Never had a rental car before when going to Disney, always used their transportation, so I couple newbie questions....

1. Since we used points for our hotel (Jambo), parking at the hotel is free. Is that correct?
2. Also, parking at the parks will be free as well?
3. When it comes to parking, I remember seeing lots at Epcot, HS and AK right outside the gates. When it comes to MK, there was not one I saw. I read on a sight that you must park at the Transporation center, then take a bus/monorail to the park. Is that a pain or long wait since Covid?

Any tips regarding parking/rental car for this rookie?

Yes, parking is free. Even we had rental cars, we did not use to MK for the reason you mention.

3. Yes, if you drive to MK, you have to park at the TTC and then take a ferry or the monorail over. The ferry holds more people but the monorail is typically faster.

We went in December the week before Christmas and there was no wait going to or coming from MK using the monorail on both days. However, we would go over in the afternoon and leave the park about an hour after official closing so you may have to wait if you go to MK during busier times during the day like the morning for arrival and around park close for departure.

One piece of advice if you’re driving to MK is to remember where you parked. Take a picture of your section or text yourself or do whatever you need to serve as a reminder. The parking lot is huge. A cast member once told me that the MK lot is large enough to hold all of Disney Land with room left for a few thousand cars. It’ll be no fun trying to find your car at night while you’re tired after a day at the park.

Can someone please tell me if you still get free parking at the resorts if you are renting points from an owner but you are not an owner yourself? Thanks!

You are supposed to get free parking as a renter, if booked on points, We have had reports where people saw a charge on their bill and had to go to the front desk,

But, in all cases, it was removed.

I absolutely agree that taking Disney Transportation busses from the resort to the MK is far better than driving and parking. the other parks are OK to drive.
