you don’t. They stopped giving passes. The first time you enter, you go through the guard who checks ID and has always checked our reservation on a clipboard or online. I guess they verify our DVC reservation. We’ve never had an issue, yet. I would suggest you check your charges prior to leaving, which can be done on your app. Worse case scenario would be going to the front desk with your DVC card to remove parking charges if that would happen. It’s easier to correct overcharges in person, than over the phone.

But you have to use your magic band to open the room first.

Does the magic band work work on that gate on check in day. I think I tried it once and it didn’t work. The security guard had to come over and get us thru.

same for us. The guard said it won’t work on the gate until you’ve opened your room door first. We tried it, but the gate wouldnt open. The guard always checks your ID the first time you arrive.

Hmm, i actually arrive 2 days before I pick up my car. Does that mean I can use the 'other' lane to get into the parking area which I assume is an unmanned gate? or would I still have to check in with the gate guard one my first car day?

Almost positive your magic band/key card will not work on the gate until after it has been used to open your resort room. Should work in your case since you will have been in the room prior to driving through the gate.

Actually, I stayed at BWV in December 2020 and again in January 2021 and both times I used my magic band in the "Other Lane" to park before using my magic band to enter my room. FWIW, I had already received the room ready text both times.
