We are driving down to FL in August and are wondering for those who have recently been to DTD -

1) how is the parking situation? What do you recommend as best time of day to go now?
2) where's the best place to park?
3) have you tried & would you recommend taking dis transportation instead to avoid parking?
4) is there valet parking?

Thank you!!

Everything I've heard lately is that you want to take Disney transportation or do valet. Much of the parking lot is blocked off for construction.

Do they still have the parking available across the street - 1 lot was at Team Disney and the other lot was across from the entrance by World of Disney and Basin? They had those in May

They will overflow to them on nights and weekends.

Overall it's just a disaster and I would recommend just waiting until the construction is done to visit :)

If you take the first entrance across from Typhoon Lagoon and stay left and head all the way to the back you can loop around and park behind the House of Blues. This only fills up on the busiest days. We were there on July 2nd and had no trouble finding a space despite the holiday crowds being high.

One other way to go is to grab lunch or dinner at Port Orleans (Riverside or French Quarter have nice food courts) and then take the boat over.

One of the two garages looked pretty close to completion. I'm not sure when it will open, but roadwork to expand lanes is also well underway from Epcot Center Drive and Buena Vista Drive intersection to DTD (the center island is being mostly removed and extra turn and travel lanes added).

We were there a month ago. We arrived around noon or so and I was expecting it to be a nightmare, but it was fine. There were quite a few spaces in the lot near La Nouba. The valet lot was pretty much empty.

There were also spaces available when we left at about 8:30.

. . . absolutely terrible
. . . the lot(s) are so small at the current time
. . . if you want to go, get there at opening

2) where's the best place to park?
. . . behind Cirque

3) have you tried & would you recommend taking dis transportation instead to avoid parking?
. . . positively

4) is there valet parking?
. . . yes
. . . but, even the handicapped pay the fee

RustyScrapper is correct. In the evenings I have parked at Team Disney which is across the street and then walked over. It is a good walk. They occassionally have a golf cart shuttle, but it seems never to be running when I am there.
The other option is at the casting center. If you can park behind cirque or valet park.
