Parks Filling to Capacity on Christmas Day?

When the parks have reached full capacity and close to the public (or technically off site guests), can Disney Resort guests enter and re-enter a closed park thoughout the day?

I'm relating this question towards Christmas day as my fiance' and I will be there at this time...This will determine if we eat Christmas dinner in MK and stay there all day, or if we have the flexiblity to leave the park for a nice meal at one of the resorts.

This seems to be a question which always gets different answers. Would love to hear other responses.
We were at WDW last year on the 25th and my understanding was that MK did reach capacity. We spent the whole day at EPCOT, got there about 11 AM and stayed till closing. It was crowded but never felt wall to wall like MK gets. We spent two other days at MK including the 26th and it was busy but never wall to wall. On the 26th we stayed till almost midnight and the park was pretty empty toward the end. Make sure you make your PS early.

There are various levels of closing. One level is to simply close the parking lot, which means that you can't park, but if you drive in and are dropped off, or if you take Disney transportation, you can get in.

Next ... they close to outside guests. This means that only Resort guests are allowed in.

Finally ... they close to ALL guests, no matter what. This doesn't happen alot, but when it does, it's almost always on Christmas Day, Easter Sunday or July 4.

So, to answer your quetsion ... staying at a Disney Resort doesn't guarantee that you'll be able to get back in.
