Hi,
I'm trying to work up a budget for an upcoming February trip. Unfortunately, we'll be staying off-site and driving to the parks each day. I'm sure the parking fee has gone up since the last time we had to pay. So, I came to the DIS where someone always knows the answer :flower:
Thanks in advance for the help. It just makes it easier to have the money put aside in an envelope just for parking fees.

Yep. It's gone up in the last year or two. Sometimes i wonder what justifies the rate hike in parking. :rolleyes1

Remember to keep your parking receipt, then when you park hop you don't have to pay parking at the next park.

Thanks for the replies! I think it was only $7 the last time we had to pay to park...Wow...$9 - when you have to add that to the price of a ticket
Oh, well...still going

Happy New Year!

rise in gas prices, rise in CP wages, rise in cost of living, rise of disney being greedy greedy.. pick your poision. There was quite a lively discussion about parking costs over on the transportation board.

That said, I hate paying for parking. Anywhere. But it's the same as Universal and Seaworld now. :moped:

I would have thought it was the rise of gas for the parking trams.
Prices for luxury items, like vacation travel, rarely are correlated so closely to costs like that. We "pick our own poison" -- the price typically reflect how much we (collectively) are willing to pay, more than any other consideration.

Ummm....I don't necessarily agree that cost of vacation travel is not so closely correlated to the cost of rising gas prices. I have no insight as to why the parking increased but I wouldn't dismiss the cost of running the trams as one of the reasons.

Figure it this way: Fuel prices went up right? Well they went up for the resort, but they went up for all the guests too. So the guests now have less disposable income available. That lowers demand, and that lowers prices. Remember right after 9/11? Prices for vacation travel plummeted, yet costs increased.

Depending on the number of days you'll be there, don't forget to factor in the option of an AP for someone in your party. With an AP you get to park for free. HTH

eh? To my knowledge, prices for vacations have gone up recently, not down.

Are you saying that fuel prices have no bearing whatsoever on the price increases anywhere where fuel is used?

When did it go up to $9? We were just there a couple of months ago and it was still $8.

Susan

October 9th to be exact since we happened to be there when it increased.

Because demand went up.

Gosh no! What I said was that prices weren't correlated so closely with costs.
