We are just beginning to plan for a 7 day cruise in the first half of 2008 combined with another week at the Fort Wilderness Campground at Disney Orlando. We will be driving our motorhome to Florida so we can use it at the Fort after the cruise. Question....is there secure parking facilities at the ship for a motorhome and towed vehicle? An suggestions?

I read that the charge at the port is $24 a day for motor homes, Im assuming yours fits into their limits, but you might want to check and read the port stuff yourself to be sure. Regular parking is $12 a day and yes I hear security is good.

We looked into this when we went in 2004. You can park your motorhome in the pay lot next to the cruise terminal, but they will charge you the regular daily fee for each parking spot you use. We figured our motorhome and towed vehicle would use three spots, so we just checked into Ft. Wilderness early and left the motorhome at our site. I liked the idea of it hooked up to electric, letting the air conditioning cycle on and off, and not having to empty the refrigerator or run it on propane during our cruise. It cost a little more, but it was worth it to us.

2DIZNY reminded me of something that I know pertains to cars parked at PC. I do not have an RV so I am not familiar with them, but I assume this would hold true. Vehicles parked in the DCL lot at PC is subject to red ant invasions if any food or beverages are left in the cars. I do not know if this is a seasonal problem, or year round.
