Looking beyond the policy, and what enforcement is expected to be, I would actually think they would be ok with it if it is just for a few hours. The lot will be more empty than not due to hotel guests being out at the parks themselves, and AKL is much more out of the way than the other deluxe resorts where people are most likely to want to cheat the system intentionally.
I would go into it expecting the worse, but just ask the security guard at the gate if it's possible to leave it there for 4 hours or so, without filling him in on the details unless he asks. My personal bet is he will say its fine.
