When staying as a DVC member at a DVC resort do we have to pay for parking when visiting the theme parks?

No Disney resort guest pays for parking. You can use their transportation or your own.

Free parking at theme parks isn't a DVC perk, it's a Disney resort guest perk. So, if you're staying at any Disney resort, on points or cash, you don't pay to park. If you're staying offsite, you'll pay for theme park parking whether you're a DVC member or not.

Yes, any WDW resort guest gets free theme park parking, and since it's now $14 a day, it's a great perk!

I have not had an AP in quite sometime and have always stayed
on the property but didn't that used to be a perk ?

Yes, AP holders get free Theme Park parking too.
