Parking passes at BWV

It's been a while since we've stayed a BWV and I know there's been some changes.

We are not renting a car but my sister, who is staying at AKV, will have a car and is planning on coming to the Boardwalk area to dine with us and go into Epcot.

Can I get a parking pass for her to use? If not, can I get one under my reservation and let her use it since I won't have a car?

Thanks

Call the front desk to confirm the policy, but in the past I was able to simply park there by telling the security guard I was there for a dinner. They inspected my ID and let me in. Not sure how tight security is these days but it's worth a call.

How about if they are coming to pick us up to go somewhere else? How do they get pass the guard at the gate?

Again, I would simply have them tell the security guard why they are there (pick up of a resort guest) and I would think they'd let them through. I've done this without them issuing me a formal 'pass', I just drive in after they check my ID.

When we have had this situation in the past, the requirement was to inform front desk who would inform security that we had a guest coming to visit us, and then have the guest provide our name and room number to be able to get past front gate security.

Just remember that while she can park for free if she is dining or picking you up, she is not entitled to park for free if she is also going into Epcot. In that case, she should use and pay for valet parking.

They will scan her MB to see if she is on a room resie or ADR. If she is not on those, I suppose you work that out with front desk folks. You could take one of your spare MBs and give to her to use at arm at gate.

This is exactly what I did last spring. It was Easter week (so it was busy), and I was visiting a friend at BWV. She called down and let them know I’d be coming. I gave the security guard my name, told him who I was visiting (name and room #), showed ID, and was waved through. It was very simple.

Sounds like you're getting a car to use for that day. :) Once she's through I'd let the front desk know that you have a car for the time being. I can't remember if BW is one of the few resorts still issuing paper passes or not.

She just tells the gate guard what's going on.

I have never seen a paper parking pass and in the last 2 years I have stayed at BLT, PVB, OKW, BWV, AKV and SSR. All online check in never a problem when parking.

This year is the first time we haven't gotten them. Prior to that we were still getting them even when many said they weren't.
