Parks Game: Part 11! "Still Playing After All These Years..."

Not really sure but just by your picture granny it has an Independence Hall resemblance look to it.

Ace...I'm sure it was an honest mistake. I imagine that "work thing" was making MBabe rush a bit! :p

Yeah, I know.. I just like giving her a little friendly grief :teeth:

I know! I know! I'll sneak out of lurk mode to answer---the railroad station in Saratoga Springs, NY. I live near there, so it's probably not a fair quesiton for me!

Back to lurking I go....

Granny--I always thought that PoC game was in a stalemate...oh well...thanks for clearing that up :)

Anyway--is the train station modeled after the one in disneyland--which I'll guess was modeled after the one in Walt's hometown of Marcillene, Ill.??

And Diana Lyn sheds her cloak of invisibility (oh, a Harry Potter reference!)and swoops in with the correct answer! Yes, the station is modelled after the one in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Very appropriate since the newest WDW resort, Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, is based on that entire area with its history of horses, spas and springs!

A "nice slice of NY" AAQ to Diana Lyn!! :)

And Higgs...I always thought that game was a stalemate too in PoC. I just happened to stumble across a site where the person went to take find out if the PoC chess game stalemate was fact or rumor.

Just goes to show you, we can keep on learning on this thread!! :)

Hello, Hello is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone at all?

Who's got the next question?

OK…here’s one
What was the name of the first 3D movie to play in the theater that currently shows “Honey I shrunk the Audience?”

I Know!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

That would be Captain EO With Michael Jackson!

::yes::

Actually there was an older 3D movie that was in the theater when EPCOT opened in 1983. I remember seeing it a few times that first February (I won a trip from a local radio station), but, I can't for the life of me remember the name of the movie.

The Journey Into Imagination pavilion opened on October 1, 1982, with the 3-D film, "Magic Journeys," which examined the world through the eyes of children.

The film closed on February 9, 1986, and was replaced by Michael Jackson's "Captain EO" in September of that same year.

"Honey I Shrunk The Audience," the 3D movie starring Rick Moranis, replaced this attraction when it closed after an eight year run on July 11, 1994.

Ace nailed it---I was looking for "Magic Journeys"

You're up!

Speaking of Magic Journeys...

What happened to "Magic Journeys" after it was evicted from the Imagination pavilion?

Not fully sure but:

The film closed on February 9, 1986, and was replaced by Michael Jackson's "Captain EO" in September of that same year.

Then Honey I shrunk the audience took its place.

Well, that's true (but was in my last post) :p

I'm wondering what happened to the Magic Journeys film itself. ::yes::

Magic Journeys went to the Fantasyland Theater at the Magic Kingdom and played for many years until the theater was shut down and rehabbed to make way for the Legend of the Lion King.

You're right! Magic Journeys took a ride down the Epcot monorail route and got off in Fantasyland, where it hung out for a few years before the "Humanimals" of LOTLK moved in.

I thought I had it. I should think before I type :teeth:

Don't feel bad. I blew the date in my post. I went in February of 1983, just after EPCOT opened in the fall of 1982. That is why 1983 stuck in my head. Sorry about that, folks.
