Just a reminder that the Parks Game thread will be celebrating its sixth birthday next Monday, 9/17. It would be great to see us stay on page 1 for the big day. Hope you can all be around to keep us going!!

And now for a softball question:

How many stones did it take to build Cinderella's Castle?

Hmmm....Would that be granite?...marble?...or fiberglass!

Zero stones were used to build Cinderella castle!

Thanks ksdave!

Where could you have heard the following song?

"Proper foods each time you dine,
Can keep you fit and feelin' fine.
Eating right's a healthy sign,
And feelin' good makes each day shine and shine."

Let's keep the Parks Game on the first page, and let everyone know about our Monday celebration! ...did I hear the blender mixing up a batch of 'whiparitas'?

OK, Here goes...

On RocknRoller Coaster, whats the name of the place you are going in the limo?

Also on Rockin' Rollercoaster:

How quickly does your Super Stretch accelerate to 60 mph? For bonus how many feet forward does this propel you (almost) instantly?

Unbelievably, I think I actually know this one. I saw something about this on television a while back and was struck by the figures of acceleration, and I think I remember it as 2.8 seconds. I don't think it's precisely 60 MPH, I thought it was something like 56 or 57, but I could be remembering that wrong. I also remember the G forces it turns on the inversion, 4 1/2! More than a shuttle launch!
I can not wait to ride it (this November!)....
As for the distance, I have NO idea.

That is right!! Good memory!

On the distance it is 200 feet!

Ha ha what a batting average, now I'm 1 for about 12,428.....
Given this, here's one most of you probably know.....
What does the "E" in Roy E. Disney stand for?

Ooops, brain cramp, the parks dummy. Sorry everyone! Fortunately I do have another parks-related question. Again, one I'm sure everyone knows.....
Why does the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad generally go faster as the day goes along?

Becasue the grease on the tracks gets heated up through the day becase of the sun, causing the tracks to be slicker, causing the trains to move (ever so slightly) faster.

Quite right, see I knew it would be easy for someone!
To you, I award a well won AAQ card, hopefully you have a tougher question than mine!

Y'all want hard? Well...how about just obscure? I can do obscure.

I don't know about y'all, but my all time favorite parade at Disney is the Main Street Electrical Parade. The WDW version was shown only once outside of the parks at a Bowl game. What football bowl game was it and in what year?

Wow, I didn't know that! Cool! I'll be interested in the answer. Hopefully you have some backstory you can fill in too!:teacher:

Right you are, Kimmy! The MSEP was the halftime show for the '78 Orange Bowl in Miami. Arkansas beat Oklahoma 31 to 6. I "proudly present our spectacular pagaent of nighttime magic and imagination" AAQ to you!

I'm not really sre about the back history about why the Big 8 chose to have the MSEP as their halftime show. Maybe they were hyping up for the creation of EPCOT Center? Wait....scratch that. I just checked on that and the Orange Bowl was January 2nd of '78 and Disney didn't announce until October 1st of that year the plans of building EPCOT Center. Hmmm....we shall investigate this mystery.
