece pullovers in the morning & i held by 9am.
good luck
