We hav always gone to WDW the last week of Oct. or the first week on Nov. Due to a wedding we must attend down south, we will be at the world Oct. 10th-15th. Can anyone give me an idea of the crowds, humidity, and if there is anything going on during this time that would make it more crowded that the end of Oct? Also, would you make a ressie with AAA now for Caribbean Beach or wait to see if post cards come out? It seems the only time we ever received a card was the year we weren't going and therefore did not have a ressie made way in advance. Thanks for any input.

Haven't been there in Oct.....so sorry I can't help, but I did want to add that I think that is Columbus day week, right? However...I doubt it will have a HUGE impact. Sorry I can't say for sure though. I've never been in October  I hear it's lovely.

I'm not sure of the crowds that time of year, as we haven't been in October for over 9 years now (but back then it was not crowded at all, and the weather was great!)

However, I do want to make a suggestion on reserving your room. I would make your reservation for CBR now, with AAA discount. That way, you're sure to get the reservation you want, and if discounts come out later, you can always have them applied to your ressie. JMHO.

That will be the week my family is going and it's a GREAT time to be there!!!::yes:: Oct has been my favorite time to visit for over 10 years now.I use to go when you did,end of Oct but when Erich started to school 3 yrs ago it's been changed to mid Oct when his Fall Break is scheduled.

Anyway...We had one year when it was chilly and one year pretty hot but generally the weather is BEAUTIFUL most of the time, warm enough to swim but not humid.Maybe a light jacket in the evening some nights. The crowd aren't really that bad especially during the week.

Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Parties (special ticket event) will be going on some nights at MK and also Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.F&W can get a bit crowded on Fri and Sat nights but mid week is a great time to visit.

I think you'll enjoy mid Oct...I know I do!!!:sunny:

We were at WDW October 12-18th last year and the crowds didn't seem to be that bad except on the weekends. We wanted to ride tower of terror on the 12th because it was supposed to be closing for refurb the next day (for some reason it didn't close) and we waited for over two hours in line at MGM because we were too late to get fastpasses. If you can go to mnsshp I would definitely do it, we had a great time and there were no lines for the rides. Walked right on space and splash mountain, buzz lightyear, POC, and the tomorrowland indy speedway.
Overall I found the crowds on the weekends very busy but during the week it wasn't bad at all.

Sorry, can't help with the info for October, but I'll be going to WDW the first week in November. Yooperfan, can you share how the weather and crowds are at that time? Thanks.

The humidity is usually gone, although the last time we went, a year ago last Nov. it was unusually warm, upper 80's. Usually it is a nice mid to low 80's. We really like the beginning of Nov.

We were there Oct 3-9 last year and it was quite hot and humid. It was also pretty crowded BUT it was the week Wishes, Mission Space and Philharmagic premiered and a TON of press were there. I mean a TON. We still enjoyed ourselves and I would not hesitate to go back at that time of the year. However, if I could have pushed it back a week, I would have....I think value rates end at the end of Sept and we were there during "regular" time...if the cost of your hotel is a factor to you, perhaps you should look at the last week of Sept.
