Parking on arrival day with no pass

We always drive to WDW and because we don't usually arrive before mid-morning, our routine is to check in at the resort before we go to the park or do whatever else it is we have planned for the day. This means we are issued our parking pass that we can utilize at the parks for free parking if we drive to any park later in the week.

This upcoming trip we are spending a few days in Siesta Key and plan on arriving early to hit AK at opening. If we go straight to the park instead of checking in at the Poly first can they scan a magicband at AK to verify on-site guests since we won't have our parking pass yet? We would save considerable time being able to go straight to the park instead of having to check in, get the parking pass, and then drive back to AK.

Your MB should be linked already when you receive it in the mail. They will be able to scan it for parking.

Yes. Your onsite info is linked to your MDE and the CMs now scan MBs for this info. You won't receive a Parking Pass because all you need is your MB.

Thanks for the responses...I assumed this is how it would work but thought I should check and save myself the headache! We just returned from a trip and were issued a pass but that could have been just to verify our vehicle belonged to a guest staying at that particular resort.

if your magic band doesn't work for any reason and you end up paying, you can go to guess relation and they will issue a refund once they corroborate you are entitled to free parking, Once we pay for parking and after upgrading to annual pass they did reimburse the parking fee. Have great trip!

*I' m not saying everyone who upgrade their tickets to annual pass will get a refund, it's only as a reference that guest relations can issue refunds if you do qualify for one

No need to qualify your statement.

Guests who are buying or upgrading to an AP should save their parking receipt and get the parking fee refunded
when they buy or upgrade to the AP.

@Jasper07 ~ Be sure to select the earliest arrival time when completing online check-in. Your onsite resort info is activated at the selected time.

We stayed at AoA last week and were never issued a parking pass. The folks at the parking booths just scanned our MBs or waved us by as soon as I tried to hold up my MB. Seriously, I think they only scanned my MB three times the whole week.

We had a similar experience last month. I wonder if they have proximity RFID sensors (similar to what makes the ride photos link to you) and can see that you are a resort guest without the touch tap now?

We were issued one at the Contemporary two weeks ago....could it just be because it was a monorail resort and they have to have a way to know which cars belong to Contemporary guests?

Not all resorts issue them anymore.

We stayed at Bay Lake in February and were NOT given a paper pass. :)

When we went in June of last year, they maybe scanned our bands once the whole trip. I could be wrong, but I doubt they have that technology at the parking booths.
