Okay let's talk literature.....

The work of Jules Verne has featured prominantly in Disney films and theme parks, including adaptations of these three books into rides in The Magic Kingdom (now removed), Disneyland Paris and Tokyo DisneySea respectively.

Got a Whale of Tale to tell ye lads!

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!

then Space Mountain, and then... You got me...

Flight to the Moon (WDW)/Rocket to the Moon (DL)
Journey to the Center of the Earth (TDS)

Sorry guys, neither of you have the names of all three books. Good efforts, though, keep trying!

OK....let's see...

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea - Magic Kingdom
Journey To The Center Of The Earth - Tokyo DisneySea

Space Mountain at Disneyland Resort Paris very much has a Jules Verne feel, but I don't remember if it was based on a specific story. There also is a 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea walkthrough of the Nautilus, but we already covered that at WDW. Oy...I was just there like 3 months ago! I should know this!

You're almost there, the Paris attraction is definitely based on a specific Jules Verne book. If no one gets it today I'll add a hint!

Okay 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea- WDW (now sadly gone)
From The Earth To The Moon- Or also called Space Mountain- DL
Journey to the Center of the Earth- TDS

Is that right?

That's right, Amy, good job. I think the name of the attraction is Space Mountain: Mission Two, but it is based upon From the Earth to the Moon.

You earn the AAQ.

You're right, the name for Space Mountain in DLRP is "Space Mountain: Mission 2." The original ride was based on the book (I'm assuming...never read it). There was a scene as you were going up a lift hill that there was a moon in front of you with a face on it. Quite creepy in my opinion. The new ride (not as good in my opinion) is based about going to a super nova or something. They did remove the creepy moon-man, which I kinda did miss....kinda.

Sorry had a finance meeting last night for my son's school Halloween party!

Anywho:

Q: What newspaper broke the story in 1965 that the Walt Disney Company had indeed been behind the recent brokerage of large sales of acreage?

Hmmm, this is a tough one. I would think that it would either be a Los Angeles paper like the Times or an Orlando paper or a business circular. I have no idea what the Orlando papers are named, so I'll go with the Wall Street Journal.

I'm going to say Orlando Sentinel. I believe the headlines I've seen in the past were local & I know most links to newspaper coverage of parks happenings are from the Sentinel.

HOT OFF THE PRESSES!
cabanafrau gets the AAQ!

Thank you amyhughes. Sorry, had no idea I actually answered the question correctly.

In honor of Epcot celebrating it's 25th this week, what original Epcot attraction began w/ contributions from representatives of 22 different countries?
