We're staying at the Radisson resort the night before our cruise. We will have a rental car. I would like to leave the car there, since it is no charge, plus the shuttle service. Will the car be safe?
Is the parking at the Port more secure than the hotel? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Many, many cruisers leave their cars at the Radisson without incident. But the lot isn't fenced and guarded like the lot at the port. If paranoia is going to bother you, you may find the $10/day parking fee at the port to be worthwhile for the ease of mind it gives you.

BTW, did you consider renting a car and dropping it in Cape Canaveral, and then renting another car after your cruise. This is often cheaper than renting a car and parking it while you're on your cruise. Not always... sometimes the weekly rates are better. But it's worth pricing out both ways.

I have details on one-way car rentals at my web site...

We rented car from budget at the airport for WDW portion of trip and then returned it to Budget near the port before cruise.

I dropped my family at the port, they checked in while I returned the car. It was a 5 minute trip from port and you can see it from the radisson. I was back at the port in less then 30. My family was checked in and all I had to do was walk up to the same counter they checked in at and show my picture ID to get my KTTW card.

At the end of the cruise we took shuttle to budget and picked up car for trip back to the airport. There is nocharge for returning car to different sight in this case.

There is no reason to pay for rental while on the ship.

This is what we've done and found it effective. IT's simple and cheap. We've done it with both Avis and Enterprise.

The rate we got from Alamo was the best. Unfortunatley, Alamo does not have an office near the port. I originally wanted to drop rental car of during our cruise. But the other rental agencies, were more costly, and this included not having the car during our cruise. If more cost could be saved by leaving the rental car at the Radisson, I thought GREAT! I really appreciate all the feedbacks and ideas.
